>> crash left the officer's pickup a crumbled death. officers are trying to come to a loss of a second officer this year alone. trish hartman joins us outside the 39th district where the officer was assigned in nicetown. trish you have the latest. >> reporter: alicia, we don't know the victim's name a ten year sergeant with the 39th district. investigators surrounded the scene of a crash that took the life of one of their own. the 32-year-old philadelphia police sergeant lost control of his 2014 dodge ram crashing into a tree on henry avenue near dupont street in roxborough. he was pronounced dead at einstein after arrival. his body was solemnly escorted by police to the medical examiner's office.

truck a crumpled mess his fell officers trying to come to terms with the loss of a second officer this year alone. trish hartman joins us outside the 39th police district where the officer was assigned, the department trying to put the pieces together. >> reporter: that's right, alicia, we are waiting to learn the name of the victim. police say he was a well-respected sergeant in the police district. investigators surrounded the scene of the crash that took the life of one of their own overnight. officials say the 32-year-old philadelphia police sergeant lost control of his 2014 dodge ram around midnight crashing into a tree on henry avenue near dupont street in the city's roxborough center. the officer was rushed to einstein where he was pronounced

dead shortly after arrival. his body was escorted from police to the medical examiner's office. investigators spent the night at the scene examining the wreckage trying to determine a calls. police say there was so much damage to the truck they were unable to determine if he was wearing a seat belt. in march sergeant robert wilson iii was shot and killed in the line of duty always he tried to stop a robbery in progress at a north philadelphia game stop. and, again, police say the police officer was off-duty when the crash happened. officers at the 39th district say he was just here at work yesterday. they say he held a supervisory role in the department. they said grief counselors are here this morning helping those officers who are just learning about the deadly crash, we're live in tioga-nicetown, trish hartman. >> we'll continue to follow the story all day and online, our

coverage includes a slide show of the deadly crash. go to our website for the latest on the investigation. >> police in burlington county are investigate a shooting of a teenager overnight. the action wam was on -- cam was on the scene in mount laurel. a 17-year-old was shot in the chest at his home. he was rushed to cooper university medical center in stable condition. no motive or suspect in the shooting. the action cam was on the scene in delaware county i-95 south, tractor-trailer carrying mail ran off the road and hit a bunch of trees, you can ciancia damage to the guard -- you can see damage to the guardrail where where the truck left the road. no word on injuries, pennsylvania state police are investigating what caused this crash. the family of a man killed

by two south jersey police officers is calling for a federal investigation. jerome reid was shot and killed during a traffic stop that was caught on dash cam. a grand jury decided not to charge the officers. jeff chirico has more. >> i feel that justice was not served. my son did does not have justicd i don't have no peace. >> reporter: sure -- surrounded by family members shalia reid wants federal investigation. >> as it played out in the south jersey times instead of seeking justice, the prosecutor acted as a defense attorney for

the officers to justify their actions. the officers shot reid after stepping out of the car. officer removed the gun from the glove compartment. >> officer took the gun out the car, so he was not no kind of threat by jerome. what was jerome going to do shoot him with empty hands. >> reporter: coordinating prosecutors officers thought reid had a weapon. he was perceives vowsly arrested for resisting -- previously arrest for resisting arrest and served prison time for shooting state troopers. >> i hope it puts a period at the end of the sentence. for others, they will be upset. >> reporter: hudson said his civil rights were violate

violated and promises for demonstrations to push for an investigation. >> we want and demand federal intervention in the case of jerome reid. >> reporter: hudson said he drafted a letter and intends to deliver to the u.s. attorney general later this week. the bridge port police department issued a statement saying they stand behind the officer's actions. in the satellite center, jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." >> happening tomorrow, attorney general kathleen kane will face a film father hearing in norse -- preliminary hearing in norristown. tomorrow principles of law will present the evidence that -- tomorrow prosecutors will present the evidence for the charges. kathleen kane has denied any wrong doing and has no plans to resign. police in south jersey are looking for a 24-year-old woman cooled of stabbing a relative. christina vasquez was accused of

stabbing a 26-year-old man in the back in wildwood wood. the victim was rushed to atlantic city medical center, vazquez is on the loose. a man from south jersey found with rosie o'donnell's missing teenager daughter has been arrested. steve sheer has been arrested for having inappropriate online communication with the 17-year-old. chelsea o'donnell was found on tuesday hours after her mother posted a statement online that her daughter was missing after leaving home earlier this month. a high ranking official in west mill folder has been fired for spraying a robins nest with a pesticide. he ordered staffers to destroy the nest, but they refused. he could face five years in prison if convicted of charges filed by the spca. he plans to fight the charges. new jersey craft beer
