>> crash left the officer's pickup a crumbled death. officers are trying to come to a loss of a second officer this year alone. trish hartman joins us outside the 39th district where the officer was assigned in nicetown. trish you have the latest. >> reporter: alicia, we don't know the victim's name a ten year sergeant with the 39th district. investigators surrounded the scene of a crash that took the life of one of their own. the 32-year-old philadelphia police sergeant lost control of his 2014 dodge ram crashing into a tree on henry avenue near dupont street in roxborough. he was pronounced dead at einstein after arrival. his body was solemnly escorted by police to the medical examiner's office.

expecter -- investigators examined the wreckage to determine a calls. this is the second philadelphia police officer killed this year. in march sergeant robert wilson iii was shot and killed in the line of duty always he tried to stop a robbery in progress at a north philadelphia game stop. and, again, police say the officer was off-duty when the crash happened. officers at the 39th district say the sergeant was at work yesterday. he held a supervisory role in the department and grief counselors are at the department helping co-workers who are learning about the loss of their co-worker this morning. live in tioga-nicetown, trish hartman. >> we'll follow this story all day for you on the air and online. 6abc.com includes a slide show of the deadly crash. go to the website for the latest on the investigation.

>> police in burlington county are investigating the shooting of a teenager overnight. the action cam was on the scene in mount laurel. a 17-year-old boy was shot in the chest at his home. he was rushed to cooper in stable condition. no motive or suspects in the shooting. the action cam was on the scene in delaware county overnight where where a postal truck ran off i-95. it happened near lower chichester near the delaware state line, the tractor-trailer carrying mail ran off the road and hit a bunch of trees. you can see the damage to the guardrail where the truck went off the road. one lane got bias crews work -- got by, as crews worked to get the truck out of the tree. a family is calling for a

truck a crumpled mess his fell officers trying to come to terms with the loss of a second officer this year alone. trish hartman joins us outside the 39th police district where the officer was assigned, the department trying to put the pieces together. >> reporter: that's right, alicia, we are waiting to learn the name of the victim. police say he was a well-respected sergeant in the police district. investigators surrounded the scene of the crash that took the life of one of their own overnight. officials say the 32-year-old philadelphia police sergeant lost control of his 2014 dodge ram around midnight crashing into a tree on henry avenue near dupont street in the city's roxborough center. the officer was rushed to einstein where he was pronounced

dead shortly after arrival. his body was escorted from police to the medical examiner's office. investigators spent the night at the scene examining the wreckage trying to determine a calls. police say there was so much damage to the truck they were unable to determine if he was wearing a seat belt. in march sergeant robert wilson iii was shot and killed in the line of duty always he tried to stop a robbery in progress at a north philadelphia game stop. and, again, police say the police officer was off-duty when the crash happened. officers at the 39th district say he was just here at work yesterday. they say he held a supervisory role in the department. they said grief counselors are here this morning helping those officers who are just learning about the deadly crash, we're live in tioga-nicetown, trish hartman. >> we'll continue to follow the story all day and online, our
