tuesday night, and jim's off i'm rick williams. the big story on "action news" is the arrest of the east norriton woman accused of ripping off donors to the tune of thousands. "action news" reporter sharrie williams is live at montgomery county courthouse with the the sorted tail, sharrie. >> reporter: and rick, investigators say that tracie small kratzer pretended to be a friend, but she was only a crook. they say that she robbed this family blind and then used this charity money, on herself. devon henson loves her husband, and when asked, she's moved to tears. >> just a hard working, good father, and just a great, amazing man. >> reporter: two have been married for five years and they have two children. but last christmas, jay was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer and the cancer has spread to his liver. >> he is a fighter. he is fighting.

he is handling the chemo. >> reporter: hearing of jay's illness a friend named crazy kratzer volunteered to set up a web site to raise money for the family. kratzer created a donation page on the web site you caring.com and donations began to pour in. >> it was amazing. you know, watching, you know, my family, friend and people i do not even know donate to go my husband. >> reporter: kratzer, however, linked donations from the web site to her personal bank account, and she told the henson's she could not reach them right away for their info and that is why she did it. weeks would come and go but henson's could not get in touch with kratzer, even though they could see people were donating to the site. finally, they called the police. the montgomery county d.a. says kratzer collect more than $10,000, and then used it on herself. shopping at places like target and toys-r-us. the the web site, was all a

the home. fire fighters had to sound a second alarm to help extinguish the blaze. from the ground, an "action news" viewer recorded this video as the home burned. fortunately no one was hurt. this reminder when you see news happen, you can share it with us on social media using the hashtag six abc action. well, they are trying to sense the the driver of the jeep went out of control on southbound route 13, just north of the old churchman's road. it crashed through airport fence, traveled across part of the property and took out runway lights before coming to a stop. state police have not said whether it is a medical emergency that happened or mechanical malfunction, or perhaps a criminal act. that caused the eradic path. former, professional wrestling star jimmy super fly snuka is facing murder charges tonight. he posted bail hours after being arrested on charges he murdered his girlfriend more than three decade ago. back in may of 1983 snuka was

attending a world wrestling federation taping at allentown fair ground when he returned to his hotel room he found 23 year-old nancy argentina, gasping for air. she died a few hours later. autopsy determined that she died from dramatic brain injuries. she had cuts and bruises consistent being with hit. wwe says nook ace under a non-wrestling legends contract with the company, but that contract, is now being reviewed. outrage continues, on social media tonight, concerning this german shepherd peppy named porter who was shot and killed in a public park in roxborough. no charges have been filed because the the shooter, who had a permit to carry a weapon said the dog growled and lung at his wife. porter's owner a says his 11 month-old pup was 20 feet away and never a danger. in fact he was chasing a ball at the time. the despite strong reaction on facebook, police say no crime was committed, and that porter the pup should have been on the leash in the first place.

owner of the west philadelphia funeral home is facing criminal charges tonight after yesterday's grizzly discovery. three decomposing bodies were found inside of the hawkins funeral parlor at 53rd and vine. the investigators say the facility was operating without a license. tonight, owner blair hawkins, is facing three counts of abuse of a corpse. last week police made a similar discovery in the strawberry mansion garage owned by yet another funeral home, that was also, a allegedly operating illegally. well, month of september got off to a sweltering start today. with the the mercury topping 90 degrees, again, today mark our area's fifth heat wave, and probably not our last one. that is why tonight, it was perfect for a scoop or two of the cold treat, or dining outside in the city. or even taking in an evening jog, when temperatures cooled down a bit. let's head outside to melissa magee for late word from accu weather, melissa. >> yeah rick, as you mentioned it was a scorcher today and hot air sticking around for

billboard, like this one, are going up to generate, more buzz. pope francis has made a major change in the way the catholic church treats women who have had an abortion. during the year of mercy, which starts this december, he says that catholic priest will be able to forgive women from the sin of abortion. pope said that he realizes some women felt they had no choice but to make the agonizing, painful decision n most countries only a bishop can approve forgiveness for abortion. they now grant a priest permanent to hear the confession. tonight, an event focusing on immigration archbishop charles chaput responded to the announcement. he said many priests in the united states, including here in philadelphia, have been offering absolution. >> in some places priest has permission, and the the bishop, before granting absolution and that has not been the case here for a very long time. i think the pope is directing his word to another placees in the world.

illinois a manhunt is underway for three suspects after a police officer was shot and killed. and tonight officer were going door to door searching for 39 men. this all started this morning when the lieutenant, charles, radioed in he was chasing three suspects. communication was lost and when back autopsy arrived they found the officer on the ground. the officer had been shot, his gun was missing. he was a 32 year veteran of the force, and father of four.
