the thrilling event happening now over the beaches and boardwalk. >> more protests in baltimore after the police officers charged in the death of freddie gray go to court. and now a developing story, police are investigating a possible murder-suicide at the jersey shore, a family of four were found dead overnight after a fire in their home in long branch, monmouth county. they appear to have injuries that started before the fire. 35-year-old lyndon baharry. and his wife and children all died after medics took them to the hospital. we'll have a full report at 12:30. also, developing this noon secretary of state, john kerry, just finished making his case for the iran nuclear deal. he finished making his address after the senate democrats got

enough support to keep the deal alive. vernon odom is live now where kerry just wrapped up that speech. >> reporter: sara, secretary kerry spoke for about an hour this morning winning enough support on capitol hill to pass this nuclear deal with iran. >> president obama and i are convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that the framework we put forward will get the job done. >> secretary of state, john kerry, stumping in philadelphia today for the iran nuclear deal, even as president obama clinched victory over the landmark battle. the announcements by two senators, bob casey, of pennsylvania, and chris couns of delaware were for the agreement.

the president would veto that resolution and moments ago senator barbara mikulski became the last vote needed to keep any veto from being overridden. it was in the eyes of so many for so long a pariah nation, not to be trusted not to build a nuclear weapon, the secretary of state says it's the best deal to be made to constrain iran's nuclear program. >> without this agreement, iran can continue to expand their stockpile of enriches uranium, enough if further enriches for multiple bombs. >> the audience here was largely made up of university students but the obama nuclear deal is

now considered veto proof in the u.s. senate. vernon odom, channel 6 "action news." >> before secretary kerry went to center city, he stopped here at 6 abc for an interview with our own matt o'donnell. you can see the story tonight on "action news" at 6:00. and we'll post it online at 6abc.com. chester police are investigating two murders, both victims were shot to death in their cars. the most recent happened at 1:00 a.m. on butler street, they found a man dead inside of a white buick riddled with bullet holes, hours later a man was killed when his black saab was hit multiple times at 5th and lloyd streets. the city of chester has recorded 16 homicides this year. students in the chester, upland school district, headed back to school today and their teachers did too, not knowing when they will get their next

temperatures respond to that. 85 in philadelphia, and washington 88, 93 in richmond where they have had a bit more sunshine. we'll see the sunshine poke through through the clouds and we think the temperatures warm up further still, the dew points up near 70 degrees, feeling horribly humid out there today as you step outside. we expect that to continue not just today but tomorrow as well. keeping the heat and humidity. the air quality is an issue once again today and that means the air quality is unhealthy for sentencetive groups. hopefully you got that run in or whatever else you needed to do, so you can stay indoors when it feels uncomfortable. satellite 6 along with action radar shows thick clouds early on and the clouds rolled in and now we start to see breaks here and there, and they are thinning out and we see more of that sunshine filter through the clouds, if you head out this afternoon, you can expect it to

be hot and humid and a mix of sunshine and clouds and temperatures at 1:00 p.m. 88 degrees and by 3:00 p.m., 92, really warming up today and keeping the hot and humid trend, we'll have details on how long it lasts coming up in the seven-day forecast in just a few minutes. >> it may be hot but thousands of people have their eyes to the skies now for the atlantic city air show, the u.s. navy blue angels are just one of the great acts over the boardwalk today. annie mccormick is live with a front row seat. >> reporter: hey sara, i can hear them buzzes around and the air show just started moments ago and it's hard to track the planes because they are moving so fast. i can tell you right now the boardwalk is packed and so are the beaches. >> how much has this grown over the 13 years you have done it. >> it has grown last year's estimate was 800,000.

low enforcement in northern illinois expanded their search for three suspects wantsed in the shooting death of a police officer. the lute aren't called into dispatchering yesterday morning to say he was chasing three men on foot, communication was quickly lost and they found the lieutenant with a gunshot wound

and he died shortly after. there are more than 400 officers and 40 k-9 units and numerous aircrafts searching for the suspects, several schools are closed today. authorities are keeping close watch on protesters in baltimore today, this is the sixth baltimore police officers charged in the death of freddie gray make their first appearances in court. dozens of people rallies outs side all morning and some were pushed back by police and one man was pulled away in handcuffs, others blocked a main road near the city's inner harbor, inside of the courtroom, a judge refused to dismiss charges against the six officers, contributing to gray's death, he died after receiving a severe injury while in police custody. it happened at light bridge academy, in cran ford, new jersey, pruders say that kenny

and whiten couraged girls as young as 4 years old to battle each other on camera, they sent video of the kids punching each other to friends on snap chat, they were both charged with child abuse and both were fired. a nanny accused of abusing children in her care was returned to ireland, after being cleared of all charges. >> they said she murdered a child in the boston area in 2013, but prosecutors could not support their initial finding of shaken baby syndrome. she served two years in a jail before prosecutors dropped the charges. a massachusetts teacher held hostage by an armed student in a classroom, talks about what she experienced. she was an educator for 30 years

the apple store is now selling drones with you they are not i drones just yet, apple began selling the phantom 3 yesterday, a drone created by a chinese company called dji, it's sold for $300 online and in stores across the country, it has a 3 hour flight time and there is a cheaper version for just under $1,000. but has a lower quality camera. mcdonalds selling breakfast starting on october 6th, some

earlier, the pressure is falling and we started this morning with a warm and muggy 73 in the city, and in the suburbs we were in the 60s, but waking in the 70s you know there is a hot day ahead. we had clear skies overnight and then the clouds moved in and we are dealing with clouds and sunshine and we are dry today but looking for clouds and sunshine to mix in and allowing the temperatures to heat up, you'll get an afternoon sea breeze but it has not quite kicked in yet, that will drop the temperatures back, overall 83, and as high as 86 in pomona. in the lehigh valley, you see more sun than here in the city, mostly sunny skies today and humid a high today of 92 degrees, really hot even in the lehigh valley, today we expect a high of 93, we hit it at 3:00 or

it is 12:30 now and rick is along later today. police are investigating a possible murder-suicide. a family of four was found dead inside of a fire at this home in long branch. according to investigators that fire was set on fire on purpose.

>> reporter: this cell phone video shows the chaos as emergency crews responded to the scene, witnesses say the flames were small but the smoke pouring out of the house was thick. >> it was like a bang, two big bangs, i was trying to figure out what was happening, you don't think something that late is going on and i run outside because i think someone is fighting and you see this lady and other gentlemen outside of the house screaming, there are kids inside. help help. get an ambulance, they found the victims trapped inside a second floor bedroom, they all had injuries that occurred before the fire, the victims were all part of the same family, the mom and dad were not married but had a 4-year-old and 7-year-old. >> these four individuals are amanda morris, 29 years old. lyndon shane
