the eagles add a 3rd quarter back to their roster and 88-year-old woman disappears on her way to her home on delaware county. the big story on "action news" is another beautiful day as we mark unofficial end to the summer. from city to shore basking under light skies and sunny breezes. and enjoying the evening in ocean city. hey, trish. >> reporter: hey, walter, we're here on the boardwalk where folks are getting last funnel cake and ice cream cone and maybe that last popcorn. this is my friend reilly what do you have in the bag. >> popcorn. >> carmel corn delicious up and down the jersey shore and perfect day to the beach or boardwalk or block party. >> the waves were calm today. >> beachs in ocean city were packed and waves much smaller to the delight of swimmers like etor decas and son nico. >> it was rough yesterday the riptide was strong it was crazy

parkway for day two of made in america festivalch the music spread across five stages and tickets are sold out. it's it the fourth year this event organized the by jay-z and he and his wife beyonce head lined the show. others were excited for the weekend, including one group that came to philadelphia all the way from new orleans. >> i have been the fan of the weekend since 011 i wanted to see him. >> organizers expected 140,000 people to pack the parkway overall for the weekend concerts and in past years there's been a second festival on the west coast but this year philadelphia is the only place to be and you couldn't ask for a better day to be outside. it's hot and comfortable. can we expect a trifecta. meteorologist melissa magee joins us outside for the check of the accuweather forecast. >> hi there, walter, as you mentioned the weekend so far so good across the delaware and lehigh valley and looks action

like as he chose the holiday weekend tomorrow dry conditions prevail. check out numbers across the region, 86. not that comfortable in the city. 76. along the coast in cape may a little cooler, 76. 84 out to the west in lancaste lancaster. so if you step out on the town, we have a really nice sunday evening planned for you and it's stale partly sunny at 7 p.m. tonight. that temperature around 83. mostly clear at 8 p.m. we'll drop down to 80 and upper 70s at 9 and 10 p.m. underneath a mostly clear sky. couple changes on the way as we get to monday. due point the level of moisture in the air and by monday relatively pleasant for this time year. you'll notice the changes as we get to tuesday, wednesday, and for that matter thursday. you can feel the difference in the air mass on the way and as it moves on through the 90s make it come back as well. we'll talk about what is ahead. dry once again as we close out labor day and rests of holiday weekend and 90s as we get into the rest of this week. and in fact, i'm tracking

"action news" reporter jeff chirico is live in radnor with the full sotry and jeff the police are trying to track her by way of her cellphone. >> reporter: that's right, walter, this is the woman lillian margolis missing now for 21 hours. she has a cellphone and that has been helpful. she's not answering it. but police have been able to track its signal. >> this is the woman police

need the public's help in finding 88-year-old lillian margolis who left her family's house 500 block adder bury road at 9 saturday night heading to her home at mar is grove senior living in glen mills a half hour away and never made it after her family reported her missing this morning radnor township police contacted her cellphone provider which tracked her location. at 9:37 in new garden chester county. more than an hour later in kennett square and at noon the cellphone was on old marple road in springfield, delaware county and 42 minutes later in upper darby. margolis was driving a white 0 002 nissan maxima like this one with handicapped license mraitd pd 5848 d. >> this is active investigation. they're requesting to be on the lookout for margolis to reunite her with her family. >> and police don't suspect

foul playch the family tells police that she had no history of dementia. we learned within the past few minutes that last night at 11 she apparently was as as far as south as hartford, maryland. she also has been through west philadelphia, montgomery county and just after 5:00 her cellphone told police that she was in that upper darby area. we're told radnor trp police are there right now. if you do see lillian margolis or white nissan you're asked to call 911. we're live in radnor township, delaware county, jeff chirico, "channel 6 action news." >> a woman was injured when struck by a police vehicle in the city could be creek in morning 10 a.m. on the 5600 block of smrus street. she was rushed to presbyterian hospital where she remains in critical condition. no word on her identity or who was at fault. >> a police officer in philadelphia is recovering after being assaulted this morning in north philadelphia. it happened at about 10 a.m. on north 22 and somerset streets.

>> the nation of hungry will allow refugees to use trains for going to europe. that led to a huge buildup of people at train staying and that in turn resulted in hundreds of people simply trying to walk across the country. many of these people are from syria trying to escape a bloody civil war pope francis is calling on catholics across europe to house these refugees. he went on to say that every catholic parish, convent, monastery and sanctuary in europe should do the same and in fact he called on church as around the world to do whatever they can to help. >> world news sunday will have the latest on refugee crisis at 6:30 coming up after "action news". >> and meanwhile people across our area continue to countdown to the pope's visit later this

month. church of christian compassion held a block party today and while this event has become a four year tradition this year is special as they prepare for world meeting of families. annie mccormick has more. >>reporter: >> this southwest philadelphia block party had everything from cotton . >> i was laughing and yeah. >> pastor lonnie herdan calls this a kick start ahead of the world heating of families. >> we're excited about the world meeting of families and i know it begins in a few weeks. we wanted to begin today. >> and the church of christian compassion is baptist and they welcome all denominations they believe the world meeting of families and visit is not about what faith you are but family. >> what we have in common we all love god and really want to

last night has been found. "action news" reporter geoff jov is live in radnor with the latest, jeff. >> reporter: that's rite, walter, we learned a few moments ago that lillian was found newspaperer darby apparently driving upon a flat tivrment police noticed her and found her and are now currently taking her to the upper darby police department. as we told you at the top of the show she went missing after leaving her son's house around 9:00 last night in villanova. she was heading to glen mills. but ended up as far as south as maryland. and thanks to the cellphone that she had in her car police were able to track its signal to -- into philadelphia, montgomery documenty and throughout delaware and chester counties. but objection we just learned that lillian margolis has been found safe. she was driving on a flat tire when police noticed her and she's being taken to the upper darby police department where she will be reunited with her family a very happy ending to this story. we've live radnor township,

reading and along the coast, however, it is cool with that constant northeasterly breeze and starting to shift a little bit from southerly direction. nonthe les cooler at the coast and 5 cape may and 76 atlantic city. we have a ridge of high pressure over the coast of new england. we're tap into return flow. mostly clear, dry, quiet, keeping all of the moisture and cloud cover mainly away from the region. as we goat monday and beyond, however, this ridge of high pressure moves further offshore and we tap into the return flow. southwesterly winds come back which means the heat and the humidity make a come back as well. and the call from accuweather for the rest of tonight, few patchy clouds, seasonably dry and comfortable evening and 57 for the overnight low in suburbs and we'll drap down to 66 in philadelphia. and fast forward monday for the actual holiday on labor day all about the temperatures, 8:00 in the morning it's 70 city and 68 in poconos and 73 there in wildwood. but with that southerly wind

moving on in, nearing 90 once again along the 9 5 corridor 4:00 tomorrow and if we hit 90 this will more than likely start beginning of a heat wave for philadelphia. taking down to the tropics kee keeping a close eye on what is now trap call storm grace winds sustained 50 miles an hour and west of the cape verde islands and strengthing with the storm system and moving west 14 miles an hour over the next 4 to 48 hours. we'll keep you posted with that. back at the shore tomorrow mos mostly sunny and warm. high of 84. there's a moderate risk once again for rip current for labor day always a good idea to swim where lifeguards are on duty and city and poconos, 8, sunshine and clouds, it's a pleasant afternoon tomorrow. here's the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast. sunny, gets a little hotter tomorrow and still humidity remains low. up to 90 degrees. hot and more humid by tuesday at 93. and humid on wednesday with afternoon showers or storms, 9
