1,000 acres now 100% contained. new jersey correspondent, nora muchanic is live at the fire command post in woodland township, burlington county. nora because it's 100% contained, does that mean the work is done? >> no it does not. the fire is not over but this is good news for the forest fire service, they are putting in round the clock efforts to contain the fire. we got a feel for how fierce the flames are and it was intense. >> this is what it's like inside of the 1,000 acre fire. the fire that started monday afternoon and spread from burlington to ocean county, continues to consume acre after acre of forest. >> measurable rain we have not had for at loost two weeks, the bigger fuel like logs and large branches they are completely consuming down to ash.

>> it's a difficult day to work the fire line with temperatures up into the 90s with the heat and smoke here, firefighters are worried about heat exhaustion, we want to change out the crews as they get fatigue. >> flames are fueled by the dry turf on the floor, it's basically gasoline for the fire. >> it's hard to put out and continuously smokes and take a lot of manpower. >> part of the attack includes these golf balls as the firefighters call them, they are injected with a chemical while a helicopter is over the fire zone and it takes 25 to 30 seconds as they are dropped to the forest floor. >> there san unburned island, and it's safe toward do this from the air instead of risking firefighter safety. we want to stop the fire from making runs throughout the day tomorrow or if the wind changes,

traffic court judge acquitted in a ticket fixing scheme is facing tax charges, the u.s. attorney's office charged michael sullivan with one counts of failing to report and pay payroll taxes if convicted sullivan faces 1 year in prison and a $25,000 fine. we hear about distracted driving but we have not heard about distracted driving by a philadelphia ambulance driver until now. forced to call 911 on himself, police in delaware say that michael claude broke into middle school yesterday, that the 19-year-old put on someone's letter jacket and rode the buffing machine and then claude got stuck in the school's elevator and he called 911 for help and the police came and charged him with criminal mischief and theft. a handful of parents showed their support for former teacher, margie winters today. they surprised her at her home in glen side. winters was fired this summer from the private catholic school after the parents complained they was married to another woman. the alarm sounded for the first day of school for many this morning, "action news" was there with a family in philadelphia, and sam bradford is set to lead the eagles in

the information is in, the made in america festival attracted more people than ever this year, mayor michael nutter says that 130,000 people attended the two day concert on the ben franklin parkway and called it a big success. >> we can say that we have the infrastructure in play and the experience to manage events of this magnitude on the parkway as well as in other parts of the city. made in america gave the city a chance to test the grid system on the parkway and the signs are expected to help the crowds navigate the area when pope francis comes to philadelphia later this month. lets get the late word from

front and intensifying the rain and bringing an end to the heat wave, tonight will be a warm night, patchy fog developing and 74 in philadelphia and 73 in cape may, reading 68 and trenton and wilmington 70. tomorrow the three h's, hazy, hot and humid and the high is 92 degrees, the heat index close toward 92 degrees, when you factor in the humidity levels in the 70s, could get a late day thunderstorm in philadelphia and the bulk of the rain is holding off until thursday, that is when the low pressure moves in over us, the rain depends on your location north and west of i-95, you'll be in the cooler section of the storm, more stable and a steadier rain south and east of i-95, where it's warmer and less stable and we'll see thunderstorms developing and this is what we want to see, future tracker showing 1 to 2 inches of rain, much needed rain and hopefully it's a slower rain
