new britain township after 1:00 p.m. a 17-year-old driver lost control of a pick up truck and ran into a drainage ditch and hit a pole and mail box. he was killed immediately. police are looking into whether drinking and driving were cause of the crash after open beer cans were found inside the truck. water crews are out in hunting park this morning after a water main break flooded streets at west moreland street. the break spilled $350 million of water. it took crews two hours to get the main shut off and restore pressure to residents. hunting park avenue is closed until further notice. >> once the cleanup efforts are done we'll assess the damage to the water main and working to

forecast. >> reporter: good morning to you, nydia, it's ashame the eagles home opener isn't today instead of next sunday because it feels like fall now. what a change we've had in the weather pattern over the last few days, during the 71 day stretch from july 1 to september 9 we picked up 4.14 inches of rain. a lot of that fell in one shot. we had one day where we picked up the drenching downpours. most of the 71 days we were bone dry. since thursday, we've had nearly 5 inches of rain in philadelphia. a lot of heavy downpours thursday evening and we picked up more yesterday afternoon. look at reading, 2 1/2 inches with the low pressure system that developed across the mid atlantic and ran up the eastern seaboard. lancaster, 1.5. poconos an inch. allentown .3.

died. he led to the sixers to an nba championship in 1983. he was was named the league m.v.p. three times. the 6'10" center was nicknamed chairman of the board. he was just 60 years old. police in bucks county are investigating a crash that killed one teenager and sent three others to the hospital. it happened on the 700 block of north lime kiln pike in new britain township after 1:00 p.m. police say a 17-year-old driver lost control of a pick up truck ran into a drainage ditch and hit a mail box and flipped the truck over. he was killed immediately. three others were hurt, one is in critical condition. police are looking into whether drinking an driving led to the crash after open beer cans were found inside the truck. a massive water main break sent water gushing into the street and businesses in hunting park. the four foot break left a huge

hole in the road and crews will be busy fixing the break and the big mess behind. annie mccormick joins us live on west moreland street with the details. >> reporter: annie and nydia i want to say the progress they have made on hunting park avenue that roadway throughout the night was covered in mud. they've working to get the mud remove. but there's a lot of cleanup they will have throughout the day. saturday night this was the scene as rising water filled the roadway causing dangerous driving conditions in hunting park. the cause a 48-inch main break that spilled 15 million gallons of water on the street and nearby properties. the break caused damage on the property of this u-haul facility always the ground caved in. >> we're working to get hunting park back open. it will be closed between fox and 29th. once the cleanup efforts are done we'll begin assessing the

damage to the water main and working to excavate to get a visual on it. >> reporter: this area of the city is no stranger to the water marijuana break. last june water flooded the shopping complex at fox and roberts. customers had to be rescued from rising waters. months before the same shopping complex had a water main break it took weeks for store owners to clean up water damage. taking a living love at the parking lot of the u-haul facility. you can see the pavement buckled. there's a lot of time work to do where little portion has caved in from the pressure of the water. hungt park avenue is -- hunting park avenue is closed and will remain closed for a significant amount of time until they repair the problem. faa is investigating another plane crash in south jersey, the pilot david sees of

marlton was killed when is cessna 150 crashed on the 600 block of jackson road in atco camden county. it happened as the pilot's friend watched from the ground yesterday morning. >> i waved to him i seen him cut the plane and the plane dropped and he throttled back up. i heard the plane hit. >> the ntsb and the faa are investigating. it could take months to determine the cause of the crash. that crash is the second crash in new jersey, these pictures show a plane that crashed into the atlantic on thursday. the train's transmission went silent for two hours from the flight from michigan. the pilot 68-year-old michael moir was the only person on board. he was heading to atlantic city

at the time of the crash. he had 40 years experience flying planes. police in cumberland county are looking for suspects in a shooting that left a man in critical condition. it happened on the 500 morocco of east avenue in fairfield township. police received 911 calls of gun shots in the area. when they arrived they found a man in his 20s with a gunshot wound to the held. he was flown to cooper university million center in critical condition. -- university medical center in critical condition. the search continues for a driver who hit a police officer on a motorcycle and kept going. it happened at east 4th and morton streets in chester, delaware county. the driver made a left turn and clipped daniel hoffman motorcycle. hoffman was injured but expected to make full recovery. it was a late model pontiac grand prix with a green hood trunk or bumper. if you have information call police immediately.

there's a new trial date in the case of a south jersey train derailment which sent a dangerous chemical in the air. the crash released vinyl chloride. 2 dozen people sued conrail. ntsb said conrail was wrong to continue opening and closing the swinging bridge with the train went off the tracks. the trial was to gin this week, but delayed -- begin this week, but was delayed as both sides work toward a settlement. the case is scheduled to go to trial in november. people who live in the traffic enforcement zone can get parking passes. parking restrictions go into effect next time sunday. the city will waive the 20-dollar fee to park in a designated garage if you have a valid parking permit. starting tomorrow parking
