we had very little rain over the past month but that is about to change. we have some soakers coming. getting the latest information from accuweather and meteorologist cecily tynan. >> and jim, we could get a 1-2 punch of heavy rain this week. the second punch from this. this just formed a little bit before 11:00. this is tropical storm joakim. 40-mile-per-hour winds. the 10th named storm of the tropical hurricane season, the atlantic hurricane season. between bermuda and miami. a lot of the computer models do show it moving to the west and then covering up towards the mid-atlantic over the weekend. i will actually show you the computer models, the spaghetti plots in my full accuweather forecast. in the meantime, we've got another system on the way tomorrow. water vapor showing here is joakim right here. and then there is low pressure over the gulf coast. and this will be streaming up, really pulled up towards us with the cold front tomorrow night. this can bring us very heavy rain. we need the rain, expected rain

tomorrow night into wednesday morning. we're looking at a general 1-2 inches of rain. farther up to the northwest, central pennsylvania can get 4-6 inches of rain and this is welcome. in the past 48 days only two days with more than .1 of an inch of rain. september 10 close to five inches of rain. i'll talk more about how much rain to expect with the system, the timing and the weekend with tropical storm joakim coming up in the full accuweather forecast. >> all right, cecily. a triple shooting tonight in philadelphia sends two women and a child to the hospital. the young girl who was shot in the thigh is believed to be under 10 years old. gunfire erupted in a home in the 5000 block in feltonville. at 8:30. the authorities have not made an arrest, but the victims a pair presently knew the suspect. the police are still at a house in bensalem where the body

after 25-year-old woman was found in morning in the bathroom of the berkley trace apartments. and walter perez is live at 3806 bensalem boulevard. what is happening there? >> jim, as you mentioned the victim's body was found this morning. but investigators are still on the scene at the berkley trace apartments on bensalem boulevard. they are conducting a very thorough investigation. the local authorities tell me they feel confident that formal charges can be filed as early as tomorrow morning. neighbors describe 25 year old dilara ozen as a lovely young woman who kept to herself. >> she is very quiet. she more or less came and gent -- went into the apartment and that's it. and if you don't know somebody, you wish could you have helped, it is horrible. >> and betty mitchell living next door is talking about the discovery of the neighbor's body in the bathroom. it is ozen's mother that made the discovery about 10:00 this

morning. others say it comes on the heels of difficult weekend with ozen and andrew messner described as her on-again off-again boyfriend. >> there was random screaming, yelling. screaming really loud after 10:30. and the cars, like stretching wheels back and forth. >> the public safety director says that messner has been questioned, but as of right now is still only considered a person of interest in the case. >> he is going to be sent off to a bucks county prison later for an outstanding warrant from may of 2015. we are holding him on that. >> that bench warrant was issued after messner failed to show up for a court hearing after allegedly assaulting ozen earlier this year. the local investigators are still looking for added information. anyone who knows anything about this case is asked to call the bensalem police. reporting live from bensalem,

walter perez, channel "action news." jim? >> thank you, walter. the authorities in montgomery county say the victim of a deadly home invasion was targeted. 53 year old kevin brown died after being shot in the neck by intruders last night. it happened in his home on the 2300 block. and brown and his wife jumped from a second-floor window to escape but brown died at the hospital. police say they have leads and the family is cooperating. the philadelphia police are investigating the death of a 13-year-old boy killed by a forklift. ethan shoemaker and several went to the newman paper company in wissinoming and they started driving forklifts for fun and there was a collision. ethan died at the scene. his family said the property should have been better secured. the company released a statement today offering its condolences. word tonight, a seemingly innocent mistake ended with

tragic consequences. a 43-year-old man got into the wrong car in northeast philadelphia gas station on saturday and was shot to death by the driver. that man told the police that he thought that he was being car jacked. the homicide detectives are investigating to see if charges are warranted. they identity find the dead man as malcolm king. rutger's university under another cyber attack today, at least the fifth one on the network in the past year. today's attack from 10:00 in the morning until midafternoon affected email, wireless internet access and the school's online course management system. the university says no data was compromised and working with the state and local law enforcement officials. after an attack in august, they hired three cyber security firms to protect computer networks. still to come tonight, bribery charges dropped against

a sobbing joyce mitchell learned her fate today months after helping two inmates escape from a maximum security prison in upstate new york. the judge sentenced the former prison worker to 2-7 years behind bars. mitchell admitted to smuggling in hacksaw blades and other tools that richard matt and david sweat used to escape. they were on the run for two weeks before the authorities skilled matt and captured sweat.

it will help really siphon up the tropical rain from the low pressure near florida, and that will also possibly help bring a tropical storm close to our coast over the weekend. this week we have a soggy set-up. the first low pressure over the gulf will bring us heavy rain tomorrow into wednesday. and tropical storm joakim could affect the mid-atlantic over the weekend. first we talk about tomorrow. futurer track ershowing clouds. and tomorrow night, by 9:00 heavy rain along i-95. areas to the west. overnight into the morning hours, i think the wednesday morning commute will be wet, especially across south jersey. and even during the day looking at a lot of clouds and waves of rain. that's the first system. then we have the second one. tropical storm joakim, maximum sustained winds now 40 miles per hour. it is right between bermuda and

the bahamas. the spaghetti plots show it hitting anywhere from north carolina to parts of new england. but if you look at the most concentration it has it heading towards the mid-atlantic on saturday. if that happens, we will be talking about high winds, heavy rain and potential of coastal flooding. a lot can change but something i will continue to track. the seven-day forecast is humid tomorrow with showers, and steady rain tomorrow night. the rain continues into wednesday, windy and 74 degrees. and thursday it gets chilly. 63 degrees. windy. lot of clouds. friday, breezy and cool, some rain, 63. and saturday again watching the coast for tropical storm joakim. 66. and then we dry things out sunday, and partly sunny 68. and monday, sun mixes with clouds with a high of 70 degrees. time to find the umbrellas for tomorrow and time for me to get
