stormtracker 6 live double scan showing the rain that is falling right now is limited. we have a few showers in parts of western berks county and lancaster county and there is heavy rain moving through the northern lehigh valley right now, martins creeks you see how that is lifting up to the north away from us, that is the heavy rain that moved through philadelphia earlier this afternoon but the heavy rain is still out to the west, if you look at the big picture on live double scan live radar, there is this conveyer belt of moisture, thanks to low pressure over kentucky and what this low pressure can do is track across central pennsylvania in the overnight hours, that is really the access of the heaviest rain overnight and we'll get a soaking, future tracker 6 showing the heaviest rain is in the overnight hours especially in the northwest suburbs and that lingers into early tomorrow morning, this is what to expect over the next 12 hours, this is

damage here is well over $1500 and that say felony than could lead to severe penalties. live in minquadale, david henry, channel 6 "action news." students at temple university are on edge after two women were attacked blocks apart near campus last night. the first happened at 10:00 p.m. on thompson street, a woman was with two friends when she was approached and they grabbed her when her friends put up a fight, about an hour later, a student was sexually assaulted on carlyle street. two others students say they are concern sfwld you never know, you could be walking home from class or the library and you never know, if something is going to happen to you. >> so now looking at surveillance cameras in the area, both attacks to see if the suspects were caught on tape. a delaware county student was arrested at school this

morning after another student spotted him with what appeared to be a gun, chopper 6 hd was overhead as the police took the student into custody, for taking what looked like a gun into his waist band, that gun turned out to be a toy and vernon odom will have more on the lockdown and the charges the students is facing coming up at 6:00. 11 people were hurt when a septa bus crashed into a light this morning, it happened in west philadelphia and chopper 6 hd is over the scene of haverford and landsdowne avenues, none of the injuries were serious but the cause of the crash remains under investigation. it has been nearly 48 hours since pope francis said his final good-byes to philadelphia, crews are still working to clear the trash and jumbotrons from the ben franklin parkway. john rawlins live with more.

to the north and west, and that system is coming in over the overnight hours, and winds from the southwest, it feels like august, philadelphia 85 degrees so far, and the average time this time of year is 73, that is 12 degrees above normal and felt more above normal with the humidity. atlantic city airport a warm and humid day, 85 degrees, satellite 6 along with action radar showing the low pressure that is moving in overnight is currently over kentucky and tennessee and what this will be doing is tracking right over central pennsylvania, that is really the focus of the heavier rain where they can get 4 to 6 inches of rain but we are looking at heavy rain overnight while most of us are sleeping, 8:00 still pretty dry season cloudy in philadelphia and showers northern and west and as we head overnight 2:30 heavier showers rolling in and perhaps a rumble of thunder, the morning rush

hour not widespread heavy rain but areas of showers and they linger into the afternoon and by 3:00 in the afternoon plenty of clouds with a scattering of showers, future trackers show through wednesday, the heaviest rain north and west and south and east of i-95 likely a half inch or less, this is showing 5 inches in the lehigh valley, and that i think is overdone but the heaviest rain is north and west of philadelphia and allentown could get easy more than 2 inches of rain and tropical storm joaquin is ikechuku ndukwe just drifting south south we have of the bahamas, looking like it will continue to drift over the next three days, look what happens it become a category one hurricane tomorrow and makes the turn to the north and west on friday and continues to climb offshore, you look at this track, you think we are going to be okay, but the

problem show, the tropical moisture will be pulled inland, we can get as much rain with an offshore storm than with a direct hit. in the meantime, the five-day at 5:00 showing it's going to be wet, tomorrow morning rain tapering to showers and 80 degrees and could be showers for the u.s. open championships at ppl park tomorrow night. on thursday, the winds pick up and heavy rain in the evening and 62 degrees and that continues into friday and friday is really probably the wettest day in the next five days, saturday showers and 68 degrees and sunday tracking the potential for more rain, 68 when will we see the sunshine again. we need the rain we'll get plenty. ññ

this point but extremely muggy, the dew points are more like july and august around here as opposed to the beginning of october with the wind coming in out of the southeast and dew points in the 70s and oppressive and also very warm, temperatures today were 12 degrees above normal, sitting at 85, it's that humidity and the dew points coming in off the ocean feeding the low pressure over the tennessee valley and a cold front that is draped just to the north and west, you see the amounts to the northern and west and that pivots here overnight into early tomorrow morning, the center stays to the north and west as it stays north of state college, that is where the heaviest rain will be but we get much needed rain first thing tomorrow morning at 7:30 about lingering showers and downpours and leaves in the afternoon and a northerly win stays cloudy and we'll talk about the next round

cincinnati along the boundary and that low rides to the west and keeps us warm and muggy overnight and the rain coming in generally after the midnight hour, at 8:00 heavy rain near the poconos and most of us dry and the radar fills in at 2:00 in the morning, especially north and west where are you closer to the low. you get the rainfall intensi intensifying and by 8:00 tomorrow morning it's heaviest lifts to the north and still lingering pockets of moderate rainfall, by the afternoon the low is way over new england so we have spotty showers to deal with for the rest of your wednesday afternoon. through the day tomorrow, including tonight, a half inch to inch and a halfer all points south and east of philadelphia, as you lift north and east of pennsylvania, especially lehigh valley, poconoss that is where you can see the higher end of the rainfall totals, 2 to 3
