no major flooding today, but moderate, you have to be careful. notice how the advisory goes until midnight up around the tidal areas of the delaware bay because the high tides around the river occur later. 56 degrees in philadelphia. 51 in allentown. 50 in reading. 52 in trenton. a little better, 58 in sea isle. breezes out of the northeast today. right now we have gusts in the 30s along the shore, but not so bad in philadelphia. we're down to 25-mile an hour gusts there and in the teens in allentown, breezy and cool nonetheless. we roll through the day, better than yesterday, in the 60s, but a day for coats. 59 degrees by noon. we spend the majority of the afternoon in the low 60s with a high of 63 around 3:00 p.m. better temperatures in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. nydia and alicia i'll check that coming up. >> thank you. the action cam was roaming

the jersey shore look he the latest round of flooding. this was the scene at harvard and ventnor -- edge wood avenue in ventnor. >> new video came in from west atlantic city. flooding forced police to close the black horse there and pleasantville at franklin boulevard. the. >> the wind and rain left it's mark on the jersey shore. it was bad in spots, but it could be worse if hurricane joaquin made a run at the beaches. annie mccormick continues our coverage from ocean city. >> reporter: for the most part people in ocean city say that this storm has not been that bad. however, right now the concern is not the rain, it's actually the wind. we're between two buildings right now, you step out here on the boardwalk, you can see a major difference in the gust. take a look at the lamp post. it is shaking in the winds. the dunes look like they are

swaying. out on the boardwalk, it literally takes your breath away. winds battered the ocean city boardwalk forcing people to bundle up and at times walk back wards. and in the ocean, wind whipped sands hit the signs. after several days of storm the sand has formed a shelf. on west avenue no wake zone warnings apply. >> it's crazy. >> reporter: wallace's hard way saw a frenzy of people. >> we pulled out sandbags three days ago, they were spannicking a little bit. they are tieing up docks, bay side got hit pretty bad. >> reporter: ocean city firefighters were prepared with jet skis and water rescue equipment. the deputy chief feels they got a break with the storm. >> weed high tide come in and

we were luck lucky it didn't go into the housing that we have. >> reporter: roads became impassable from absecon to atlantic city to the wildwoods. in wildwood, the winds caused bricks and concrete to fall from this senior home. back in ocean city, winds and sand caused people 30 huddle together. >> we have one more high tide. we have our storm trucks, business for usual for us, we'll be prepared. hopefully it will lessen up as other storms have and we'll come through without any major issues. >> reporter: you can feel the seaspray overhear. over here, the concern is whether the high tide will add

closed. >> and you can see why the carolinas took the most severe hit from the storm. it linked up with tropical moisture from hurricane joaquin creating a very tremendous situation there. the search resuming this morning, as well for the huge ship that vanished in the furry of hurricane joaquin. 33 people, 28 american are missing. so far the only sign of the ship is a life ring that was found the u.s. coast guard and navy. the ship lost communication and began taking on water just off the southeastern bahamas. the life ring was spotted 70 miles from the the ship's last known position traveling from florida to puerto rico. bermuda is bracing for hurricane joaquin packing category four storm winds. this is the storm barreling through the bahamas. people there are cleaning up. hurricane joaquin may strike

bermuda this morning. we stopped at 57 for the high. up to 63 for the high around 3:00 p.m. maybe sunny breaks later in the day especially up north. if you're heading to dover, maybe you're already there, breezy and cloudy today for the final day of race weekend. cool, 66 degrees by 1:00. 65 by 4:00. in between we'll hit 67 at some point. hopefully dry, looks like there's a good chance of that. 63 is the high in philadelphia. 62 in allentown. 61 in reading. we'll get into the 60s in trenton and wilmington, as well. 65 in millville. down the shore, mid 60s and a spotty shower possible especially in the southern half of the region. down the shore we have blustery winds gusting between 25 and 35 miles per hour maybe up to 40 in a couple of spots. today we're looking at moderate coastal flooding, high tide between 1 and 3:00 p.m. up and down the coast today. the major flooding we have been

seeing may not repeat, but moderate is still bad, so you have to use caution in the areas that tend to flood over the last couple of days. there could additional beach erosion, as well, but that probably will not be as pronounced as the last couple of days. most of the showers are off the coast, as we get up to 6:00 we'll see sunny breaks return to the picture tomorrow. hurricane joaquin away from the bahama also now affecting -- bahamas now affecting bermuda, bermuda will be on the east side of that track where the strongest winds are. bermuda getting battered today and tonight. 63 degrees, cloudy and breezy today. a little bit better than yesterday. phillies final game of the year,

speaking up north. we'll be cooler an cloudy. we're looking at moderate flooding today. the last major flooding we saw the last four or five high tides. high tides are generally around 1 to 3:00 p.m. the advisory goes until midnight in tidal portions of the delaware river and the upper bays. temperatures are chilly. 51 in allentown. 58 in sea isle city. a few degrees warmer than yesterday, but still jacket weather. we have windy gusts well over 30 miles per hour. not as bad inland in philadelphia and allentown. it won't be as breezy as yesterday. 54 degrees by 9:00 a.m. 59 degrees by noon. we'll inch the number up a bit.

29th street. two men burst into a room with guns drawn. a shootout ensued. one man was shot several times and is in critical condition. at this point there is no word on a motive. >> police in norristown, montgomery county are investigating a shooting. this one happened at 8:30 at the intersection of oak and green streets. police say a 17-year-old boy was shot in the stomach. he was rushed to penn presbyterian medical center for treement. there is no word -- for treatment. there is no word on his condition. police are looking for two men seen running away. gathering of bishops gets underway at the vatican. 279 bishops from 120 nations are on hand to discuss family issue. debate is expected to be fierce between hard liners who refused changes to church outreach toward gays and divorcees and

the fact that my temple owls are 4-0 and get ranked in the top 25 this weekend we'll see what happens. between now and noon we have cloud cover. as we go through the day there's a chance of sunny breaks the farther north you go through the region. in general we'll it will be a cloudy day. best chance of showers is south of philadelphia. frankly i think most of you will enjoy a dry day, although it will be breezy and chilly. 62 degrees in allentown. a little better than yesterday, but breezy and cool. down the shore, a cool day high of 65. that's better than yesterday. it will be breezy along the coast again. coastal flooding is a possibility. as we take a look at the issues at the shore, winds not gusting as strong, 25 to 35 miles per hour, maybe up to 40. we're looking at moderate

coastal flooding versus major flooding, moderate coastal flooding is nothing to sneeze at, take all the precautions, move your cars and don't walk or drive through any flooded areas. high tide this afternoon and there could additional beach erosion because of the onshore flow. 63 degrees, that's 6 degrees better than yesterday. cloudy for the most part, breezy and while we have to allow for a spotty shower, i do thing we're basically looking dry. winds out of the northeast at 15 to 25 miles per hour. as we look at where numbers are going today we'll get into the 60s, it will be the low 60s with the high of 63 at 3:00 p.m. still windy, too. if you're heading to the final phillies game of the season, fan appreciation day this afternoon at 3:05. a different start time than what we usually have on sunday. cloudy and breezy, 63 degrees in the first pitch.
