>> a pedestrian is hospitalized and is in critical condition after being struck by a car. now the search is on for the driver. >> the eagles are gearing up for a big game in the nation's capitol. they face the redskins this afternoon. the big story on "action news" this sunday morning is flooding concerns across south jersey. the action cam was on edgewater avenue in ventnor, you can see the water covering the roadway there. take a look at the boat rocking back and forth as the winds blow in pleasantville. we'll go to david murphy with details and while the rain is tapering down we have worries at the shore. >> reporter: things are getting better wind wise and flooding wise, we'll get to that in a moment. we have clouds around and temperatures in the 50s. the flood warning in effect in the coastal counties and up the delaware bay for one more high

tide sickle him we're expecting an onshore flow to produce flooding, this time looks like moderate flooding versus the major flooding we had during the last four tide cycles. it could cause you problems. the advisory in the upper portion of the delaware bay and delaware river doesn't expire until midnight because high tide is later in the evening up in those areas. 55 in philadelphia. 51 in allentown. 56 in millville. 55 in wilmington. 60 in sea isle city. we have blustery winds, 40 miles per hour in beach haven and 31 at the airport in atlantic city, strong enough winds to force some of the water inland. 24-mile an hour gusts currently if philadelphia. overall the winds less than yesterday. as we roll into the afternoon we are expecting to be in the 50s for the next several hours and the low 60s later on. the high of 63 about #--

3:00 p.m., under mostly cloudy skies and breezy conditions, small chance of rain, shower here or there. you guys will be all right for the two parades we have in center city. >> we have flooding video to show you from all across the jersey shore this weekend. streets were impassable from atlantic city to wildwood. ocean city firefighters say they were prepared for what the storm may bring, but dispite the problem feel we did get a break. >> we had high tides come in and what we expected and we got lucky it didn't go into the housing authorities that we have. >> the winds were so strong people had a hard time walking on the boardwalk and beach erosion a major concern. you can see where the sand form a shelf in ocean city. >> the owner of a cape may county house is vowing to rebuild after it was swept into

the bay. the vacant home started to fail friday, but yesterday morning it was completely swept into turtle creek. the owner believe the storm-fueled tides and winds overwhelmed the home. there's concern the wreckage could break apart during high tide and become a hazard. the coast guard deciding whether to have it removed. of course well continue to -- we'll continue to update you on the flooding at the jersey shore, send us photos from the jersey shore to 6abc.com, we'll post them on our website. >> from our delaware newsroom, police are searching for a driver who struck a pedestrian and kept going, it happened at jackson and maryland avenue in wilmington. police say the victim was rushed to christiana hospital in extremely critical condition. so far police do not have a description of the vehicle that struck the man. a 14-year-old has been arrested for at least 15 armed robberies around drexel university. police say all the robberies

happened just over the past few months. "action news" reporter, vernon odem has the story. >> reporter: we are no longer showing the face of the serial robbery suspect because police discovered he is only 14 years old on a big boy crime spree. 15 armed robberies in the drexel university area within 30 days, many violent. september 30th, he pistol whipped a student who resisted. >> 6:00 a.m. she is walking from home. a male pulls up on the bike, give me your purse. she resists. he punches her in the face. she chases her and pushes him off the bike, he beats her with the gun. >> reporter: police released the surveillance video of the suspect using a credit card he strong armed from a victim.

he is 14 and goes to overbrook high and at times has had two accomplices. >> i'm surprised so one so young could be -- someone so young could be using something like that so often with short timing in between. >> reporter: the through the social network, the university alerted the student body about the crime spree. >> i am from hong kong this is the first time in america, i'm kind of scared, actually. i will not go on the street alone at night. >> you're okay, now, because he's been arrested, yeah, it's safer than before. >> reporter: the district attorney may seek to prosecute the 14-year-old as an adult. no decision has been made yet. in the meantime, police try to track down his two alleged

erosion. -- looking at pretty extensive beach erosion. looking down the beach to the cliff we're looking at 6 feet of erosion on the beach. low tide past, another high tide is expected at 2:30. very windy and gusty, winds at 30 to 40 miles per hour expected today. if you look down here we're standing at the edge of the beach ramp that drops off. let's take a look at some flooding that we saw in other shore towns overnight. a number of roads were closed during high tide in pleasantville including black horse. we found police blocking traffic there at franklin boulevard. officials are warning do not drive through standing water, it cannot only damage your vehicle, but it's extremely dangerous. roads were flooded in west atlantic city and ventnor overnight. the back bay areas are prone to

flooding because the water has not had a chance to drain from previous high tides. coastal communities should be prepared for another round of flooding that's in in effect until 6:00 p.m. the beaches were replenished in 2013 after super-storm sandy. no word on how much damage was caused or what it will take to fix the beaches. i talked to the volunteer fire department in stone harbor they will have extra firefighters on hand in case anyone needs help. trish hartman channel 6 "action news." >> there's more to come on sunday morning edition of "action news." trying to conceive how exercise may help women suffering from the leading cause of infertility. church is damaged by storms that sweeps through the carolinas. now a live look sky6 live hd at philadelphia international. the winds is whipping there. it's going to be warmer than yesterday.

hall later this morning. the coral lines that got socked. >> we kind of dodged a bullet around here. >> reporter: the wind were bad, but not as batted along the shore. we look live cape may, new jersey, live on sky 6. looks like it's trying to get bright out there. although we have cloud cover around and a little bit of light reflecting off the water. not a whole lot of that in store today. as we look at storm tracker 6 live double scan we're looking at a lack of precipitation and staying fairly dry. 55 degrees, dewpoint, 46 winds out of the northeast at 14 miles per hour. 51 in allentown. 53 in trenton. 55 in wilmington, 60 in cape may. everybody needs jackets and layers as you head out. future tracker 6 shows we'll stay cloudy through the day. the farther north you go the better chance you have of seeing sunny breaks, all the way up to

6:00, not a lot of shower activity, the best chance in south jersey and the counties that salads up to the ocean. can't rule out a shower in the i-95 corridor, but most of you will be dry today. up in the lehigh valley, sun returning, breezy, 62 degrees, you may get socked in by the clouds, as well. down the shore, main line cloudy skies and breezy conditions. we have an issue with coastal flooding. may not be at bad as the last couple of days but there's a concern. winds 25 to 35 miles per hour. gusting up to 40. moderate flooding at the times of high tide in the afternoon today. there could additional beach erosion, but generally speaking it's the coastal flooding that's giving us the biggest concern. cloudy and breezy conditions, again we're allowing for spotty showers, but most of you stay dry. 63 is the high, the winds will be breezy, 12 to 25 miles per

caroline -- carolina also. philadelphia police look for a robber who used a philadelphia hotel to hide. >> what sparked a shootout in philadelphia that left a man dead and another hospitalized. >> there's concerns after a storm brought flooding along roads. sky6 live hd looking live at cape may. the waves still kicking up down the shore and coastal flooding is a concern this morning and throughout the afternoon. >> it's been a tough weekend. meteorologist david murphy is outside with what to expect today. >> reporter: cloudy cool and breezy, as you step outside. down the shore bracing for more flooding during the early afternoon tidal flood period or high tide period. there you see clouds spilling in off the ocean again today. we can't rule out sunny breaks north of philadelphia. generally speaking we'll have to start tout with clouds and hold on to them across a good portion

of the region. coastal flood warning is in effect until 6:00 p.m. it's the afternoon high tides that are centered around 1 to 3:00 p.m. the flooding will be moderate today versus major flooding we saw over the last four or five high tide cycles. it is an advisory until midnight in the lighter green counties up along the tidal portion of the delaware river because the high tide occurs later along the delaware than down the shore. 51 in allentown. 60 in sea isle city. the current wind gusts are significant up above 30 miles per hour in atlantic city. 28 in millville and 24 in philadelphia. overnight the winds not as strong as yesterday, but a partly of the weather package. the temperatures is going up to 63. better than yesterday, but cool and gray well below the average high of 71. we have better numbers coming up

in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, though, and nydia, i'll have more on that coming up. >> all right, david, thank you. as we brace for the possibility of more flooding this afternoon we want to show you what happened overnight in parts of south jersey, flulgd -- flooding ascertain beach erosion. trish hartman is reporting live from cape may county with more. some dramatic pictures trish. >> reporter: the ramp at the 111th street beach. the ramp drops off with the beach is eaten away from the waves. parts of the ramp is jught out on the -- jutting out on the beach. i'm 5'4" it drops off here, we're looking at 6 feet. low tide happened at 8:15. another high tide is expected around 2:30. winds at 30 to 40 miles per hour

expected. the mayor said the beach likely eroded down to the point, but they are still assessing the damage. let's look at the flooding from the other shore towns from the overnight. a number of roads were closed in pleasantville including the black horse and franklin boulevard. officials warning like all weekend do not drive through standing water or any flooding areas, it can damage the car. it's very dangerous. roads were flooded in west atlantic and haven't in other. forecasters say the back bay areas are prone to flupgd because the water has -- flooding because the water has not had a chance to drain. the mayor of stone harbor said some homes and businesses did have water, but many people were protected by the beach which is eroded. >> it's bad and good at the same time. it's good in the fact it protected our property and all the homes and infrastructure and the streets. it's bad for tourism. we'll need to replenish

streets. >> reporter: a massive storm trapped over the east coast. from near wilmington, north carolina to myrtle beach south carolina. millions of americans along the eastern seaboard affected by the wind and record breaking rain. this is not just any rain this is going to be the heaviest rainfall we have ever seen. in charleston, south carolina a deluge of water. roads customed to traffic jams inundated by several feet of water. these two strangers teamed up to help stranded people in their cars. >> you don't know etch a other -- each other, just hepg hands. >> we have the same motive as far as we're stuck here, anyway, we might as well help somebody out. >> reporter: often where there's crisis there are those willing to lend a hand. this stranded wedding party nearly missed the big day.

if not for the minute aid of the national guard. since thursday at least four people were killed in storm-related incidents in north an south carolina. downed trees and power outages posing problems for the first responders. >> i am a good citizen i'm going to obey and hole up in my apartment and clean out my dresser. >> reporter: in brunswick, north carolina, the impact substantial. up to 500 residents were evacuated in the coastal county. flood and flood watches expect to last through the weekend. >> the issue for north carolina and south carolina are the continued rains. the severe weather will continue through sunday and perhaps beyond with heavy rain anticipated to cause more disaster and emergency. >> >> coast guard officials have

resumed their search, as well for a cargo ship that went missing after it ran into hurricane joaquin. there was hopeful news yesterday when a life ring believe toed te from the ship was found, it was carrying 33 crew members, 28 american. there has been no communication with the ship in about 48 hours. >> the family of one of the survivors of thursday's mass shooting at the oregon community college is speaking out. the gunman asked a girl about her religion. when she didn't answer he shot her in the back. she is just 16 years old and in her fourth day of college. >> when the incident occurred she laid on the ground and played dead and that saved her life. >> she remains hospitalized in critical condition. a go fund me account set up for

another survivor raised 7 $110,000. a robe suspect used a hotel -- robbery suspect made use of a hotel while running from a park ranger from overnight the suspect ran into the society hill sheraton on the 200 block of dock street. an off duty camden county metro police officer found a clip from the suspect's gun at the scene. the suspect managed to allude authorities and he is still on the loose. philadelphia police are investigating a deadly shootingout overnight. police say two men armed with guns stormed into a home on the 2400 block of 29th street.

rains are wreaking havoc on the french rivera. fierce thunderstorms dropped nearly 7 inches of rain on the region in two hours, that's the equivalent of the two months of rainfall for that region. >> and they got more rain than that down south and we had rain here and some flooding. >> reporter: seven inches in two

hours, we had 8 or 9 inches from hurricane floyd over 8 hours and created massive historic flooding. that's something in the french rivera. no rain around here now. sky 6 looking outside the camera is bouncing as we look at the platt bridge in south philadelphia. still wind out there today. 55 degrees is the current temperature, dewpoint, 46. the winds are out of the northeast at 14 miles per hour gusting higher than that. the winds overall not as strong as yesterday, but strong enough to require a jacket, and two good hands gripping the windshield that's not what you grip when you drive, it's actually the steering wheel. winds blow in the bay in pleasantville. david murphy has the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast and trish hartman is at the shore with the flooding damage. let's start with david. >> reporter: storm tracker 6 live double scan, nydia, we have no rain in sight. there's fair amount of cloud cover and decent breezes blowing out of the northeast. we have cloudy conditions and sun breaking through later on. small chance of sprinkles or showers. having said that a coastal flood warning is in effect for all the counties highlighted in dark green until 6:00 p.m. ocean high tides are running between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and we are expecting another round of flooding. although i will point out it is moderate flooding and not major flooding. still enough flooding to warrant caution, certainly, you ever to treat this smartly, but it looks like the high level of water might not be as high as the last

>> reporter: good morning, nydia, lots of erosion and damage at the beach at 111th street. this was the beach ramp that drops off eaten away by the waves. all down to the point this is likely eroded according to officials. now the waves are lapping up against it. low tide happened around #-- 8:00 a.m. high tide 2:00 p.m. in stone harbor. the good thing the beach protected the properties, the bad news there's millions in damage now. let's look at flooding happening overnight in other communities in the area. we have a number of roads closed in pleasantville including black horse pike police were blocking traffic at franklin boulevard. roads were flooded in west atlantic city and ventnor overnight. forecasters say the back bay area is prone to flooding

flooding versus major coastal flooding you saw over the last four tide cycles. the water could go relatively high. at the high tide is when it will be at its worse between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. the big issue is the coastal flooding that will come down a little bit. 63 degrees, cloudy, can't rule out sunny breaks, breezy, a spotty shower can't be ruled out. mainly dry, winds out of the northeast at 12 to 20 miles per hour. not as high as the 30-mile an hour winds yesterday. 52 degrees is the overnight low, mostly cloudy and breezy there with winds still noticeable but easing back a little bit. we have two big parades our friend alicia vitarelli will be hosting one of them. they start at noon and end at 3:00 p.m. 59 degrees by noon, if you're heading to the parade and 63 by 3:00 p.m. maybe sunny breaks maybe not. it will be windy and cool, so if
