happened just over the past few months. "action news" reporter, vernon odem has the story. >> reporter: we are no longer showing the face of the serial robbery suspect because police discovered he is only 14 years old on a big boy crime spree. 15 armed robberies in the drexel university area within 30 days, many violent. september 30th, he pistol whipped a student who resisted. >> 6:00 a.m. she is walking from home. a male pulls up on the bike, give me your purse. she resists. he punches her in the face. she chases her and pushes him off the bike, he beats her with the gun. >> reporter: police released the surveillance video of the suspect using a credit card he strong armed from a victim.

erosion. -- looking at pretty extensive beach erosion. looking down the beach to the cliff we're looking at 6 feet of erosion on the beach. low tide past, another high tide is expected at 2:30. very windy and gusty, winds at 30 to 40 miles per hour expected today. if you look down here we're standing at the edge of the beach ramp that drops off. let's take a look at some flooding that we saw in other shore towns overnight. a number of roads were closed during high tide in pleasantville including black horse. we found police blocking traffic there at franklin boulevard. officials are warning do not drive through standing water, it cannot only damage your vehicle, but it's extremely dangerous. roads were flooded in west atlantic city and ventnor overnight. the back bay areas are prone to

of the region. coastal flood warning is in effect until 6:00 p.m. it's the afternoon high tides that are centered around 1 to 3:00 p.m. the flooding will be moderate today versus major flooding we saw over the last four or five high tide cycles. it is an advisory until midnight in the lighter green counties up along the tidal portion of the delaware river because the high tide occurs later along the delaware than down the shore. 51 in allentown. 60 in sea isle city. the current wind gusts are significant up above 30 miles per hour in atlantic city. 28 in millville and 24 in philadelphia. overnight the winds not as strong as yesterday, but a partly of the weather package. the temperatures is going up to 63. better than yesterday, but cool and gray well below the average high of 71. we have better numbers coming up

in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, though, and nydia, i'll have more on that coming up. >> all right, david, thank you. as we brace for the possibility of more flooding this afternoon we want to show you what happened overnight in parts of south jersey, flulgd -- flooding ascertain beach erosion. trish hartman is reporting live from cape may county with more. some dramatic pictures trish. >> reporter: the ramp at the 111th street beach. the ramp drops off with the beach is eaten away from the waves. parts of the ramp is jught out on the -- jutting out on the beach. i'm 5'4" it drops off here, we're looking at 6 feet. low tide happened at 8:15. another high tide is expected around 2:30. winds at 30 to 40 miles per hour

expected. the mayor said the beach likely eroded down to the point, but they are still assessing the damage. let's look at the flooding from the other shore towns from the overnight. a number of roads were closed in pleasantville including the black horse and franklin boulevard. officials warning like all weekend do not drive through standing water or any flooding areas, it can damage the car. it's very dangerous. roads were flooded in west atlantic and haven't in other. forecasters say the back bay areas are prone to flupgd because the water has -- flooding because the water has not had a chance to drain. the mayor of stone harbor said some homes and businesses did have water, but many people were protected by the beach which is eroded. >> it's bad and good at the same time. it's good in the fact it protected our property and all the homes and infrastructure and the streets. it's bad for tourism. we'll need to replenish

streets. >> reporter: a massive storm trapped over the east coast. from near wilmington, north carolina to myrtle beach south carolina. millions of americans along the eastern seaboard affected by the wind and record breaking rain. this is not just any rain this is going to be the heaviest rainfall we have ever seen. in charleston, south carolina a deluge of water. roads customed to traffic jams inundated by several feet of water. these two strangers teamed up to help stranded people in their cars. >> you don't know etch a other -- each other, just hepg hands. >> we have the same motive as far as we're stuck here, anyway, we might as well help somebody out. >> reporter: often where there's crisis there are those willing to lend a hand. this stranded wedding party nearly missed the big day.

resumed their search, as well for a cargo ship that went missing after it ran into hurricane joaquin. there was hopeful news yesterday when a life ring believe toed te from the ship was found, it was carrying 33 crew members, 28 american. there has been no communication with the ship in about 48 hours. >> the family of one of the survivors of thursday's mass shooting at the oregon community college is speaking out. the gunman asked a girl about her religion. when she didn't answer he shot her in the back. she is just 16 years old and in her fourth day of college. >> when the incident occurred she laid on the ground and played dead and that saved her life. >> she remains hospitalized in critical condition. a go fund me account set up for

winds blow in the bay in pleasantville. david murphy has the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast and trish hartman is at the shore with the flooding damage. let's start with david. >> reporter: storm tracker 6 live double scan, nydia, we have no rain in sight. there's fair amount of cloud cover and decent breezes blowing out of the northeast. we have cloudy conditions and sun breaking through later on. small chance of sprinkles or showers. having said that a coastal flood warning is in effect for all the counties highlighted in dark green until 6:00 p.m. ocean high tides are running between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and we are expecting another round of flooding. although i will point out it is moderate flooding and not major flooding. still enough flooding to warrant caution, certainly, you ever to treat this smartly, but it looks like the high level of water might not be as high as the last

four tide psyche owe -- cycles. we have high tides up in the delaware river until this evening, because their tide is after the ocean high tide. 54 in allentown. 61 in sea isle city. we have decent wind gusts ranging from 30 to 35 miles per hour up and down the coast right now. 25 in philadelphia. as we go through the afternoon it will be clouds and sunny breaks and still on the chilly side with a high of 63 degrees and breezy conditions continuing. we're looking at improvement in terms of temperatures as we head through the seven-day forecast i'll have that coming up in the seven day from accuweather in just a few minutes. >> let's turn to "action news" reporter, trish hartman live in stone harbor, cape may county with more on beach erosion and flooding this morning, trish.

>> reporter: good morning, nydia, lots of erosion and damage at the beach at 111th street. this was the beach ramp that drops off eaten away by the waves. all down to the point this is likely eroded according to officials. now the waves are lapping up against it. low tide happened around #-- 8:00 a.m. high tide 2:00 p.m. in stone harbor. the good thing the beach protected the properties, the bad news there's millions in damage now. let's look at flooding happening overnight in other communities in the area. we have a number of roads closed in pleasantville including black horse pike police were blocking traffic at franklin boulevard. roads were flooded in west atlantic city and ventnor overnight. forecasters say the back bay area is prone to flooding

because the water hadn't had a chance to drain. a coastal flood warning in effect until 6:00 p.m. tonight so folks are bracing themselves for more flooding folks in stone harbor say it cover much worst. >> the winds has been furious and the gusts have been big. you can see on the front of the house it took the siding off it, it was coming from the northeast. we lost some there and some of the roofing. it wasn't as bad as it could have been. >> reporter: a number of people saying that this morning, lots of people coming down to the ramp and taking pictures. officials say there were homes and businesses that had water in them, those folks are bracing for another round of flooding at high tide this afternoon. trish hartman channel 6 "action news." >> quite the prospective you have there, thank you, trish. streets were impassible from absecon to the wildwoods.

even if the winds are lighter than yesterday. 54 degrees in allentown currently. 55 in trenton. 56 in wilmington. 61 degrees in cape may. future tracker 6 showing us the clouds will be with us most of the day. although the farther north you go the better chance you have of sunny breaks starting to break through. that might happen around philadelphia before we are done with the day. it does look like we're mainly dry, right down close to the coast and coastal counties, a spotty pop-up shower is possible. that could ham in and around philadelphia, but -- happen in and around philadelphia, but most of you stay dry. lehigh valley, 62 is the high. down the shore, cloudy and breezy, we have an issue with coastal flooding continuing as the high tide is expected to rise up to levels that could bring us flooding. wind gusts will be significant we're going for moderate coastal

flooding versus major coastal flooding you saw over the last four tide cycles. the water could go relatively high. at the high tide is when it will be at its worse between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. the big issue is the coastal flooding that will come down a little bit. 63 degrees, cloudy, can't rule out sunny breaks, breezy, a spotty shower can't be ruled out. mainly dry, winds out of the northeast at 12 to 20 miles per hour. not as high as the 30-mile an hour winds yesterday. 52 degrees is the overnight low, mostly cloudy and breezy there with winds still noticeable but easing back a little bit. we have two big parades our friend alicia vitarelli will be hosting one of them. they start at noon and end at 3:00 p.m. 59 degrees by noon, if you're heading to the parade and 63 by 3:00 p.m. maybe sunny breaks maybe not. it will be windy and cool, so if

pope francis visited philadelphia last weekend he kissed countless babies, special for any family no doubt, but it was special moving for one family from bucks county. there daughter was blessed thanks to a series of small meaner a daughter who was not supposed to live past her first birthday which she just celebrated. >> we made a decision to love our daughter for however long we had her. >> reporter: weeks after the baby was born, a medical team told the parents that may only be days. the baby girl had been diagnosed with what doctors believed was an inch operable brain tumor. later they found out she was suffering from a rare disease. >> we planned funerals. >> reporter: but that was not in god's plan.
