shore beginning to assess the damage from beach erosion this past weekend. >> but the big story on "action news" local college campuses on alert following an anonymous vote about a possible threat of violence on a university near philadelphia. the post was discovered online the day after the shooting in oregon. fbi ordered local campuses to tighten their security measures. erin o'hern joins us at temple university with the very latest. erin. >> reporter: and rick, the time and date of this online threat was specific, the location was not, but this erie post has created some tension and uncertainty on campuses both here and center city and the surrounding suburbs. school officials and law enforcement tell "action news" the move to tighten security was

go out of my way to avoid my regular activities because of it. >> reporter: e-mails distributed at st. joe's and villanova alerted students and staff of the threat and stated there would be increased visibility on campus and anything or anyone should be suspicious and reported to campus security immediately. >> police say this happens all the time. we get all the time. >> that's something that law enforcement reiterated to "action news," because this was close to the oregon massacre and apparently the same message board that was used, fbi and atf felt was important to communicate the threat to schools. i spoke to a temple university official today and he said that the university is not only communicating with law enforcement, but also with other

police arrested a firefighter for allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old girl. he was wearing a mask and attacked her, but fled after the victim recognized him. he is charged with false imprisonment and terrific threats and sexual assault. well, the woman who abducted the child from the philadelphia classroom learned her sentence, christina regusters will spend 40 years to life in prison. she was found guilty of kidnapping a girl who was sexually assaulted and abandoned at a playground. vernon odem is in court for the sentencing and gathering reaction right now and we'll

accuweather seven-day forecast. >> reporter: that's right, the national weather service extended the flood advisory until 7:00 p.m. because they are dealing with flooding along the shore. you can see the advisory along the atlantic coast and lower delaware bay where we expect flooding in the back bay once again today and the local roads in the area. 8 miles per hour in philadelphia. nothing like it was with the gusty winds over the weekend. down the shore sustained winds in atlantic city, 16 miles per hour. we clock a grus of 23 in -- a gust of 23 in atlantic city. earlier there was a 22-mile an hour gust in philadelphia. the winds are picking up at times, but nothing like earlier in the weekend. satellite and radar showing we started with the clouds and now we see a break in the clouds and that giant orb in the sky is coming back, remember what that was? , the sunshine. 63 degrees. 61 in allentown. 61 in millville.

passengers were taken to the hospital. the train was heading from northern vermont to washington, d.c. when it went off the tracks in northfield in central vermont. four people taken to the hospital, but no serious injuries. the coast guard said a body has been found in the search for a missing cargo ship. officials believe the ship which disappeared thursday off the bahamas during hurricane joaquin sank. 33 people were on board at the time. the one body found was in a survival suit. it is unidentifiable. they have recovered debris including a life ring and heavily damaged life boat. the cargo ship had a second life boat which could hold everyone on board. a u.s. military commander said afghanistan forces requested the airstrike that hit a medical facility over the

weekend. it hit a doctors without bolders hospital in kunduz. afghanistan forces advised the u.s. and said they needed air support. the oregon community college, umpqua opened its doors to faculty and staff. students will be allowed on campus this afternoon. they can resteve whatever they left behind last thursday when a gunman opened fire killing nine people. counselors will be on hand to help. classes and events will not resume until next monday. one of the students that survived the rampage is speaking exclusively to abc news, the 18-year-old was in class when the shooting started. he said he has been waiting a long time for the day, he

trading this morning. the cruise of out of networks atm reached a record high. customers pay 4.52 per transaction to use an atm other than their own bank. that's up 20%. fees for bouncing a check have gone up 9%. turning to "healthcheck" this noon, a new study suggests late bedtimes can lead to weight gain in teenagers and young adults. for every hour they stay up at night their bmi went up by 2% over a five year period. the link between late bedtimes and weight gain was not affected by total sleep time. reachers say dlercht bedtimes are not about total sleep time, but a target for weight management, as well. >> the "action news" team is out working on stories for

60 in atlantic city. feels cool out there, we started this morning in the 40s in a lot of suburbs, but we're recovering from that. temperatures below the average high of 70. satellite and radar showing we have lots of morning clouds and is how they broke apart. we're getting a good amount of sunshine for a change. we saw that late yesterday and more so today. things will warm up a little bit and more and more sunshine, looking good and looking dry out there. along the east coast we can see the area of low pressure sitting and spinning to the south. look at the rain hitting south carolina. we talked about that earlier in the broadcast the tremendous flooding that he would. while we stay dry the area of low pressure is down to the south. we have consistent northeasterly flow. coastal flood advisory continues until 7:00 p.m. tonight. sunshine and clouds at the shore, 635 degrees.

in the lehigh valley, partly sunny skies, temperatures in the mid to upper 60s in spots. 67 degrees in philadelphia. sunshine and clouds, it's breezy, we saw gusty winds along the coastline. that continues today. for the rest of the the winds died down a little bit. 68 is the high in millville. the area of low pressure staying to the south. 67 is the high. pockets of sunshine breezy. high pressure settles in come tomorrow. the low stays to the south. it's a milder afternoon we make it up to 73 degrees feeling good. we're continuing to follow hurricane joaquin. 85-mile an hour stainld winds still a hurricane at this point. watch how the moldses take it out to sea. not impacting our weather. we have coastal flood advisories that has nothing to do with the hurricane. that's a persistent northeasterly flow. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast it's a cool breeze, but feeling good, we're seeing the sunshine back in the area. 67 degrees for the high.

this woman who posed as a home care nurse and stole from an elderly woman's house. a deadly airstrike that has hit a medical clinic as afghanistan forces try to keep the taliban at bay. officials say an anonymous threat surfaced online against a university near philadelphia. it was posted after the deadly shooting in oregon, david murphy is live in villanova now with more on the story. david. >> reporter: yeah, rick, whether it's a hoax or not, colleges and universities in the delaware valley are all taking this very seriously. so far this threat has had a huge impact on law enforcement and school communities like villanova university here. >> it's a scary environment. you can never prepare for that. >> reporter: the threat is nonspecific mentioning only a university near philadelphia.
