road -- said she believed the road opened under her. >> the back of the car was up in the air, if someone hit me i could have flipped over. >> reporter: the hole opened up in a patch drive that she learned that city workers left earlier in the day after repairing a water main break. her father wonders how this could happen. >> i don't know how someone can fill a hole and leave an open cavity. >> reporter: the car was towed away and this young woman grateful that she survived. >> i can't believe it happened. >> reporter: a water department spokesman said the water department was putting final repairs on the water main break out there earlier. he couldn't tell me what went wrong, but said the department will look into it. jeff chirico. channel 6 "action news." >> 5th street is blocked off after a water main break sent

flooding is hitting water logged south carolina. what a difference a week makes, the shore has dried out from the soaking last week. let's go outside to meteorologist chris sowers with the accuweather forecast. >> reporter: you said it earlier, it is chilly out here right now, especially when you compare it to yesterday high temperatures topped out to 80 degrees. we added humidity to the mix, as well. we were talking about south carolina and how bad the flooding has been in the last week to ten days, we have another storm system rumbling through the palmetto state. very heavy downpours in columbia and other locations across the carolinas. this will aggravate the situation. look at these numbers, we've seen anywhere from 20 to 26 inches of rain in south

carolina. today's rain we'll add another inch to two inches. kingstree, 24.7 and calabash21 inches of rain. this storm will not roar up the east coast, it's heading out to sea. millville, 53. cape may, 55 with a northerly breeze at 15 miles per hour sustained gusting to 22. millville is seeing gusts as high as 20 to 25 miles per hour. it's a little windy down the shore right now. look at the numbers north and west, they are starting to calm down. that will be the trend that calming effect will push into south jersey and delaware over the next few hours, your mighty temple owls taking on the green lane of tulane. if you're going to do tailgating over the next few hours, you'll need something with sleeves.

thunderstorms yesterday evening. now, we're down to 53. the numbers will not skyrocket like yesterday. we're seeing a breeze out of the north. look at the dewpoint. 39 very dry air. 58 in coatsville, 50 in kennett scare. 45 in tanersville. you got down to 40 degrees in the poconos. satellite and radar, you'll be in the 30s at the same time tomorrow. you can see we have clouds to the south and clearing to the north. an area of high pressure sitting right there in between pittsburgh and buffalo. as that dives south and east it will push cloud cover to the south with the cold front. we'll see clearing conditions, more heavy rains for south carolina. hopefullly that system -- hopefully that system behaves itself and doesn't cause too much flooding down there.
