later, a man called police to say he was responsible for the death and he was arrested. wednesday night, the big story on "action news" is the investigation into the suspicious death in hockessin, the victim is a psychiatrist that worked in a mental health facility in newark. sara bloomquist is live now tonight with the full story. >> reporter: rick and monica, to be honest, we don't know much, police here are very tight-lipped as detectives do their work and they will only say they are not looking for an additional suspect. the crime scene detectives spent the day in the sand ridge development. >> we are on the scene and our technicians are coming out and surveying the scene. >> police responded to a 911 call, after a report from a

woman that she discovered her mother insood of her home. her body was inside of the home where she lived for years, she is identified at a 56-year-old psychiatrist and mother of two. >> extremely friendly, we discussed our children and all of that, like a neighbor type of relationship. >> about a half hour later, police got a 911 call, from a man claiming to be responsible for the woman's death. >> at 4:27 a.m., received a call from the subject giving us information that he was responsible for the incident. >> patrol unit s came to the hoe in the autumn wood development. >> we are not looking other suspects at this time. >> the victim worked at this menal health facility in newark a statement they sent was that the rock wood center is cooperating with authorities and will continue to do so. on behalf of all the staff i

a developing story right now out of our delaware bureau, where the police are on the scene of several shootings in wilmington. shots rang out at 4:00 on north monroe street in wilmington, police found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds and they found dozens of gunshot casing on the 400 block of monroe at west 3rd avenue. no word if the shootings are connected . meanwhile police commissioner, charles ramsey, says he will refire next year, he will leave ben mayor nutter leaves office in january, he calls it a professional not a personal decision. and he weighed in on his possible replacement. >> i know that one individual in particular has been mentioned time and time again that, is first deputy rich ross, i couldn't agree more, that he is

compare this to yesterday, 8 degrees cooler in philadelphia and wildwood and dover, and a bit of a shock to the system but temperatures continue to step down through the week, satellite 6 along with action radar shows we did start the day with blue skies and sunshine and the clouds are rolling in and we see enough breaks in the clouds especially over philadelphia the i-95 corridor, we see peeks of blue skies, the cloud cover associated with the second dairy cold front, and we see them moving through through the week, you see the cold air over canada with temperatures in the teens and 20s and the cold front on friday will open the door for that air to stream down to the south and that means i am tracking not only the coldest air mass of the season but also the possibility of a frost and freeze and i'll talk more about that coming up in the full accuweather forecast. >> cecily thank you, time for a check of the "action news" traffic report wednesday night.
