the rental hall area stay with "action news" and 6abc.com for the latest on the story. new this morning, authorities in delaware are investigating a suspicious fire that burned three mobile homes. the blaze broke out at 23:00 at the park place trailer park indiana avenue in stanton. nobody was hurt, but nine people including four children have to find somewhere else to stay. the fire is suspicious. a man who was almost killed in a shooting over the summer has been gunned down in philadelphia's logan section. the 30-year-old victim was shot multiple times getting out of a car on the 5100 block of north camack street. he died at the hospital. he was shot back in august one block away, no arrests have been made in either shooting. nearly two dozen people were forced from their homes by an apartment fire in camden

county. the action cam was on the scene in west brandt avenue in pine hill. the blaze broke out at the mansion apartments. you can see damage to the roof there. fortunately everybody made it out safely. three units were damaged or destroyed. 25 people have been displaced. no word on what sparked the fire. >> investigators are looking for the cause of a deadly fire in pleasantville, new jersey. the blaze killed two women. richard dorsey said the smell of smoke was so strong he could smell it inside his house. >> i checked my house first, i come outside it was coming from somewhere. i didn't notice the fire, i seen the brightness and smoke was pouring out of the windows. >> neighbors say a husband and wife lived there along with an orderly woman. family members say the victims were living there for a few years without electricity and using candles at night. >> now to the massive mudslide

in california crews are working around the clock to remove mud arena debris. >> hundreds of cars remain encased in the mud. addi roy has more. >> reporter: crews clearing the mud from mudslides in southern california are racing against the clock and mother nature. saturday morning construction equipment arriving to aid in the digout before another round of weather hits. >> they are expecting more rain, if that happens we'll clear all the personnel working in the area just in case there's more mudslides. >> it's scary to see the water on both sides is moving quickly and rising quickly. i was thinking about how i was going to go out the sunroof to get on top of the vehicle. >> reporter: thousands of cars and trucks remain strand after thursday's -- stranded after thursday's massive mudslide.

vehicles. >> next thing i heard gunfire and i came down and people were hiding behind their vehicles. >> now, police say when the officers arrived the man starting pointed shooting at them. police returned fire hitting him. when he is released from the hospital he will be charged with attempted homicide of a police officer. it sounds like something out of a horror movie, one person is dead and four others hurt after a shooting at an annual zombie festival in florida. someone oapped fire at -- opened fire at zombicon. one person was killed and four others recovering from non-life threatening injuries. the annual events draws 20,000 fans dressed as zombies. organizers are saddened by the news and take the safety of patrons very seriously.

recently moved into a new home with her kids found out the hard way they were not living alone. she was about to do dishes when a 40-pound boa started slithering out from behind the water heater. she grabbed the kids and ran. >> i started shaking i was like what do i do, please god help me. >> the family had only been in the house for two weeks when the snake which was 80 feet long decided to pop out.

this chilly and you're not used to it. it makes it feel worse. 5 miles per hour in allentown. 10 in the poconos and 9 miles per hour in philadelphia. later this afternoon, the wind speeds will pick up again out of the northwest apt 10 to 20 miles per hour. satellite and radar showing just like yesterday at this time we're crystal clear up and down the entire eastern seaboard. all the cloud cover will roll in this afternoon. look at the snow flying across the great lakes. they have seen a slushy accumulation, very light just a coating. just to see it this early in the season coming off lakes erie and ontario is impressive. get a load of this shot. this is sugarloaf mountain look at the fall foliages, you have the sugar maples and you go a couple of thousand feet up you can see the snow laying on the ski slopes there. very unusual to see this snow

the victim was taken to presbyterian hospital where he was pronounced dead. his name has not been released. police did not find any weapons in the area and there are no arrests. two people escaped serious injury after a crash on i-95 in delaware. it happened at 3:30 in the southbound lanes of newark. police say the driver lost control and crashed into a guardrail. the driver and passenger were taken to chris i can't know in a hospital. -- christiana hospital they are expected to be okay. a homeless family is fighting to take their children back. the kids were taken into protective custody yesterday after the boy was found wandering in love park. jeff chirico has the story. >> reporter: you can see their makeshift home the pieces of cardboard to shield the family from the winds. the family had no idea the little boy wandered away until they woke up hours later. >> we didn't have nowhere to

go. if i had somewhere to go i would be there. i am not out here on the streets on purpose. >> reporter: fighting homelessness she is now fighting for her children. after her 2-year-old boy was found wandering alone in the park overnight. this photo was shared on social media as police tried to find out who he was. michael jones shows us where the family slept behind cardboard walls under the welcome center. >> he crawled over top us and walked out. he walked all the way to love park. i ran over to dhs. ilsd my son is missing. >> reporter: the couple ended up here after having trouble finding room at a shelter. now the 2-year-old and his 4-year-old sister are in protective custody. >> i can't come what kind of work i get. if anybody have work for me,

call me. >> anybody who knows me and my husband will vouch we are very good parents to our kids. >> reporter: the little boy was taken to children's hospital and doing just fine. police say no charges will be filed. jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." >> authorities in chester county are investigating a double homicide officials say two men were shot in an parent drive-by shooting before 7:00 p.m. it happened on nickels avenue in valley township. no arrests have been made and no word of a motive. >> a fire in pleasantville, atlantic county claimed the lives of women this weekend. the women had been living in the home without electricity for years. >> reporter: family presbyterian presbyterian -- family members and loved ones embraced outside the charred home. two lives were lost in the blaze that started at 11:00 p.m. friday.

melted. >> the two ladies always say hello to us on the porch. >> reporter: officials have not released the names of the victims. reporting in pleasantville, trish hartman channel 6 "action news." >> people in texas are allowed to return to their homes after wildfires burned through 4600 acres. the fires in the central texas area burned 50 homes and seven businesses. 50% of the fire is contained. residents who returned to the area are concerned about looters. there are signs in front of his house if he said if you loot we shoot. >> i pulled out my gun and dropped a shot 50 feet in front of him, and let him know i meant business he kept his hands up and started walking off to the side. >> neighbors say they are wary of strangers in the area because there was looting during other

wildfires. police are looking for people setting fires to five churches. this was set along the front door. the fires have caused minor damage to the buildings, nobody was injured. the churches are in about a three mile area. investigators are trying to determine if they are the work of the same person or group. >> mexican officials are saying that joaquin "el chapo" guzman the drunk kingpin was hurt while trying to run from authorities. officials say when he escaped he stained injuries to his face and one of his legs. he broke out of prison in early july and on the run ever since. u.s. is offering reward up to $5 million for information leading to his arrest. mexico is offering 3.$8 million. grateful dead phil

our big talkers, be what an amazing reunion, two sisters orphaned as children in south carolina found one another in florida. holy was 5 years old when she became an orphan. she and her younger sister were separated. always fate would have it they ended up working on the same floor at doctors hospital 40 years later. you can imagine emotions ran high when a dna test confirmed they were sisters. not only did they choose the same profession in healthcare, they are they have other things in common. >> it's it's a heartbreaking and beautiful wedding ceremony that has gone viral. heather got the surprise of her life when her father got out of the wheelchair so he could walk

her down the aisle. he has undergone intense chemo therapy and was in a wheelchair. she was afraid he wouldn't be able to walk down the aisle, but he had other plans, he worked with nurses and physical therapists to surprise his little girl. she said it was the biggest day of her life and her father gave her the biggest surprise of her life. it's a story of determination and love. we'll be right back.

stay. police are calling it suspicious and say it was started on the outside of the home. the man who almost died from a shooting this summer has been gunned down in philadelphia's logan section. the victim was shot multiple times getting out of the car on north camack street. police say the man was shot back in august just one block away. no arrests have been made in either shooting. >> more than two dozen people were forced from their homes by an apartment fire in camden county. the action cam was on the scene in pine hill. the blaze broke out at the max apartments. you can see damage to the roof. fortunately everybody inside made it out safely. but three units were damaged or destroyed. 25 people were displaced. there's no word on what sparked the fire. now the latest on the massive mudslide in california. crews are working to remove mud and debris. hundreds of cars and trucks
