information after a private jet crashes into an apartment building. but the big story on "action news" is still developing, philadelphia's next leader has chosen the city's next top cop. jim kenney will appoint richard ross as the next police commissioner to replace charles ramsey when he retires in january. he oversees operations for 600 members of the force and he will make the announcement this afternoon following a meeting of the police foundation and we'll continue to follow this story throughout the afternoon. and police have two men in custody after a carjacking in center city. investigators say that a female doctor was targeted in a parking garage near pennsylvania hospital. katherine scott is standing by live with details on how police were able to make the arrest. >> reporter: that is right rick, police now have two men in custody and we are told that one

of them is behind the carjack that took place here this morning at this parking garage behind pennsylvania hospital, located at 10th and dellancy, and it happened at 6:00 a.m., and the victim rode up the elevator with her, and they drove around making stops, police say he was trying to get cash at atm's and at one point her car was declined and they picked up the second man and drove her to the exxon at york and aramingo, and police say they were able to track her stolen cell phone and located the men and took them into custody but they believe the first man is the one responsible for the carjacking, they are not certain that the second man had anything to do with this, this remains under investigation, there are surveillance cameras inside and outside of the garage

tried to lure a child into a vehicle in berks county and the man was driving a volkswagon jeta and he asked a boy to get inside on minor street, it happened on friday but investigators releadsed the image of the suspect vehicle, he told residents he was collecting children's hair samples because of an amber alert. one person died following a crash in montgomery county, a tractor trailer and pickup truck collided at 6:00 this morning at south valley forge, two people were removed from the wreckage, the man driving the pickup truck did not survive and the other driver was hospitalized and no word on what led to the crash. americans today are pausing to thank and honor the veterans that bravely served our country, sky 6 hd shows us the korean war memorial at penn's landing.

block of mershonn street. a 26-year-old man suffer aid gunshot wound to the head and police believe the man shot the woman and turned the gun on himself. two weapons were found on the scene and police are trying to figure out what led up to the shooting, a suspect is now in custody accused of making online threats against black students and faculty at the university of missouri. university police are expected to release more details today and they say that the suspect was not on or near campus when these threats were made. the online posts threatened to shoot black people and followed the resignations of two top officials after complaints on the handling of racism. and associates were among those killed when a plane crashed in ohio. two executives and five employees were on board the

plane when it crashed and exploded in akron, two pilots were also on board and there was no reports of injuries on the grown and investigators arrived on the scene this morning to begin the recovery process. the cause of the crash is still unknown. the city of new york told popular betting websites no more bets in the state. eric snyderman says their contests are like a lottery, and a game of chance and not skill, the companies have been given cease and desist orderers in the state of new york and winners are based on skill and not luck. the city of new jersey are considering regulating sites as well. a woman is lucky after she accidentally flushed her engagement ring down the toilet.

we are news to report from the oxford section of the city, and a water main break in sections, the water main burst we are told just before noon time, here at the 10 hundred block of van kirk street, about 60 homes are impacted by the water main break and officials are on the scene and you can see a fire truck and money vehicles as well. the philadelphia water department is on the scene working to cap the leak and as you can tell, some muddy murky muddy water, a lot of m's. a scene on oxford circle, bringing you more information as it becomes available from the

oxford section of philadelphia, the two biggest beer makers finalized a merger deal, agreeing to by saab miller, telling they will make nearly a third of the world's beer, the combined company doesn't have a name yet and needs approval from regulators, they expect the deal to be completed sometime next year. about 1,000 airline passengers cannot travel today because of an on going strike with lufthansa air flight attendants, they have a list of demands including more retirement benefits and on the flip side lufthansa is trying to cut costs. they are seeking mediation to end it's on going dispute. losing a sense of humor may be a sign of alzheimer's disease
