"action news" reporter, sara bloomquist is live at the same gas station with the answer. >> >> reporter: this is where this ordeal came to an end for the pennsylvania hospital doctor, she is safe tonight thanks to an astute gas station employee who sensed something was very wrong and helped her. >> this is video of the suspect and the doctor he abducted trying to withdraw money from the atm. >> the clerk thought something was not right about the pair. >> i am looking and thinking no boyfriend. >> he was right to be suspicious, the man abducted the woman from this parking garage across from pennsylvania hospital and the woman was on her phone with the suspect when the suspect got on the elevator with her and flashed what appears to be a gun and he drove her around withdrawing funds

from atm's until the car was declined and along the way they picked up the suspect's friend and the woman's husband went to the hospital and alerted police, after trying the atm at the gas station, the suspect and doctor brought cigarettes with her considered and he was convinced he had to help her, he told her to stay inside i'll keep you safe. >> he yelled to the suspect to return the woman's keys and phone and the man acted as if he was armed and drove off in the honda, he gave the woman a water and his phone. >> meanwhile the suspect turned on the victim's phone allowing her husband to track it and the police caught up with the car and took he and his friend into custody. >> the man he picked up along the way is not likely to face charges, we are told that the

suspect is a drifter and was arrested a week ago for a theft inside of pennsylvania hospital. live in port richmond, sara bloomquist, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. philadelphia police are investigating what led up to a double shooting that left a couple critically wounded this morning, the incident happened ib side of a home at the 6200 block of hershonn street and investigators believe that the 26-year-old man shot the 28-year-old woman before turning the gun on himself. two guns were found at the scene and both people are in critical condition. the philadelphia water department hopes to have service restored to dozens of homes at oxford circle by 9:00. the water main break left 70 homes without water today and the eight inch main broke before noon flooding the street. again they hope to have service

restored by 9:00. on this veterans day a number of ceremonies across the tri-state area honored our nation's service men and women and perhaps the largest event was at the vietnam veterans memorial at penn's landing in philadelphia. people placed flowers and leaves to remember those that lost their lives in vietnam. all attendants were presented with a commemorative pin. engineer asked him to remove a passenger that was not wearing shoes. >> i asked him where are your shoes? and he hesitated and became embarrasses and in a low mumble stated he doesn't have any. instead of giving him a hard time, he gave him a hand, when across the street to the pay less shoe store and with his own money bought him a pair of size 12 pair the boots. >> he couldn't afford shoes to ride a bus, it just seemed like the right thing to do. it was captured on cell phone video that went viral, officer joiner's simple act of kindness strikes a nerve with people. >> that is him, he is a caring person, it doesn't surprise me. >> if you know the officer, he doesn't look for any
