>> we're following breaking news from bucks county this noon, a teen driver just learned his sentence for hitting and

killing a girl trying to board her school bus last year. the judge ordered michael shelly to spend 23 1/2 and 24 months in jail being convicted in the death of the high school student. he hit the high school student with his bronco when she tried to catch the school bus which had stoplights out and lights flashing at the time. annie mccormick was in court for the sentencing she'll have more details coming up in a live report at 12:30. >> police have just announced dui charges against a woman who drove the wrong way on a major highway. it happened on 295 exit 20. the head-on collision that resulted shut down that stretch of roadway for hours. katherine scott is live near the scene with the very latest.

katherine. >> reporter: sarah, that's right we now know the wrong-way driver was charged with driving while intoxicated and other related offenses. the other driver escaped with just an injury to his hand. when police arrived on the scene, they found the driver walking around, the other driver was trapped. you could see the mangled toyota prius the flat bed truck carried a ford pick up. a head-on collision in west deptford. the driver was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes around 4:30 when it struck the pick up truck. the southbound lanes were shut for hours with traffic diverted off the highway. >> she had to get on the exit wrong. i don't know what they will find when they get in the hospital. i can't imagine someone intentionally going the wrong

way on the exit. >> reporter: the driver was identified as mark rorback of new jersey. the other driver 26-year-old eileen dock -- dougherty. police continue to investigate. >> i work in delaware, i drive down there five days a week and at home. nothing surprises me on 295 any more. >> reporter: the roads were open back up at 7:15 as for the driver she remains in the hospital in stable condition. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> katherine, thank you. an suv slammed into a philadelphia police cruiser on i-95. the vehicle crashed into the patrol car in the frankford section after 2:00 a.m. the officer stopped to assist with an earlier accident in the southbound lane. fortunately the officer was not

sitting in his patrol car when i was hit. the cause is under investigation. turning to accuweather it is a shortened workweek for many of us, but it's getting off to a chilly start. sky6 live hd shows us a view of penns landing, below normal temperatures makes it feel colder, down right wintry. for the latest conditions let's go over to david murphy who is understandably inside. >> reporter: it does feel like a winter preview. i'll give you a couple of indications of the world air out there. this right here is lake-effect snow coming off the great lakes and in through northeastern pennsylvania and central new york. there's a frontal boundary out to the west that's active snow going into detroit and cleveland. the cold air is out there to the north and west. with the snowfall coming down in northeastern pennsylvania there's related clouds and accuweather says there's a

chance the cloud cover makes it into northern suburbs in the afternoon. most of the us will be bright with fair weather cumulus clouds. we're at 41 degrees in philadelphia. 30 in allentown, reading and lancaster. 39 in sea isle city. that doesn't seem too bad, but when you factor in we have winds in the teens 18 miles per hour in philadelphia for example, it feels worse than that. yes we are talking windchills on the noon broadcast. i think it's the first time this season. as you head outside you want the coats and the layers, because it feels like the freezing mark. we'll get windchills up in the middle 30s over the next few hours. high temperatures will be chilly. 46 degrees which is well below the average high of 53. is also tonight's low of 30. the winds will die down a little bit. we're looking at milder temperatures coming up in the seven day. looks like they will start to

back. a man was riding his bike when he was approached by four men in a car. one of the suspects pulled out a gun, robbed the victim and shot him in the back. the injured victim got back on his bike and was able to ride several blocks before he collapsed. he is in stable condition at temple hospital. mayor elect jim kenny discussed ways to improve education in philadelphia. he instruct importance of community feedback to voas in public schools. he recently returned from a trip to cincinnati. they said public school must be more than a place than education. they can focus organ the community and -- focus on the community and families as well. >> the birds defense could not stop tampa bay quarterback winston. he tied a rookie record with

with a closer look at a holiday week, a shortened week. >> reporter: it's going to feel more comfortable later in the week, but it feels like we're heading closer to christmas than thanksgiving today, anyway. looking at storm tracker 6 live double scan, no snow, or anything like that. but looking outside, we have

sunshine building across the region. there's chopper 6 from earlier, you can see the distant clouds off to the north, sunny and staying that way. it is cool, starting out in the low 30s and the suburbs in the 20s. 41 degrees which might not sound that bad, but here's the wind out of the north/northwest at 18 miles per hour. when you combine those they don't things you get a windchill around the freezing mark. bundle up, pretend it's another 3 or 4 weeks ahead. 36 degrees in allentown. 39 in reading. 37 in lancaster, even in the areas where we have the low 40s it's closer to the freezing mark because of wind. satellite shows you there's lake-effect snow that comes down off the great lakes. cloud cover is making a run at us, it might be again that you see some of the cloud cover come down from the north, occasionally this afternoon. generally speaking, though, i think we'll have lots of sun mixing with clouds. brisk and chilly in the lehigh

6:00 p.m. we're looking at windchills in the 20s or the 30s. this is something that will be with us for the rest of the day and this evening. we have a narrow trough in the jet stream bringing the chilly air in. the jet stream will push off to the north. by thanksgiving day and friday we'll experience much milder conditions. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, well, today a looking good, lots of sun, maybe a few clouds around, high of 46 and feeling chillier than that. tomorrow, less wind, sunny, getting up to 50. another colder start wednesday morning, but we get back up to 54. by the time we get to thursday, great day for the parade. looks like we'll be at dawn at 8:30. by the time we get to the balloons and the floats going by, high of 66. we could be at 60 by the end of the parade. friday, 68. the number might be high, but it will be somewhere in that
