where this event came to a fiery and violent conclusion. >> reporter: it sure did jim and traffic moving along again here on the vine street expressway from our vantage point up here we see the charred pave many where it came to an end, this was a kay ott ecscene right on the main artery of the vine street expressway, vehicles in flames and bullets and one bullet hitting a state trooper right in the shoulder. >> it was like a scene out of a movie, a school bus and car burning on 676 in center city right at the end of rush hour and rapid gun fire rang out on the roadway. >> sure enough there was state police with their guns drawn maybe a half dozen of them and pop pop pop. there was gun fire. >> state police trooper patrick casey was shot in the shoulder in the exchange of gun fire this began at 9:30 when trooper casey

went to back up two other troopers that pulled over the white sedan for an expired renlstration, they got all four occupants out of the car and handcuffed one, that is when we were told that the juvenile suspect jumped in the car and took off on to 676 east. >> trooper casey's car was rammed by the suspect vehicle and at some point the suspect car came alongside the trooper's car and the suspect began firing from his car at trooper casey. >> trooper casey was hit in the shoulder and the suspect lost control of the white sedan and slammed into the back of a school bus and both burst into flames, only the bus driver was on board and was not injured. you can see if video the troopers chasing after the suspect with guns drawn. >> police kept telling the guy to put the gun down, for two

minutes they must have said put the gun down, put the gun down, video shows state police with two in custody and we are told that one is the juvenile shootinger. >> nobody was the trooper was injured during all of this considering it happened at the end of morning rush, the handgun, weapon was recovered at the scene. >> sara thank you. we want to show you again the video taken by an "action news" viewer in the westbound lanes of the vine street expressway, he was able to see two troopers running after the suspect on the other side of the expressway way, this was after the gunman's car crashed into the bus setting them both ablaze. the suspect was apprehended and is custody. wendy the alleged gunman in custody and two others are still at large. >> reporter: that is right. two suspects are still on the loose, and police are telling us that they are identifying and trying to track down the third person. the fourth person is still a mystery, if that isn't disturbing enough they have been on the road since this morning and the drama doesn't end there, the father of the 17-year-old juvenile is here, he says his son say goodbye he just made a mistake. >> -- they -- he is a good kid. >> it was one day but you don't know where he got the gun?

>> no. >> do you think it belonged to him or someone else? >> this is my son, i love him with all my heart. no matter what happened i am there for my son. >> now, there was one individual who was handcuffed at the scene, police say while they were in pursuit of the 17-year-old shooter, they left three individuals behind stranded on the side of 676 near university. that was one of the handcuffed people that had at that point had been handcuffed on the side of 676, that is when the accomplice, the 17-year-old juvenile fled and now they believe they know who the third person is and they are asking your help for the fourth person, believed to be a hispanicmal with facial air on his chin and has a blue or black cast on his

arm and tattoo sleeve on his left and last seen with a black hat with a white star. police say they would not be able to tell us if any of these individuals had a criminal past. the father told us he had no idea where the gun came from and does not believe it belonged to his son. the 17-year-old was here at the barracks being interviewed and is taken to the hospital complaining of leg pain. i'm wendy saltzman channel 6 "action news." >> wendy, thank you lets switch live to vernon odom at hahnemann hospital where the state trooper is being treated. >> vernon what can you tell us from there? >> reporter: he is listed in stable condition and will remain in the hospital at least overnight for observation, and that bullet remains lodged in his left shoulder, doctors decided to leave it there for the time being.
