tonight and tomorrow. >> it's absolutely perfect around here and a cloudless sky, i am on the steps of the art museum and they are about to light the lights later on in the show, and this is the kickoff to a month of fest visits, and the weather will cooperate. in the mid-atlantic now no matter where you are we are basically in the 50s, mid-50s in philadelphia, 53 degrees, 55 down the pike in washington, and 46 cooler in new york city but charleston, west virginia, 63 and don't be jealous because the 60s will come here as well. as we look at the satellite and radar, and the ohio valley and the eerp half of the country, a large dome of high pressure over new england is protecting maine from atlanta, georgia and west of cincinnati, a little cloud cover develops but no big storms in sight at this particular time. travel delays as we look across the mid-atlantic and the northeast, no delays whatsoever,

>> we are on the roadways and train station and earlier this afternoon, it seemed like a normal travel day but as the workday comes to an end, the traffic and holiday travel are picking up. inside philadelphia international airport and 30th street station, an increase security presence. k-9 units patrol the grounds, and monday the state departmentish uped a travel alert. there are more cops walking around and definitely a police presence. traffic was on time and traffic on the roadways was moving this afternoon and aaa expects a busy holiday season. >> not too bad, i came from trenton and on my way back now. >> this thanksgiving we'll see the highest travel volume since 2007 indicative of the rebounding economy and lower gas prices. >> not all was smooth a freight train derailed from harrisburg.

big crash on the westbound lanes from spring garden to girard and it was blocking the two left lanes two minutes ago and they got the remnants pushed off but kind of sticking out into the right land, coming westbound jam solid past passyunk to girard avenue, the westbound travel time three times what it should be. that is how we start the afternoon. on the northeast extension if you are on your way to see grandma, a crash in franconia, harleysville pike, and south jersey where it's a mess on the southbound lanes of 295, jam solid from 38 on down to approaching the 42 freeway, that is where a vehicle flipped over and it's on the side and attracting a lots of attention. giving us unpleasant speeds of 10, 12, 13 miles per hour. and word of a crash on the new

philadelphia mayor elect jim kenney made key appointments to the city today. at the event at city hall he named commissioners for license and inspections and the streets department. david perry running streets will take the top spot at lni and his deputy john carlton gets the promotion and is the new commissioner. after a crash involving an accident in newport two people were hurt. the action cam was at box wood road and center view road where the accident happened at 7:00 this morning. the ambulance was responding to a call when it collided with an suv, both drivers are in the hospital and they are expected to be okay. >> from our new jersey newsroom,

close to removing kathleen kane from office as she fights criminal charges and as usual the district attorney is not backing down. >> kathleen kane's life is getting complicated because of pending charges she had her law license suspended and this judge found her inability to perform the law related functions of her office is having an adverse impact on the public, a vote of 5-2, is recommending the full pennsylvania senate hold a hearing to see if kane is to be removed from office. it's called direct removal. >> it has been invoked at least once and never been used. which adds to the controversy around this, if indeed the senate even has the authority to

all. one person is dead, two more are in the hospital today following a terrible car accident in montgomery county, chopper 6 hd over the scene near keller creamy road in harleysville pike where three cars collided just afternoon, one person was pronounced dead at the scene and one by helicopter due to the extent of the injuries, and the roads were closed at this hour, and the officials investigated the cause of the crash, police say that the murder of a new jersey woman in new england was a revenge killing. ashley grew up in paulsboro in gloucester county and was found dead in massachusetts, an arrest warrant was issued for 44-year-old fernando owens, he gagged and burned her because he believed she was involved in her son's shooting death the night

before. he should be considered armed and dangerous. investigators are investigating a possible abduction from a bank. police say the man on the right of the screen punched the man on the left and pushed him into a silver minivan, they heard the man saying i don't want to go with you. they are looking to identify both men in this video. a truck carrying tangerines flipped on a busy exit ramp in gloucester county this morning blocking traffic for more than two hours, it happened at 5:00 a.m. from a ramp from 255 to 322 in hairston township. the accident was not cleared until 7:00 because crews had to transfer all the fruit to a flat bed truck first. police say the driver was not hurt.

a philadelphia catholic school was paying it forward. in kensington the students come from low income families and benefit from the generosity of others each year, the students were asked to donate to charity and they contributed a total of $1,000. a local school district is using sports to help families out this season, these are the first annual turkey games, a series of flag football games will be played and everyone that plays has to donate $5 or five canned goods. the turkey gamed was the idea of a recent springfield high grad. a burlington county couple has a reason to be proud today

authorities in queens new york are searching for a mother who abandoned her newborn inside of the nativity scene. they believe the boy, nicknamed baby jesus was no more than 5 hours old, the mother was captured briefly on church surveillance cameras, meanwhile the church pastor says the baby's survival has reenforced his belief in miracles. an alabama man has a lot to be thankful for this income giving after surviving a near death experience that was caught on camera.

responsible for the child born from a surrogate that she and her husband hired before they got divorced the little boy that her ex is raising and she wants nothing to do with. according to a surrogate contract, she will have to be involved at least financially. the court ruling now that sherry had a change of heart in the second trimester and her marriage faltered and she tried to have it voided and her name removed from the child's birth certificate, the ruling means that shepherd must pay $4100 a month in child support. heart warming and completely in the spirit of giving thanks, this is 2.5-year-old dylan and his mom says he is beyond obsessed with garbage truck, he

tonight people are at the philadelphia museum of art. a lot going on and our own meteorologist, adam joseph, is there preparing for the tree lighting and that is something that has not been done in a while. >> it's a brand new thing to kick off the holiday season the day before the 6 abc dunkin' donuts thanksgiving day parade, this is 50 feet tall and 4,000 lights on this and has a massive light switch that we are lifting here in about an hour or so to kick off the holiday season and i hear you are one of the ones lifting the light switch. >> yes. >> you have enough muscles to lift that up? >> yes. >> it's really pleasant, a clear sky and temperatures are not that bad and basically 53 in
