reporter chad pradelli, who is on the holiday travel beat along the schuylkill expressway, good evening chad. >> we are on the roadways, at the airport and at the train station, for much of the day it seemed like a normal traffic day but right now traffic is running smoothly but transportation experts warn it's going to be a busy weekend. a travel alert had security tight at philadelphia international airport and at 30th street station, k-9 units patrolled the grounds and passengers noticed. >> it's good, a lot more cops walking around and there was definitely a police traffic. >> and traffic moved. >> hopefully it stays that way, i don't like to be stuck in traffic. >> aaa warns it's not the case all weekend. >> an improving economy and low gas prices like 1.83 in cherry hill. >> aaa guises to pack your

parkway and the museum of hart is the focus for the 6 abc dunkin' donuts thanksgiving day parade, and we look forward to televising the parade for you, eva pilgram is live on the parkway tonight. what are the big stories on this night before the big event, the big parade? >> oh, yes jim we are counting down until the parade tomorrow morning, here on the parkway it's still open we see traffic coming through. it's coming through periodically and it should be closing any minute now, you can see all the tents and trucks here in preparation for the parade and all the flags are up and we have a little more than nine hours before the 6 abc dunkin' donuts thanksgiving day parade steps off. ♪ ♪ it was a busy day on eakins oval. >> the practice today and tomorrow the big show. >> rehearsal after rehearsal. >> this is our first time ever doing the thanksgiving day

parade. >> a parade that will air tomorrow morning now in the 96th year, the oldest thanksgiving day parade in america. this year thanks to the mild weather, organizers are expecting a large crowd along the route and with a large crowd these days comes extra security. >> an increased police presence, it's to be proactive and let our spectators know and our viewers know this is a safe place to be. >> we are told there is no known threat to philadelphia at this time and no restrictions of what you can bring to the parade route and tech s spectators are allowed to bring out their tents to tailgate as usual. >> police are checking grab stands and assembly areas, we don't expect to check spectators but if by chance they ask, they are doing their job and making sure we are all safe.

pennsylvania state trooper, pat casey, shot yesterday on the vine street expressway has been released from the hospital so he can spend thank giving at home. but the teenager that allegedly shot him isn't going anywhere. "action news" reporter, vernon odom is live at the belmont barracks with the state police. you have an update. >> reporter: jim, first good news, trooper casey is at home tonight resting and recuperating and happy to be there here on the eve of thanksgiving. state trooper, pat casey, left the hospital in late morning apparently in good spirits, despite the .45 caliber bullet still lodged in his left shoulder, he is glad his injury was not worse in the wake of that shootout. >> yes, i'm feeling much better. >> pretty harry experience? >> you could say that. >> happy to be going home for thanksgiving? >> very happy. >> his parents came to take him

initial reports were that two people were trapped in that vehicle and they are obviously out of the car now and we do not have any word on their conditions as of yet and fire crews still trying to put out the blaze, and they almost have it now. just a minute or two ago. that entire vehicle was just consumed by fire. it looks like firefighters are getting the upper hand, that is the situation on the ramp from the montgomery drive to the eastbound schuylkill expressway a lot of emergency vehicles are in the area. crews spent the day cleaning up after a man vandalized the hospital, he threw several itemed out of the ninth story window and a pipe was broken causing water damage down to the fourth floor and security apprehended the man they

reopened today. two patients at crozier medical center began in style this afternoon. they were treated to an early holiday dinner surrounded by friends, family and their surgical teams, both patients got kidney transplants after a long time on the waiting list. they won't be able to have turkey and trimmings at home, the hospital brought the feast to them. come on in pop pop. happy birthday. i just had a heart attack...

season, however i am tracking a dreary finish, it's not perfect all four days but future tracker showing you tomorrow afternoon looking nice, 63 degrees if philadelphia, at 2:30, temperatures generally in the upper 50s and low 60s, some great weather in the morning, and great weather to go for a walk and walk off your thanksgiving dinner, this is what happens on saturday, and a cold front approaches from the west and this brings us showers, this shows future tracker 6 at noon, the problem is this stalls over us on sunday and sunday lots of clouds with some rain and drizzle. so our weather will go downhill for the second half of the weekend but right now quiet and dry and 48 in philadelphia and allentown 44 and wilmington 47 and sea isle city currently 50. satellite 6 along with action radar showing the next weather maker and cold front and the
