>> good morning, it is 6:00 a.m., saturday, november 28. here's some of the stories we're following on "action news," a man is hospitalized after flipping his car an lincoln drive overnight. shoppers turn their eyes and hard-earned money for local stores for small business saturday. we're tracking showers moving into the delaware and lehigh valleys. don't worry too much, meteorologist chris sowers is here with a look at the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. it's not going to be a washout. , they will be few and far

between, bring the umbrella just to be on the safe side. it's not looking like a washout. it's nice and dark and the clouds continue to roll in. they will lower and thicken and later this afternoon, maybe one or two showers could pop up across the area as a cold front begins to sweep through. that will bring cooler changes by the time we get into the second half of the weekend. 47 degrees in allentown. that's close to the normal high for this time of the year. philadelphia you're above the normal high, 52 degrees that's where we are starting out this morning. trenton, 49. there's the cold front way up there, you see the shades of blue, it has slowed down a little bit, that's why we'll allow for another mild day. tomorrow the front will be down here. winds shift out of the north, the colder temperatures roll on in. satellite and radar, a couple of showers along the frondle --

frontal system, nothing too heavy. thisthis is the way the day plas out, 11:00 a.m., 60 degrees, limited sun, if you see it at all. 2:00 p.m., same thing. 5:00 p.m., 65 degrees is the forecasted high. maybe a couple of showers push through. if you're traveling there won't be any issues out here, but out west we could see heavier weather. atlanta in the clear, 72. chicago, 39. sun and clouds. dallas and boston, wet weather expected out there, there could delays, check ahead. i'll have another travel forecast in a few minutes, as well as our local forecast and rain. >> it's small business saturday, it is one day dedicated to local mom and pop shops. it's specifically for shoppers to fuel the local economy while knocking off items off their holiday gift lists.

thanksgiving and the river rink is really nice, they added the cottages, it's going to be good this year. >> reporter: if one drawback this season, the heated cabins work too well. >> it's a little toasty in here. >> reporter: the river rink will be open every friday, saturday and sunday through november 28th. >> jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." >> a man is hospitalized after his car flipped over on lincoln drive. the action cam was on the scene on the drive in fairmont park. the 28-year-old driver lost control and flipped the carat 3:00 a.m. firefighters had to rescue the man from the wreckage he was taken to einstein in stable condition. police identified the suspect in a deadly shooting at a car wash. police are looking for 32-year-old bobby taylor. they think he shot and killed

41-year-old alesha taylor in bear. taylor was sitting in his car when it happened. the men worked together at the car wash. pope francis makes a stop in uganda he prayed for christians burned alive a century ago. the king ordered them killed from spreading christianity in the african nation. 2 million people turned out, a accident of the king was among them. the pope is urging people to be mission ears at home and abroad. neither man is accused of aiding the paris attackers they knew people linked to other attacks. 276 people in paris have been held under house arrest during a state of emergency.

republican presidential candidate ben carson is visiting syrian refugees in jordon. he has been criticized for crediting the u.s. refugees from terror ties to that of protecting rabid dogs. his own advisor admits he struggles with foreign policy. donald trump's support among republicans has plunged 1%. his drop off follows a comment he made after the paris attacks. he suggested that muslims in america should be registered in a data base. he is taking on a new controversy his alleged of a mocking disabled new york times reporter.

all this aside, trump is the frontrunner. trump is going to paris for the world climate change conference. leaders will talk about rising sea levels. christmas tree arrives at the white house yesterday officially kicking over the holiday season at 1600 pennsylvania avenue. the tree was grown by a farm in lansdale, montgomery county. they personally presented the tree to the first lady. childhood friends gather to keep a black friday tradition alive in montgomery. animals are rescued from rising floodwaters in texas. >> we'll see a little wet weather around here this weekend, as well. followed by a cooling trend and

average of 51. this number will drop to 50 degrees by tomorrow. we started out an hour ago at 50 degrees, that's where we should be. 35. martins creek, 51. tanersville, 53. trying to make snow impossible with temperatures this warm. smyrna i 52. avalon, 50 degrees. there's not much of a breeze out there at all. satellite and radar, showing a front stretching across the mid atlantic and the northeast. that will put an end to the unseasonable warm weather by tomorrow. even the cooler air on the way behind this front really is not that bad for this time of the year. we'll see temperatures in the low 50s. all the weather out here across the lonestar state of texas. the rain flips to ice across oklahoma and snow in the panhandle of oklahoma and texas.

winter storm warning and ice storm warning. if you're traveling in this part of the country. expect delays, they had an ice accumulation out here, this will push to the north, heavy snows will develop here across the plain states by the time we get into sunday night and monday. this system is pushing northeast as opposed to -- east as opposed to northeast. we'll see showers with this, but not soaking rainle we'll follow this system through as it passes on by. this front is the only weather maker for us over the next 48 hours. just a couple of brief showers. tomorrow morning there could areas of rain to the south riding the cold front. after that i don't think there will be much with this system at all. 1:00 p.m., cloudy south and east, maybe showers north and west. we'll see the trend drift farther and farther to the south

performances every week until february. one of the most cherished thanksgiving tradition is about backyard football. for one group of buddies in lansdale is it's sneakers and sticks. >> reporter: a few minutes before 10:00 p.m. at montgomery park in lansdale, the players begin to arrive. the basketball court become a hockey rink and dozen childhood trend continue a 40 year tradition. >> i think we're still competitive, sometimes we still argue over goals and that kind of things. >> reporter: the guys graduated from north penn high school in 1975. they want to different colleges and always came home for thanksgiving. hockey became their go to black friday thing. >> it started to catch on fire down here with the flyers, the timing was great, i met a lot of wonderful friends here and we started playing street hockey.

>> reporter: for something that's going on for 40 years are there's very little planning involved there's an open invitation to show up at 10:00 a.m. on black friday, one player came in from denver in colorado missing thanksgiving with his family. my wife is supportive and realizes how great it is and thought it was a great idea. >> i think it's wonderful, i've never seen anything like it in my life. i never met with my school friends, yet these going to say continue to play. >> reporter: they play and get tired and eat lunch. they say it's a black friday tradition that's not just about hockey. >> these are true friends they will help you out with anything as life throws you challenges, they will do anything for you, they are a bunch of great guys.

>> reporter: welcome back, everyone, 6:24, saturday morning, we'll do a travel forecast, tomorrow is the busier of the two weekend days. some of you may be flying out this morning. we'll see a seesaw the cold west and the warm eastern seaboard. this is the pattern everybody east of the mississippi river will be experiencing above-normal temperatures. even though we're cooling down it will be above seasonal averages. look at the cold out west, it's been bottled up out here, bismarck, icy stuff up there. 14 degrees, windchills hovering close to zero. the snow is expected to fly sunday into monday across the

high plains. we're expecting anywhere from 6 to 1 inches from east of denver right through the corn belt, souix falls south dakota omaha. to the south, that's where the warmer weather is, that's where we're seeing the rain. flooding continues across the eastern portion of the lonestar state. dallas, 2 1/2 inches of rain and little rock. tharvel delays in the east -- travel delays in the east, we don't have any. all the major hubs are clear, but we have weather expected to develop later on across the central portions of the united states, eva. >> in sports, a record-shattering night for the sixers, their roar back, they lose again. jamie apody has more. >> reporter: good morning, you got to feel awful for the sixers they fight so hard game in game

the cold front which will bring cooler changes to the region for the second half of the weekend is still up here to the north. this line right here, that's where we are seeing a few broken showers, broken nothing too steady or heavy. as that continues to collapse to the south over the next 24 hours or so. it will increase the chances of a little wet weather for us for the delaware valley. here's the day planner, 1:00 p.m., mostly cloudy skies, very limited sun, 61 degrees, 64 mostly cloudy and by 5, showers around and 62. eva? >> we are following breaking news this morning, if you're traveling on the new jersey turnpike, there will be some traffic issues along the interchange there north of interchange 85 on the southbound sides -- 85 on the southbound side, a -- 8a on the southbound

side. there's only one lane moving through there. this accident happened at 4:00 a.m. we don't know what occurred, but we know a fedex tractor-trailer and second vehicle collided causing the tractor-trailer to jackknife and catch fire. firefighters along with troopers worked to get the fire out. state police at this hour are reporting injuries in that accidents, but we don't know how many people or to a what extent their injuries are. we'll continue to follow the story and bring you the latest on air and online at 6abc.com. brand new overnight a driver is dead after this accident in voorhees camden, county. his car hit a tree on the 600 block of white horse road around 1:15 a.m. the 37-year-old driver was injected from the vehicle. he was pronounced at cooper university hospital. police are investigating what caused the accident. it was a similar story in mount

holly burlington county, a car plowed into a tree on the month holy bypass. medics rescued the driver from the wreckage, but he died at the hospital. there's questions about the motive at a colorado standingoff at a planned parenthood clinic. three people were killed, including an police officer from colorado springs. 9 others were shot and wounded five were police officers. >> officers, you know they are obviously in some pain, but thankfully they are alive and talking to us, they are heros. they are heros, the courage they displayed today saved many, many lives. >> all five officers hospitalized are in good condition. the gunman has been identified as robert louis dear of north carolina. he has been arrested and remains in police custody this morning.

there are reports that possible explosives were found in his car, at this hour, authorities don't know too much about him or if planned parenthood was a specific target. toll plaza. the car burst into flames trapping the driver inside. the body was cut from the vehicle. before the accident they received a car about a car operating erratically, so far they have not ruled out the involvement of drugs or alcohol. there were no other injuries. black friday shopping was marred by large groups of protesters in several industries. hundreds blocked entrances on chicago's magnificent mile. shoppers were met with protesters on the streets. the protest happened as shoppers hit stores in down down seattle. demonstrators managed to make it into a macy store at one point. police prevented them from entering a shopping center where christmas tree lighting was taking place. in chicago, hundreds of protesters spent their black friday blocking off a luxury

was destroyed by fire. the flames engulfed rodney weavers wrecking i yard in east hanover township. the other than was working on a car at the time, the smoke from the blaze could be seen from miles away on interstate 81. thankfully no one was hurt. goodness gracious. >> reporter: we have a decent forecast coming up today. a little wet weather this afternoon, i stress the word little, not going to amount to all that much. let's get you outside and show you what's going on around the delaware valley. you're looking live at the ben franklin bridge. we have a lot of cloud cover in advance of the cold front that's approaching from the northwest. that front will put a end to the enseasonable warm temperatures. not until we squeeze out today. we'll have another nice one in the 60s. and then things thing.

62 degrees in philadelphia. high than the normal high. 49 in allentown. we're expecting a high of 65 degrees that's normal for 20. here we are a few days away from december. the unseasonable warm weather continues there's the front right there hanging above the p-a new york state line. that will collapse during the day, it will cool the temperatures off overnight tonight into sunday. a couple of showers are possible along the front. note here we're not seeing the darker shades of green. the stuff is very, very light. some of it is not reaching the ground. if you're for exampling today, tomorrow is the bigger travel day. if you're traveling into new england, boston, new york city, there will be some wet roads as the front collapse to the north. no delays are expected. you just saw the radar, it's very, very light. the bulk of the moisture with the system is to the south southern plains, heartland of

the nation, front range of the rockies. that's a huge system that will gather strength and push east and work off the coasts of georgia and south carolina. it's not pushing near our neck of the woods. if this front wasn't here we wouldn't see anything over the next couple of days. that front will bump this to the south. tomorrow morning we'll see a small little wave, sort of like that low ride the front that will increase the threat of showers south of the city by the afternoon most of the area will be clear by that want, just a few -- that point, just a few leftover clouds. in the evening hours, same thing, one or two showers possible. overnight tonight, the rain increases closer to dawn mainly in the city south and east. north and west, peeks of sun and rain drops.

that trend continues through the first part of the afternoon. notice how quickly we're clearing north of the turnpike. allentown and reading 2:00 p.m., full sun, south jersey hanging on to showers. as we advance it we get into the late afternoon and evening hours. everybody clears out as the system works south and east. today expect temperatures in the mid 60s, probably add 5 degrees to every number you see here. the model a little too cool today. the front is drifting to the south over the next 24 to 36 hours. tomorrow it will be cooler than what we're seeing right now with the temperatures dropping into the 30s and 40s. for today, get out and enjoy it. 65 in philadelphia. wilmington, 65. 66 mill iville. allentown, 60 degrees, all these numbers normal for october. mostly cloudy, chance archdiocesan shower. overnight tonight, 30s and
