people heading home from work this evening. the big story on "action news" is the soggy conditions that keep on coming, the good news is that it is pretty warm out there. >> the warm air will soon bring us cooler temperatures, cecily tynan is keeping a close eye on storm tracker radar. >> we have a wet start to december. double scan live radar showing the rain that moved through this morning has pushed over new england and a few lingering showers but it's not over yet, there is more rain waiting in the wings, it comes in waves, they will be moving through later on tonight and this is the watch that i'm watching during the day tomorrow, and that will have the heaviest rain and what is going on is a frontal boundary upon that. the front is like a train track. that being said, double scan live showing a lull in the action, a few scattered showers,

more is on the way overnight and tomorrow is the wet day, rain so far this is a good soaking already, generally a half inch of rain, close to an inch of rain near wilmington and we could get a half inch to inch of rain tomorrow. the good news is we don't have to worry about freezing rain or anything like that, it's all liquid now, temperatures in the 50s, running 5 degrees above normal. even the poconos 42 degrees and tomorrow temperatures rise up into the 60s, here is what to expect, tonight areas of light rain and drizzle and a bigger problem than the rain is areas of fog and that develops in the overnight hours and again we are looking at a half inch to inch of rain. i'll have details on the timing and what to expect behind the system coming up in the full accuweather forecast. >> all right cecily we'll check back in later, stay with

from the owls 7-0 start and their current ranking, coach rule and his team did a lot to raise the school's profile. >> it's a great opportunity for us to show the country and families across the country and high school students what temple made means. >> officials say that all of that buzz is paying dividends, the open house was the largest ever with 6,000 attendees, and freshman applications for the fall class is up 11% over last year, but karen the school admissions director says that the football program is putting a smot light on what is already happening at temple. this year's class included 591 honor students and that is an all-time high for temple and it was ranked the 115th best school in america, that say jump giving the university its highest ranking ever. >> and we spoke with potential

first day of december, our high 56 degrees, that is 6 degrees above normal. so that mild trend continues and we had it over november and the december outlook, not looking good for snow lovers, blame el niño, if you want to see below average temperatures you will want to go to the southwest and we are looking at above average conditions, as far as temperatures at the end of the month and the greatest above average temperatures will be across interior new england and the great lakes, a big impact and the big reason why this is happening, because if you don't have snow pack it causes the modification and that keeps the air mass relatively warm and we have some cold shots but it's a mild month. temperatures today 55 in philadelphia and currently again the high is 56 and 6 degrees above normal. millville 55 and cape may currently 56 degrees, satellite 6 along with action radar showing a complicated storm,

there is a weak coastal low move ago way from us and you can see the complex of fronts. there is a warm front and cold front and this will help syphon up the moisture from the south and as that happens it will be pulling in warmer air, future tracker showing 12:30 in the morning and the batch of rain moving in and temperatures rising a bit 60 degrees at 7:00 and temperatures north and west of philadelphia, and late in the morning and afternoon, this is when we get the heavy rain, and temperatures in the 60s and the cold front it sweeps through late wednesday night, it should be exiting the coast at 11:00 and this should shift the winds from the northwest and bring us drying conditions on thursday and breezy and cooler. future tracker colder but additional rainfall getting an inch of rain on top of today, so

murder-suicide in hatfield, montgomery county. they are 48-year-old gretchen and her son robert peplo. authorities say that paul marshall used a rifle to shoot and kill them both, his daughter and her son were in the house but were not injured . a man pumping his gas was suddenly ambushed by a group in men in kensington. it happened saturday afternoon at the bp station, the man got out of the car and was standing next to the pump and motioned to several others and then several people surrounded the victim and went through his pockets, and then one thief jumped in the driver's seat and took off with the car. the search continues for

this man who police say sexually assault aid woman. according to detectives a man followed a woman into the septa station and moments later he grabbed her, fondles her and then runs off. anybody with information is asked to call philadelphia police special victims unit. and theft charged now for pretending her mom was ill to raise money and then stealing it. jack walen charged carolyn grandee with the theft and apparently set up a fake go fund me page and apparently took $40,000 from her mother's bank account. it's not clear what caused a small fire on the stockton campus, it started in the lab's aquarium, fire crews put it out and cleared the building to put it out within the hour. fortunately nobody was hurt. >> a wilmington based chemical company lays off 5% of their
