"action news" reporter jeff chirico is live outside that home on sully avenue in the rhawnhurst section and jeff, we're told it has already been a rough weekend for that family. >> reporter: that is right, walter. another family member who lives here had to be taken to the hospital earlier yesterday for a different health problem. then around 1:00 this morning those inside started feeling some symptoms, they told a neighbor who then call 911. hours after a carbon monoxide scare here windows and doors are still opened, airing out the home of the potentially deadly gas, that i can end a family. officials say that the close call was caused by an oven,

used to heat the home on the 2200 block of sully avenue in the rhawnhurst section. pgw on the scene to investigate after an elderly couple and disable 26 year-old grandson were taken to the hospital. >> they are all fine now. but their levels, the the levels were supposed to be like one, their is like ten. >> reporter: couple's somebody robert brandton lived in the home but was in the hospital for an unrelated health problem and unaware that anything had happened until he turn on the morning news. >> i said jesus, i saw my house, on tr. so i called up, the other, i was in frankford and i called up frankford torresdale and i talked to my mom and she said it was carbon monoxide. >> reporter: by mid afternoon brandton was loading his son's wheelchair in the van to pick up his family from the hospital. he does not believe his parents were using the the of tone heat the home, he blames malfunctioning heater. where are you going to sleep tonight. >> here. they said it is fine.

just don't use the the heat. so i will go, a buddy of mine is a heater guy and he will come out tomorrow. >> reporter: and brandton's mother and son are expect to, return home tonight. he tells me that his father will be kept at the hospital, for observation, for another night. we are in rhawnhurst section of philadelphia, jeff chirico for channel six "action news". walter? >> thanks, jeff. police in philadelphia are looking for a man they believed stabbed two people earlier this morning. it happened after some sort of altercation on the 1200 block of saint james street in center city. up investigators say three men were in the fight when one pulled out a knife. a 31 year-old victim is in critical condition at hahnemann hospital and a 27 year-old is being treated at jeff on hospital. a driver is facing a bunch of charges for leading police on a chase through delaware county. investigators say they were investigating a domestic disturbance call in ridley township when a man was involve sped away from police. as they caught up to him on route 420 in ridley that

driver reportedly lost control and slammed in the tree. the suspect was then taken to the hospital, with non-life threatening injuries. pennsylvania state police are investigating a deadly crash in northeast philadelphia two cars collided at about 3:30 this morning on the roosevelt boulevard, on ramp to the schuylkill expressway. one of the drivers, five two-year old ivan quarterman of sicklerville, new jersey was eject when his car rolled over. he was rushed to hahnemann hospital where he died a short time later. quarterman was a septa worker, a transit supervisor, who was off-duty at the the time of the crash. nobody else was injury. good samaritan was struck and killed on 195 this morning in mercer county. new jersey state police say 54 year-old leonardo cammacho of toms river witnessed a hit and run in hamilton township and got out of the car to help the person involved. the as he walk toward the victim a pickup truck hit him and killed him. that driver stayed on the scene, and will not face any charges, police are still investigating this case. law enforcement officers from all across the country

and a few from around the world are in philadelphia as a part of the fbi training. fbi national the academy course teaches new techniques focused on education and research. it highlights the importance of worldwide cooperation by law enforcement. professionals offer classes at philadelphia police headquarters. it was a season for record books but temple's football team came short of just winning the aac championship game. owls fell to houston this afternoon four-three. motorcade making its way around the delaware valley earlier today. it was part of the tribute honoring 274 fallen philadelphia police officers. hundreds of volunteers, police, and family members came out to visit 54 cemeteries all across the region. at each grave, blue wreaths were laid in honor of the sacrifice these officers made while doing their jobs. ceremony was also held to honor those officers whose graves could not be found. the american red cross continues to work with the philadelphia fire department, to minimize fire related deaths in the city. action cam on the scene here in frankford this morning as volunteers went door to door installing free smoke alarms. thinks all part of the ongoing no more fire death campaign. fire officials say this partnership played a major role in reducing the number of fire-related deaths the in philadelphia from 31 last year to 12 so far this year. there is sure to be a lot of smiles on the faces of local kid come christmas morning due to the generosity of our areas first responders.
