7:00 a.m., saturday, december 12. here's some of the stories we're following on "action news." smoke pours from a roof on a bucks county home. call for avoidance of trump businesses. a storied tradition marches on in philadelphia as the cadets clash with the mid shipman. let's go outside to chris sowers. you said you didn't need your coat today. >> reporter: this is probably all you'll need as you head out to the army navy game.

we expect high temperatures in the mid 60s. we're sitting at 51 degrees in philadelphia. millville, 42. dover, 43. 44 in the poconos, and lancaster, 42 degrees. satellite and radar it's not going to be a pretty day, we won't see a ton of sunshine, but the sun will shine through the high, thin clouds that spread west to east. you see sprinkles western pennsylvania and great lake states all that will stay to the west. we're not checking wet weather today or tomorrow. we're expecting unseasonable mild temperatures. today's high, 66 degrees. that would break a new record. clouds and sun, warm. sunday cloudy and warm, that too is a record high. 70 degrees is the forecasted high. sunday, some 25 degrees above seasonal averages. if this were july and we were

talking about temperatures 25 degrees above average. we would be forecasting a high of 112 degrees. it shows you how rare it is to see this kind of warmth during the month of december, but then, again, i haven't heard too many complaints. the weather will stick around for the next five days and then we have cool changes in the seven-day forecast. i'll have the details when i see you in just a few minutes, eva. >> a storied rivalry is heating up with the mid shipman, the nearm -- army and navy will duke it out in philadelphia. joining us live from the stadium is "action news" reporter, trish hartman with a preview. getting excited down there today. >> reporter: that's right, eva, espn college game day will broadcast live from philadelphia for the second time this season. you can take a look. the set is getting set up behind me.

steak and drinking some good beer and enjoying the sites. had to come and see the liberty bell. >> reporter: college game day will broadcast live from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00. kickoff is at 3:00 p.m. at the linc. trish hartman channel 6 "action news." >> espn college game day will be broadcasting live from theilt 9:00 a.m. the fire marshal's office is looking into what sparked a place of a bucks county home. action cam was on the scene on diamond street in hill town township. smoke was billowing from the roof. they were able to to get the fire under control in less than an hour, nobody was hurt. officials in washington township, gloucester county two women are facing kidnapping and

arson after trying to kidnap a child. the woman tried to abduct their 3-year-old daughter from the grandparents home. the young girl was staying there with her three siblings, they could fails up to years behind bars if convicted. a coalition of new jersey mayors are urging the state residents to boycott donald trump's assets. saying the candidate crossed the line for calling for a ban of all muslim immigrants in the united states. the assets include trump national golf course and hotels an other real estate around the world.

ben carson is threatening to leave the republican party condemning a closed door meeting of republican leaders. he said if they manipulate the convention to prevent donald trump from being the nominee he will walk. >> i don't think the party should be doing anything that tt thwarts the will of the people. >> following that meeting there have been several reports that top republicans are working to preevery what could be a split within the party if trump continues to perform well. a new poll shows trump's 0 30 -- trump's 30 -- proposal preventing muslims from entering the u.s. is split. oil fell, the dow lost 300 points. shares and energy stock also

lost 3.4%. wilmington-based dupont could be merging with dow chemical to form $130 billion. the newly created dow dupont would separate into three independent publicly traded companies. they would focus on agricultural and material science and specialty projects. >> it would simplify the management strategy and long term it's what needs to be done. >> reporter: dupont said it would cut the global workforce by 10%. dupont has 7,000 employees in delaware. dr. williamite's contract

helicopter crash that killed four people. it's pointing to the thick fog and heavy rain. there was no communication with air traffic controllers or dispatchers before the chopper went down. ntsb is voicing concerns about medical helicopter crashes in the last five years killing 78 people. the university of iowa has made a change to the name of the student information program. the acronym for the student information system is isis. since isis has taken on a whole new meaning, the school said many students and their parents have complained about the act -- acronym, officials say they don't know how much the change will cost, but it will be significant. dozens of students are taking issue with the name of a restaurant in too -- tucson,

arizona. they want the name of a pizza place to change their name. they opened in 1995. the other than said the name was never meant to refer to illegal immigrants. he said the name was his about his father pete. the unusually warm december has kept a work crew very busy and very snowy section of new york city during this time of year. marcus lane is pouring concrete for a swimming pool in the town of victor. that's not too far from niagara falls. he said the 60-degree temperatures is allowing the crews to get ahead on the pool orders. he said if the weather holds they will be working into january. >> reporter: good he can do my pool next. not just that the handle scrapers are cutting my -- the

way november finished. due to the first 11 days we're running 7 1/2 degrees above normal. this is equally as warm as february was cold this past february versus the averages here. again it's rare to see this kind of weather. thanks to this upper level low. this pattern has been in place for the last 45 days. it has not changed. counter clockwise winds around the low bring in south, southwesterly wind all mild with the cold air bottled up here. as we flip it over to the temperatures, you can see how cold it is on the pole. as it stays mild here, the cold gets colder and colder. at some point it will come down. we're loving this right now, you have to wonder later on, eva, do we have to pay the piper, we'll see. >> let's not worry about that. in sports, flyers in dallas.

and berwick street. the driver ran off, but was found a block away bleeding from the head. he was taken to cooper university hospital for treatment. the store suffered substantial structural damage. we have an update on a nasty crash in delaware county. police tell "action news," the 37-year-old man who was driving died from his injuries. a 30-year-old woman was riding in the car she is at crozer-chester hospital being treated for injuries. the crash happened in the southbound lanes of 476. police say the driver lost control and flipped over. state police are trying to determine the cause. a 15-year-old boy was found shot to death in the back of a abandoned car in north philadelphia. a man said it's his missing son from upper darby. the father identified the boy when police arrived on the 2400 block of park avenue around 7:15 p.m. police say they did not find a gun. they are trying to sort out if this is a case of murder.

>> we got several 911 calls and those calls were of a person screaming and a body in the car. >> the police are hoping the father and owner can provide clues. police say the father and mother lived in the neighborhood before moving to upper darby. chopper 6 hd is over a crash that involved a septa bus at richmond and orthodox streets at 5:30. the bus collided with two other vehicles, four people suffered minor injuries. >> in san bernadino, divers once again searched a lake that officials think the shooters may have visited at some point. they are looking for a missing hard drive that longed to syed farook and tashfeen malik.

officer william porter is accused of failing to buckle freddie gray into the back of a police wagon. five other baltimore police officers are facing criminal charges. the budget stalemate takes another turn in harrisburg, the house returns to work tomorrow night to debate a budget framework approved by the state senate, but there are holdups. the house wants to know about the $1.2 billion tax increase. money for philadelphia's public and charter schools are at the heart of the divide. governor wolf approved the senate compromise. >> on capitol hill congress has averted a federal shut down. president obama funded a stopgap measure that will keep the budget running until next day wednesday. that gives lawmakers time to agree on a spending deal. they have failed to agree on a bill vetting syrian refugees and

>> one family in an apartment complex in oakland, california. a tree crashed into their baby's bedroom during a storm. moments earlier the parents had taken the infant out of the rm. the second time in a year the tree has fallen on at apartment complex. the storm dumped two feet of snow in the sierra nevada mounts. the nearby donor ski ranch does not make any snow, so it's dependent antion mother nature

to supply what it needs for the ski slopes. the owner said the ranch has not had snow like this in five years. meanwhile, we have no snow. >> reporter: you're not skiing, maybe water skiing, just kidding. the temperatures today very spring like. look at this shot, down in cape may. you see the high, thin clouds, we'll be dealing with those most of the afternoon. had we had full sun, let's assume there's not a single cloud in the sky, maybe we would reach 70 degrees. double scan live crystal clear no issues with any precipitation out there. and we'll keep the radars clear over the next few days. we're forecasting a high of 66 degrees, 20 degrees above average. the low temperature this morning was 51. which is above the seasonal average high temperature which is 46 degrees.

we have a rare air quality alert in effect today. if you're one that's sensitive to the fine particles in the atmosphere, limit your exposure how much time you spend outdoors today. the air, the pattern is so stagnant, everything escapes up in the atmosphere, when high pressure is overhead the air sinks, the pollution is trying to escape, but it's pushed back down to ground level. we'll have it again tomorrow, and things will get better by monday. 51 in philadelphia. 46 in trenton. 40 for millville. 44 in wilmington and dover, 46 degrees. very, very mild. it's going to be extremely warm this afternoon. cruel need nothing more than a t-shirt heading to the mall. reading, 3 miles. have i bet being reduced to the west. .5 in dover.
