the football rivalry. army takes on navy this afternoon. espn brings broadcast to the stadium. so much for the weather for the game we're flirting with record highs. this is not our normal for the army-navy game. it's usually freezing outside. chris sowers has the very mild. i keep saying mild, because you keep saying mild. >> reporter: you can use the word warm, splendid did. the fer fer fer wait until you see the numbers in the seven-day forecast. it's minds boggling especially two weeks before christmas. you see haitz out there, we have -- haze out there, we have patchy fog. 52 in philadelphia. it's warmer than the average high for this time of the year. trenton, 50.

are questioning the driver of this car that went out of control at 5:30 and slammed into a camden grocery store. the driver got out and ran off. police found him about a block away. he was treated at consumer hospital for non-life threatening injuries. new this morning, one person was killed another injured on a crash on the blue route. it happened at 12:45 in the southbound lanes of necessitier necessitier -- a woman in the car was rushed to the hospital. the driver died. traffic was stopped for a short time. the scene has been cleared and reopened at this hour. a plane crash in southwestern pennsylvania has killed two people. the single engine plane went down in farmington. the plearch -- plane had just

taken off from the private runway at the resort yesterday afternoon. the pilot and passenger were killed. another passenger is in the hospital with severe burns. officials say the door came off parentally after takeoff and hit a wing. channel 6 "action news" was over the crash in the bridesburg section involving a septa route 25 bus and two other vehicles. all three vehicles ran into each other at richmond and orthodox street. police are trying to figure out what the cause is. a philadelphia fire department official said he was stunned to find his elderly mother who suffers from alzheimers sitting on the porch alone being left there after being dropped off by a septa paratransit bus. >> reporter: she is not a crate of oranges that you dump off.

she suffers from alzheimers she use the cc connect to transport her two and from adult day care. her son a battalion chief was on the way way to meet the bus that was dropping her off. >> i got a call from the dispatcher saying the bus was in front of the house. i said i'm five, seven minutes away. >> reporter: by the time he arrived the bus was gone, he found his mother sitting on the front porch. >> i get there she is shivering in the doorway trying to stay warm. they left her like a delivery package on the front steps. she could have walked off and gotten lost. >> reporter: septa said it had no idea she was an alzheimers patient. >> we had no indication that the rider needed special assistance beyond arm assistance. >> reporter: septa offers

custodial care for those at risk for wandering. >> they have to sign up for the care. >> reporter: meanwhile, septa is mailing the proper forms which would make everyone aware that his mother requires custodial care. >> i'll send it back but there should be some empathy. >> reporter: septa said before the changes they would average delays of 90 minutes 8 to ten times a month. the longest delay was a care giver who left a man on the bus for 6 hours and 49 minutes. new jersey voters may get a chance to approve two casinos

heavy rains caused landslides, the slide has split open sewage and drainage pipes. there's no word when they will be able to return to their homes. chris morta is alive today because of heroic efforts in washington state. his car was found in a ditch, he grabbed heavy piece of metal from the truck and smashed open the windows. he pulled him out of the car, he had been holding his breath and expected to die. he met yesterday since the first time since the rescue. >> i'm so glad i was there. you were there. wasn't your timt

from that point on it's a combination of sun and clouds throughout the remainder of the day. 52 degrees in philadelphia. 50 in wilmington and millville. 48 in allentown and lancaster checking in at 47. satellite and radar, both today and tomorrow we'll see a lot of this, a lot of high, thin clouds cross over the mountains and plant themselves in the delaware valley. they are high and thin, the sun shines through that, that's why we're forecasting the record highs. we should get pleasant of energy from the -- plenty of energy from the sun and that will warm things up. high clouds here, sun shining through. thicker clouds to the west. overnight tonight we'll go mostly cloudy perhaps a spritz or sprinkle in some locations, not a big deal. tomorrow morning, waking up to clouds, once again and maybe patchy fog to see that lift and return of sunshine by afternoon. temperatures up to 70 degrees.

this is the headliner here for the next five days we're talking about unseasonable warm weather up and down the eastern seaboard from tampa to maine. we could have 0, 40, 50 record highs set in the country today and tomorrow easily depending on how much cloud cover we see. there's no signs of the pattern breaking down anytime soon. it could stay this way through christmas. record highs in jeopardy. atlantic city, 67. we're forecasting 66. reading, the record, 66 we're forecasting 64. philadelphia, we're forecasting high that worked break the record. we're forecasting that should be 66. wilmington, 64 we're forecasting 65. we're expecting a few records today, a ton come tomorrow. the lehigh valley, mostly cloudy and mild, 62 degrees for allentown and bethlehem where

pay treat -- army navy game getting attention. donald trump takes his first public shot at ted cruz, but he is not ruling it out for something important. first, though, let's head outside to meteorologist chris sowers and the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. you can see the sun off your white shirt there. >> reporter: feels like the phillies home opener out here as opposed to week 14 in the nfl. temperatures are above the seasonal averages we're shooting for a high of 66 degrees. 52 in philadelphia. 50 in millville. 50 in wilmington. 52 in dover. 48 degrees in allentown. satellite and radar, some of you waking up to some patchy fog, others are seeing a combination of sun and clouds. if you're living in an area that's seeing the fog, give it another hour or so, it should lift it looks like a nice day

from that point on. here's the call for the weekend, record high of 66 degrees, clouds and sun, we'll call it warm. look at tomorrow, mostly cloudy and warm we're forecasting a high of 70 degrees. that's some 25 degrees above average and consider this, if it were summer, let's assume it were the 4th of july, 25 degrees above average means we would be forecasting a high of 112 degrees. that never hams. happens. it's very, very rare to see this high a temperature above average. some of you like it, some of you hate it depending on how you feel about christmassy type of weather. if you're finishing up the shopping or putting up the lights, you can't blame mother nature for not doing it. we have cooler numbers in the seven-day forecast, but they are still above average. i'll have that coming up in just

a clear majority of americans oppose the idea, but primary republican voters are split. >> right now i have no problem with that. i like the idea. >> i wish he would focus on problems with immigration in general. >> that was mary bruce reporting. paris and two other nations are considering a proposed climate agreement aimed the reducing emissions of green house gases. the u.n. general said the whole world is watching. the budget stalemate takes another turn in harrisburg, the house returns to work tomorrow night to debate a budget framework approved by the state senate. the house wants to know more about the $1.2 billion tax increase. it wants more details about the education funding.

governor tom wolf approved the senate compromise. >> the federal reserve is expected to announce an interest rate hike on wednesday. it would be the first increase in nearly a decade. analysts thinks it will be one quarter of 1%. the fed is attempting to put the economy on a more normal monetary track. one of the best known corporate names dupont wants to merge with dow chemical. it would form a company valued at $130 billion. but thrltd be scaling be -- but there would be scaling back in our area. vernon odem has the details. >> reporter: if the dupont dow merger goes through, dow would be the dominant company. they will consult their global workforce by 7%.

with 7,000 employees here in delaware, there would be an impact here. >> we work with them, our department. labor, does a very good job to help connect people with jobs that are available. >> every element of the economy is affected, retail, real estate, schools. >> reporter: dupont and dow have major footprints across the region from delaware to new jersey and philadelphia and it's suburbs. this giant deal would combine two companies that sell agricultural products worldwide and make chemicals for consumer and industrial products ranging from electronics to automobiles household goods and building material and safety equipment. dow dupont as it would be called would be three independent companies one specializing in agricultural and

the clash between army and navy happening today at the linc. you can see everybody out there already for college game day going on started at 9:00 a.m. this morning. they have absolutely perfect weather to be out there tailgating and taking in this football game today. >> reporter: it's funny, because this game two years ago it was in the snow, now we're talking about temperatures in the mid 60s. you'll see folks wearing short sleeves shirts. the eagles game tomorrow. it's going to be so warm over the next few days, you'll think

bridge to rescue. >> they were homeless and starving not only for food but attention. amy found joe when she was volunteering. >> we call it a foster gone bad which means they foster the cat and they can't give him back. now joe plays fetch with his forever family. >> they all love the animals. >> reporter: with more than 60 cats in the no kill facility it takes a dedicated group to run the facility. >> they will live here for the rest of the their lives or until they are adopted. >> this is janey our mascot. she is not available for adoption, but munchy is looking for a forever home. this cat was found in distress. somebody has clipped her tail off and she was pregnant. >> all her kittens were adopted
