and the police officer at the hospital in center city. monday night, the big story on "action news" is hit and run on the streets of philadelphia. the victim was a cop. "action news" reporter dann cuellar live outside of jefferson tonight. dann, first things first. what is the condition of the officer? >> right now, jim, he is said to be in stable condition. he suffered a severe head injury, broken leg and shattered kneecap after being struck by the suspect's car, as he tried to flee. and the windshield on the passat shows how hard he was hit. and the driver hit with force, body flying up handing on a parked car >> according to witnesses his body flipped and landed on the hood putting a large dent and the vehicle sped off.

>> and 17th district officers responding to reports of a man with a gun and the man attempted to flee going the wrong way on a one way street. and he abandoneded his car with potential call relatives in it. >> he left an 18-year-old female and 11 boy in the car. >> the officer were praising those on the block going to the officer's aid. >> it shows there are good people out there that are willing to help the police at times of emergency. >> now last word the officer was undergoing a cat scan to see if he suffered a concussion. he is in stable with non-life-threatening injuries. they know who the suspect is and where he lives, it is just a matter of time before they catch up with him. live at jefferson university hospital, i'm dann cuellar, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you.

the police investigating a shooting in the kensington section of philadelphia. the woman in critical condition after being shot in the head. they say the 37-year-old was standing in front of a home in the 300 block of east somerset when hit. she was taken to the temple hospital and police yet to make arrests. they don't know if she was tarred or hit randomly. and students gather in the midst of mourning the death of 14-year-old steven kim who was killed saturday night while skateboarding in southeaston and turk's road in doyletown. and the car couldn't stop in time. they marched around the field with kim's family. and he was the quarterback with a promising future as a student and leader. his sister addressed the crowd. >> one of the best persons i

>> thank you. bill cosby is suing seven women who accused him of sexual assault. cosby filed a countersuit after the women went to court seeking money from the actor. in the lawsuit filed today, cosby claims the false allegations cost him to lose jobs. nearly 50 women accused cosby of sexual misconduct and he denied the allegations. the investigatesors say charges unlikely for the mother of two whose children were carjacked in camden county. the police say she left her 8 and 10-year-old in a running car outside of a liquor store on saturday night. surveillance videos showed the 38-year-old walk across the street and jump into the drivers seat and take off. and he drove a short witness and crashed into a car. and luckily the children only had minor children and he was arrested. the approach of christmas

this is newly-released surveillance video from oklahoma. it shows a man's fit of rage that ended with his pick up truck inside of the lobby of a hotel. two workers at the check-in desk narrowly escaped the truck's path and then he is seen getting out of the vehicle. he was taken into custody but the police have not yet released the motive. the army announced that sergeant bowe bergdahl will face a court martial trial. he was released by the taliban in afghanistan in a prisoner swap in exchange for five guantanamo bay detainees. he walked off his post in afghanistan in june of 2009. today the army said that he will face charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy and could get life in prison. starting next monday, most

drone owners have to register their devices with the f.a.a. to receive a regular administration number, drone owners need to provide their name, address and email address. for the first month it will be free to register your drone. after that it will cost $5. amazon and overstock stopped selling some hoverboard because of the reports of them catching fire. and they can't the company to prove they are safe before they start selling them again. they think the lithium batteries could be causing the fires. with just 11 days to get there in time for christmas, mail made it through the postal system today, the busiest mailing day of the year. "action news" toured the proc s processing center. a typical monday they sort about 500,000 letters. today that number jumped to 1.2 million. and that is not including packages.

so be nice to your postal carrier they are soon responsible for all of this. the busiest delivery days are later this week. pennsylvania's teaming up with the waze app to save the realtime traffic data. penndot providing information on crashes, road conditions and construction zone to the waze app giving drivers accurate information. and penndot will use the data reported by app users to improve its road monitoring. waze has more thoni than 117,00 tough users. and filling the rotunda in harrisburg and tom wolf and first lady francis turned on the state christmas tree lights. and there are actually 28 trees around the capitol complex through january 11.

and a special guest today, santa claus listening to what the little boys and girls want for christmas. and that is christmas today at the capital rotunda. a beautiful sight. >> and a lot of people complaining to me on my facebook page that it just doesn't feel like christmas time. it is too warm out there. >> it doesn't, it is too warm out there. >> i am track the the first below-normal temperature day on saturday and then temperatures back up. double scan showing we have some showers around, light showers in bucks, montgomery county. you look at the line moving into western berks county, that's a line of some gusty showers right ahead of a cold front. crossing 422 and 322. as it comes together and moves to the east we could get pretty intense wind gusts as it moves through. what this will do is really shift the wind direction and pull down slightly cooler air tomorrow.

so we are saying good-bye to temperatures in the 70's. we will be in the 60's tomorrow. today the high in philadelphia is 70 degrees, the old record of 69 set 134 years ago. allentown smashing the old record of 60. and trenton record, and wilmington record and mount pocono just set a new record high of 60, and that's the current temperature. not making know in the poconos now. 67 degrees in philadelphia. if we hold at 66 or above after midnight, that will be a new record high tomorrow set very early in the morning. and the temperatures drop a little bit heading through the day. satellite 6 and action radar showing this is a system bringing some showers throughout the evening hours. once that moves through our skies will begin to clear. and tomorrow bright and sunny, a lot nicer to look at than today. futuretracker showing around 2:00 in the morning you see the line of the gusty showers. and then by the morning commute, bright sunshine, temperatures in the 50's. so not that cold.

and temperatures up into the low 60's. so 63 degrees and still 18 degrees above normal. so still a very mild day, but not as warm as today. the winds will be the major factor with low pressure up to the north and east. high pressure building in from the west. we get the wind tunnel effects. the wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour tomorrow, so you may want to secure the garbage cans and decorations outside. and wednesday, pressure from the north bringing us winds out of the northeast. it will be cooler, not as breezy. 57 degrees. and that cold front will bring us rain on thursday. and behind this, a big temperature drop. on saturday, back to reality, finally feeling like december with the jet stream way down to the south. we're looking at wind chills in the 30's. this is a progressive pattern. the jet stream will move up to the north as we head through next week. so tomorrow sunny, windy and mild, 63 degrees. wednesday, 57. thursday, periods of rain with
