was in the process of rebuilding when the last fire and the unthinkable happened. >> guys cleaned them out to get ready to renovate the whole church and yesterday i was here to help them clean things out and it was looking good. heavy equipment was brought in to help remove debris and church officials are vowing to rebuild, a 34-year-old was shot and killed in southwest philadelphia tonight and police have no suspects, the victim was simply walking down the street when the gun fire began, gray hall is live at the scene with the latest. >> reporter: well monica many people i spoke to are in disbelief about what happened and they say this man was out doing possibly what people do on a nightly basis in this neighborhood but tragedily he never made it back home.

>> the crime has the southwest philadelphia neighborhood talking. >> heard four to five gunshots go off and i knew immediately there was gun fire and not fireworks or other random stutch. >> a man walking his dog was shot and killed along the 4600 block of kingsessing avenue, and that victim is 34-year-old mark marshall and lived in the 4500 block of kingsessing. jackson lives just doors from where the shooting took place. >> i go to the window and i see a body in the street and blood, and it was pretty brutal, pretty rough. >> the victim was pronounced dead at the medical center and this employee says that police confiscated video surveillance from his store and the victim was seen walking from the shop and arguing with a man, and police confirm there was an argument and the reason for the

moving off of the coast and a wave of low pressure behind that, that socks us in with clouds and maybe even a few sprinkles the steady rain is moving off the coast and still cloud cover and tomorrow morning some sunshine north and west of the i-95 corridor and then you can see again some sprinkles along the coast and it's a gradual process before we get rid of the clouds and we get the sunshine tomorrow and temperatures are stepping down. tonight though, plenty of clouds and patchy fog and temperatures about the normal highs for this time of year. a mild night, 45 in philadelphia, and allentown 42 cape may 46 degrees and then we are waiting for temperatures to drop down below freezing and the coldest so far, this is the latest in the year we have not dropped below freezing and that looks to likely happen on sunday, tomorrow we'll see clouds breaking for some

once the fire was out they went through the rubble and found the bodies of 55-year-old douglas jackson and his 21-year-old son, douglas jackson iii. this is maeron smith, she is an accused of stealing 9,000 there's from a 90-year-old woman under her care, she was working as a companion for the victim living at plus mills senior facility in wallingford. delaware state police are looking for a woman that robbed a gas station twice in new casting, this is surveillance video of the suspect and authorities say that the robber and an unidentified man entered the shell dash in and held up the clerk at gun point and then the man returns and demanded money. nobody was hurt in either incident. it's not clear what sparked a fire at a center city

not using force but does not stop and is part of the culture and serves as a wake-up call as officers. >> why they got into the job and got into law enforcement the day they entered the academy and have that baseline of clarity. the training they are receiving here is more than just an exercise and what they are learning in this room they use it on the streets and they tell me it's not just protection for the community but keeps officers safe. not to say a deadly encounter mayo curand prevent it from happening more often than not. >> we caught up with this mother and daughter team. >> personally having my daughter here this can eventually save her life and the life of a citizen. >> to demonstrate how they take down a suspect without causing

after a soaking rain today double scan live radar shows the rain is moving off the coast and despite it's no longer raining across the delaware and lehigh valley, the mist is there and drizzle and showers from the garden state parkway from cape may all the way into long beach island but all the yellow is off the coast from sea isle city and even here the ted jer rain is

going to soon end. temperatures are mild, 55 in philadelphia and 52 in allentown and 56 in trenton and 40s in the poconos with another round of rain up there and bare slopes as we approach the christmas holiday season and upper 50s right along the jersey shore, look at the visibility. it's no longer the rain but the low lying fog, a half mile visibility in philadelphia and less than that in wilmington and chester county and lehigh valley, 2.5 mile visible. this fog is not going to last all night long and it tends to evaporate into the deeper overnight hours. but you can see the energy lifting into southern new england with the bulk of the precipitation and rain west of pittsburgh and clouds behind the rain and a lingering shower in the poconos during the overnight

hours, tonight the clouds lipger early fog as well. 39 to 49 degrees and your split in temperature, the 45 should be the afternoon high temperatures this time of year and that will be our low. you look at tomorrow morning 37 millville and 50 at the shore but we can start to see breaks of sun north and west and as we get into the afternoon on friday, sunshine going back to work and temperatures cooler than the last few days, 45 in allentown and 58 in philadelphia and 50s at the shore and the real cool down comes in on saturday and the winds whip up in the westerly direction at 35 miles per hour, 42 not feeling like it with windchills in the tee teens north and west of philadelphia, 50 and breezy and afternoon sun tomorrow and cold on saturday and winds relax on sunday for the eagles in town,

police academy just last february, he was driving on quenton alaway road when he went off the side of the road and crashed into a utility pole, he was responding to a domestic disturbance. and now they are probing into a fire at a wilmington church. this is the way it looked when flames assaulted the new jerusalem baptist church. the church and several homes suffered damage. police are on the scene because there was north fire at the same church two weeks ago. katherine scott is live at the scene tonight. do police have any leads at all? >> reporter: investigator was not say if there are leads but they have been here throughout the day as crews moved away debris and rubble so they could access different points of the
