church fire in wilmington, delaware. they pulled up floor boards and combed through the ashes searching for clues whether a caused the flames. church members were already in the process of rebuilding after a fire sparked there two weeks ago. a convicted cop killer said he suffers from a painful medical condition and claims he has been denied proper medical treatment. abu-jamar testified about his medical condition in scranton. he is severing a life sentence for killing a philadelphia police officer back in 1981. new jersey governor chris christie chris has ordered flags at half staff in honor of eli mccarson. he graduated from the state police academy last february and

about it and flurries in the poconos. we don't expect to see any measurable precipitation in the near future. 43 degrees, 35 is the present temperature reading. this is the big story, winds out of the west 20 to 30 miles per hour. these are gusts, philadelphia, 26, millville, 25. that puts the windchill down in the 20s. reading feels like 21. lancaster 20. 15 in the poconos, 26 in philadelphia. millville, 24 degrees with colder numbers out here to the west. pittsburgh 25. buffalo, 27. binghamton, 25. washington, d.c. 33. some of the coldest air we've seen this season is working its way in. if you're a winter weather fan, a snow lover, the disappointing news for you guys is, the cold shot will not last that long. cold enough to turn on the lake-effect snow machine lake erie and ontario.

the snow will be 6 to 18 inches. it will get 15, 20 miles per hour from the lakes that's about it. not over the appalachian mountains, maybe a stray flurry for the poconos. the big story is the cold temperatures and blustery windchills. you can see the lake-effect snow trying to work into scranton and as far south as the poconos. for the most part you're looking at a combination of sun and clouds. everybody else, same thing, clouds from time to time, blustery and cold, overnight tonight, the winds diminish a little bit, breezy, though, we get into sunday afternoon, it looks like the same, combination of sun and clouds. if you're planning your day and finish up the christmas shopping. by 10:00 a.m., it will feel like 25 in reading, noon 28 it will feel like across the western.

>> reporter: the ice rink was packed while others kept warm by the fire making a picture perfect holiday scene. ♪ it's cold outside ♪ merry christmas. >> reporter: jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." >> a delaware county walmart is back in business after someone called in a bomb threat in boothwyn. as a precaution police evacuated the walmart and surrounding businesses. after 1:00 a.m., officers cleared the scene and say the threat was a hoax. no word on who called in that threat. 25-year-old kathryn knott of southampton bucks county has been found guilty on simple assault and other misdemeanors in last year's attack on a gay couple. it cover different. she was acquitted of the felony charges of aggravated assault.

the jury found that despite her insistence to the contrary she shouted gay slurs and hit one of the men. two employees at a south jersey special needs school have been charged with assaulting two students entrusted to their care. 28-year-old and 28-year-old repeatedly hit a 14-year-old boy with a leather belt an forced a 19-year-old to crouch underneath a desk for hours at a time. the alleged abuse came to light when the school nurse noticed marks on the boys beads, -- bodies. both were fired. brad ross was accused of stealing pills and evidence. he entered a rehab. >> fell counts of tampering or
