amid a new campaign controversies. those stories in a moment, but first let's get to the chilly accuweather forecast. >> reporter: feeling like december, i would say, there's the view as we get you outside looking live at the center city skyline. it's a nice looking morning, lots of sunshine, hardly a cloud in the sky. the temperatures have dropped off now that the cold front has slipped through. numbers in the 20s and 30s first thing this morning and now most areas are back up into the 30s. what you're not seeing is the windchills. lancaster, 31. philadelphia, 34. millville, 35. cape may, 36. but it feels like 28 in cape may. 27 in millville. 24 with the wind in philadelphia and allentown. 20 in reading and 21 degrees out there in lancaster. satellite and radar, not only do we have the cold air in place, we have the lake-effect snow developing off lakes erie and

home invasion in the rawnhurst section. officers were called out to the 2000 block of vista treat around 5:00 a.m. police are searching for two men. new gunfire ends a fight at a restaurant in rawnhurst. police say two men were at flame house grill on the 7900 morocco of bustleton avenue -- 7900 block of bustleton avenue. one man pulled out a gun and fired ascertain 9 gunman took off. the other man is in critical condition. police are checking surveillance cameras for leads. a delaware county walmart is back in business after being evacuated due to a bomb threat. someone called in the threat before 9:30 on the 600 block of conchester highway in boothwyn. police evacuated the walmart and surrounding businesses. after 1:00 a.m., officers

cleared the scene and saying the threat was a hoax. no word on who called in the threat. two workers at a special jersey special needs school has been charged with assaulting two students. police say the two repeatedly hit a 14-year-old boy with alet err belt. they forced a 19-year-old under a desk for hours at the time. they worked in haddonfield. the school discovered the alleged abuse because the school nurse noticed marks on the boy's bodies. both have been fired. a former upper darby police officer is on the other side of the law this morning. brad ross is accused of stealing pills and cash from the evidence room to fuel a drug habit. ross entered rehab and resign from the force in march. investigators think the crime dated back to 2012, with you they caught on this year when items in the evidence room were

misplaced. turning to politics and fresh croars ahead of the democrat be -- controversies ahead of the democratic debate. clinton campaign is accusing sanders campaign of stealing millions dollars in votes. this morning the clinton campaign firing backlashing out at bernie sanders' team for tapping through their voter files. >> our data was stolen, this was not an inadvent -- inadvertent glimpse into our data. this may be violation of the law. dnc cut off the sanders campaign to their massive data base.

on wednesday a software glitch allowed four staffers to access confidential files. they searched for them for 40 minutes looking up information on crucial states like iowa and new hampshire and south carolina. >> if i thought i was doing wrong i would have tried to hide it i didn't. >> i saw that there was data, it was different than ours, that was the extent of what i learned. >> reporter: the sanders campaign tongue the table filing a lawsuit against the dnc accusing the party of helping clinton by cutting him off from the crucial voter list. overnight the dnc controversy -- overturning the decision.

millville, 35. feels like an icy cold 12 degrees in the mountains. 20 in reading, 21 that's what it feels like in lancaster. satellite and radar, you see this little speck of light right here, this is a snow shower that developed around chadds ford this morning, it pushed southeast across gloucester county before fizzling out. places like pitman, glass borough received a little bit of light snow. these were sent in by my mom in glassboro. left a dusting of snow on the ground. there's another shot. you can see a dusting on the windshield and the car there. just enough to make it look like the holidays around here. that is probably gone at this point now. it's the first time we've seen snowflakes this season. it's one of the colder mornings we've had in quite sometime. we have the lake-effect snow machine turned on. this is lake erie and ontario,

they could see 8 to 16 inches of snow with this band here and 3 to 6 with these bands. buffalo for the first time this season actually received measurable snowfall. they had 30 inches on the ground last year with 90 inches of snow just to the south because of the lake effect. it's a change here from year to year in what we've seen in the weather pattern. we'll keep the lake effect machine going, snow guns are on. they are making snow to the west. it will shut off always the wind diminish. this is another great lake cutter that lifts the warm front through and wait until you see the air mass that's underneath this warm front. it will feel like spring as we head closer to the holidays. future tracker 6 windchills late this morning, upper 20s throughout the area. throughout the duration of the day we're talking about upper 20s, low 30s. philadelphia high, 42. feeling like 34.

we'll flip it over to the numbers and show you what's going on. it's chilly out here this morning. first thing this morning we had upper 20s showing up north and west now we're seeing the low 0s. the highs will struggle just to get out of the 30s and low 40s across the western suburbs. fleetwood, 32, quakertown, 31. tanersville, 25. warrington, 23. chester, 30. glassboro, 34. gandys beach 35. same number for dover. ewing, 33 degrees, every now and then that wind gusts and you will feel it. 20 miles per hour right now across the western suburbs is giving windchills in the upper teens and low 20s. 20 in reading. lancaster, 21. allentown, 2 4. deals -- feels like 12 in the poconos. this wind will stick around all day. we're expecting wind gusts between 20 and 30 miles per hour

throughout the afternoon. so the windchills will be in the upper 20s low 30s all day long. satellite and radar, showing just a few clouds to the west, most of the activity should day there. we're looking at sunny conditions a couple of clouds in the sky from time to time. colder temperatures, that's the big story. lunchtime, 40 degrees, 2:00 p.m., 42, 4:00 p.m., 41 that's the high today it will be the only day this entire months where temperatures will stay below average. look what happens next week. if you're a cold weather fan this is not the pattern for you. we could be flirting with record-high temperatures by christmas evening. the entire eastern seaboard high temperatures from maine to florida high temperatures in the 60s and 70s and 80s to the south across georgia and florida. i will let you know how long that weather sticks around when i see you in a few minutes. >> a jury has handed down a mixed verdict in the case of a

woman accused of attacking a gay couple in center city. a jury acquitted her of the most serious charges, but convicted her on lessor counts. katherine scott has the story. >> reporter: jury foreman said the jury did the best they could convicting kathryn knott on 4 misdemeanor counts of a gay couple in center city. >> the jury was satisfied. >> she was akuwaited of all the -- she was acquitted of all the felonies. >> reporter: kathryn knott the daughter of a suburban police chief was convicted of simple assault and two counts of reckless endangerment and conspiracy to commit the assault. she was acquitted of vicious

assault. >> they were not out for convention. this jury verdict recognizes that. >> reporter: back in september 2014. kathryn knott was walking in a group of 15 people when the attack took place left a mantua a broken jaw. two co-defendants pleaded guilty and not probation. knot testified she never shouted slurs or threw a punch. evidence supported her guilty, but the debate got heated in the conspiracy charge and they had to make compromise also -- compromises to reach a verdict. >> we had to make a decision so she didn't walk away again. >> i felt so bad for them. this is unnecessary, it never should have happened. >> reporter: katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> president obama and the

first lady met with first responders and the families of victims of the terror attack in san bernadino, california that left 14 people dead. he said the families of the shooting victims represent strengthen unity and love. >> we have to remind ourselves of the overwhelming good that exists out there. we have met some of these folks despite the pain and the heartache they are feeling they could not have been more inspiring. >> the meeting came about two weeks after 9 men and 5 women were killed when a married couple opened fire at a holiday party. new this morning, a police officer in colorado accidently firedded weapon when he slipped and fell on an ice patch. he ended up critically wounding the car theft suspect. the shooting happened in aurora. officer drew the gun and ordered the suspect out of the vehicle

when he slipped hitting the suspect. police are investigating the officer-involved shooting. the suspect is in critical be but stable condition. the truck driver accused of causing the crash that severely hurt tracy morgan and killed his friend wants the charges against him dropped. kevin roper wants to ask the judge to drop the chargessed lawyer said he can't get a fair trial because the negative publicity surrounding morgan's federal lawsuit against walmart. else faces death by auto and assault by auto. pennsylvania lawmakers vote to end the budget stalemate. governor said they have the major support to pass the bill in the house. details of the tax package

haven't been made public. a delaware county man who helps families in need got a special surprise last night. dann cuellar has that story. >> reporter: darby borough mayor helen thomas applauded a group of young people who help the less fortunate. >> we like to appreciate you such a young man caring for our community. >> thank you. >> reporter: 25-year-old kenny swinten is behind the group called ugly, you got to love yourself. in the last year he has been supporting families in need and feeding and clothing them and assisting with bill. >> reporter: who got you into this? >> i was the a problem teenager i wasn't going to school and cutting class and my mom got me back on the right track.

that way for couple of days. 42 degrees is the high temperature we're shooting for today. two degrees below average. this is the only day the entire month the highs are below average. 34 is the low this morning. philadelphia is yet to get below 32 degrees so far this season. it's the latest it ever happened in philadelphia. suburbs have dropped below freezing. in the city we've gone to 32. we'll shatter that tomorrow with overnight lows in the 20s. these are current wind speeds out of the west, ten to 20 miles per hour. every now and then we get a gust 250 to 30. mid 20s for everybody. 27 in millville. 24 in philadelphia. and allentown. 12 in the poconos. with the cold wind rushing over the relatively mild lake we get

the lake-effect snow machine cranking. you will see snow coming off lake erie and ontario. maybe we'll get steamers in the poconos. that's about it. huge area of high pressure, a southern high sets up shop next week this thing plows east of the mississippi and everybody warms up to unbelievable high numbers as we get into wednesday and thursday and christmas day. everybody east of the mississippi it's not going to feel like christmas. take a look at this, these are the percentages this year for white christmas. even the areas that see white christmases. no so this year. philadelphia, chicago, detroit all zero. you have to go to the high plains, like bismarck, north dakota or the rockies. those are the only areas that will see snow on christmas day this year. very, very warm. not warm today, windchills starting to drop off, this is later this morning all day upper
