response. trish hartman has been on the scene all morning long with the latest. >> reporter: eva, crews are on scene after the fiery crash that claimed three lives overnight. take a look at the scene. the car that was involved has been taken away, but the burned up tractor-trailer is still on the side of the road. haz/mat crews are working to clean up the fuel and chemical spill. utility crews are out here, as well, while neighbors are coming out to see the wreckage. this viewer video sent into 6abc shows the explosion and crash. police say a black spun out of control. three passengers were killed. >> a witness on the scene said that he could hear people screaming from inside the car and and attempted to render aid to them, but couldn't get to the

vehicle because of the flames. >> reporter: police say a witness said the car was speeding before it crashed. neighbors who live in the holmesburg section say they see cars speeding all the time. >> there have been plenty of times on the corner, i've seen people fly, it's scary, it's scary, there's children, there's a lot of other people, the elderly walking across. >> there's a lot of accidents up here, right behind me, it's like people get airborne if you're flying. i came down here before doing 35-mile an hour and i got airborne. >> reporter: no word yet on the victims' names from police, cops say torresdale between rhawn and end field avenue will be closed most of the day. trish hartman channel 6 "action news." >> trish, thank you. developing this morning, authorities in africa are interrogating several suspects after a device believed to be a bomb was found on an air france

flight. 463 was heading to paris when it made an emergency landing in kenya. the device was found in a library. several passengers are being questioned and bomb experts are inspecting the device to see if it is indeed a bomb. everyone was evacuated safely. this is the third air france flight to be diverted in recent weeks. bomb threats were made against two other flights, but no bombs were found on those. happening today, parishners at a wilmington church that was devastated by not one but two fires will hold sunday malice. they will meet in about an hour. flames destroyed the new jerusalem missionary baptist church on monday night. it is not clear how the blaze started. a 73-year-old man was killed as he walked home in the city's somerton section. it happened on byberry road near

proctor road. police say the driver pulled over. the victim was taken to the hospital where he died. a white police officer seen on video kicking a black suspect in the head breaking his jaw returned to the force today. thomas webster will return on paid administrative leave. he will have to undergo a psychologic valuation before returning to full duty. a jury acquitted him of assault. he testified he didn't mean to kick the suspect in the head and aiming for his upper body instead. a new jersey state trooper who was killed in a crash last week will be laid to rest on wednesday. services for eli mccarson will be held at rowan university. his car was killed while slam into a utility pole in salem county. he was 0 years old and recently married. police say yesterday's shooting in a packed mall was not an act of terrorism.

gunfire erupted in madison sending thousands of customers running for cover. >> my wife and i were inside and i saw a flood of customers, women, children are running toward the back. >> reporter: you were in american eagle. >> we were in american eagle, everyone went to the back. >> reporter: witnesses say several young men were involved in a heated arpght when one pulled -- argument when one pulled a gun and opened fire. police are questioning the shooting victim and looking at surveillance video to determine who was involved. an los angeles police officer shot and killed a man in the emergency room in the hospital yesterday. the man was in the emergency room for minor injuries suffering from an art. he got into a confrontation with the police and tried to grab his general

to 30, 35 miles per hour yesterday. that put pitches in the upper 20s -- windchills in the upper 20s. the winds will subside as the day wears on. they will not be as harsh with what we dealt with. windchills in the 20s. satellite and radar, what you can't see here is an area of high pressure sitting between philadelphia and richmond. the winds blow clockwise around the high. as the high shifts and pulls east, the wind shift out of the of the south/southwest. it's a very mild wind direction for us this time of the year. this system coming off the front range of the rockies that will charge east, as well. we have the winds out of the south, southwest building today. there's the warm front that punches through as we get into tomorrow. the cold front will lose it's punch, fizzle out and run out of steam and never crosses the area. bermuda high takes over. we see wet weather tuesday and

couple of days. the winds are shifting out of the south/southwest. this acts as a bermuda high, when it takes over the pattern it means warm weather from florida to maine. it's difficult for the ski resort to make snow with the temperatures we're forecasting. everybody east of the rockies, this is extremely warm temperatures. here's the high sitting height there. there are the clockwise winds. warm from the gulf up to maine. getting 8 to 14 day outlook this takes us past the new year. it is extremely mild everyone east of the continental divide. >> mack truck is handing out pink slips at the lehigh valley plant. they plan to layoff 20% of its workforce. it assemblies every mack truck of the north american market. the automaker blames the job consults on weakened demand.

colder than the last few days, we have somewhat of a breeze, but we can handle 34 degrees in philadelphia and millville. reading, 32. lancaster, 30 degrees. dover, 33. cape may, 37. and wilmington 33. there's a little bit of a breeze so it feels like the mid to upper 20s right now. 24 in reading. 26 in philadelphia. wilmington millville, and dover all showing 27. and lancaster, 22 degrees, satellite and radar, really this is the last of the cold air once we get past probably midnight tonight that's when the winds shift out of the southwest from that point on it starts to moderate. you can see the clouds approaching from the west. that's in advance of a storm system that's ushering in those milder temperatures. you'll see that reflected in the seven-day forecast later on. the temperature skyrocket by christmas eve. 42 degrees by lunchtime. 2:00 p.m., 45.

let's give you a sneak peek of christmas eve. these are the average high temperatures to our south. tampa usually sees temperatures near 70 degrees this time of year. phoenix and jacksonville, 65. if everything plays out according to plan, these are the forecasted high for christmas eve around the delaware valley. atlantic city and millville that's a record high, 74. philadelphia that's a record high, 72 degrees. so forget the ugly christmas sweaters this year you'll be looking for the sunscreen. nydia and eva when i come back in just a few minutes we'll talk about that and the rain chance in the seven-day forecast. >> now to breaking news out of philadelphia's holmesburg section, three people are dead after a their car crashed into a tractor-trailer. three vehicles wenlt up in flames -- went up in flames and haz/mat crews were called out.

dramatic video, trish. >> reporter: that's right, nydia, police are on the scene. police are not letting people down the hill. you can see not only the burned up tractor-trailer, the haz/mat crews are trying to clean up the fuel and then chemicals from the crash. utility crews are working to try to repair the wiers which police say caused power outage -- wires which police say caused power outages and phone, as well. let's look at the video from earlier this morning. police say it happened around 2:45 a.m. a black camero lost control and crashed into a parked tractor-trailer. the passenger car burst into flames with three people inside. let's look at viewer video that shows flames and explosion. spilled into the street and caught another tractor-trailer on fire. all three people in the car died, even though officers tried to rescue them from the burning car. >> they found the tractor-trailer behind me fully engulfed in flames. subsequent to that, the vehicle behind me, also, was engulfed, as well, engulfed in flames. witness on the scene said you could hear people screaming inside the car, he tried to render aid to them, but couldn't get near the vehicle because of the flames. >> reporter: torresdale avenue is closed. and and it is going to be closed for most of the day because of the cleanup, no word on the identities of the victims. >> now to the latest on the democratic debate, there were laughs and attacks and apology on stage last night.

prompted a haz/mat response. trish hartman has been on the scene all morning long, the road is closed where you are this morning. >> reporter: that's right, eva, we're here at the intersection of torresdale and rhawn crews are on scene after the fiery crash that killed three people according to police overnight. you can take a look down the hill there under the bridge where haz/mat crews are working to clean up the fuel that was spilled overnight because of the crash. utility was working as will to restore power, cable and phone lines while neighbors are coming out to check out the scene. the viewer video sent into 6abc shows flames and explosion after the crash. police say it happened around 2:45 a.m. when a black camero spun out of control an slammed into a parked tractor-trailer. the car booster into flames -- the car burst into flames all three people in the car were killed.

deadly accident a racetrack gasoline tanker exploded bursting into flames killing the

the last month 1/2. what a months this has been so far. november was the second warmest ever for the city of philadelphia. up to this point, december, this december is the warmest that we've ever seen in the city of philadelphia. yesterdays the first time all months that we have daytime highs below seasonal averages. when you take all 19 days, you add them up, the average amount that's the 11.2 degrees above normal. it's by far the warmest december we've ever seen in philadelphia. 1923 held the record, 7 degrees above average. as we look ahead into this upcoming week and the week after that, which gets us into new year's eve. the tempts are anywhere from 15 to 25 degrees above average. i don't think we'll have any problems breaking the record this go around. 36 degrees right now in philadelphia. dewpoint, 16. winds out of the west/northwest at 7. the pressure reading is rising.
