south jersey and delaware, the steady is in yellow down to the south of us and there is a possibility of a thunderstorm popping up in the afternoon and evening down here, if you hear a rumble of thunder take cover in case it's a gusty storm. we have seen a drop-off in the coverage we had earlier from the storm prediction center, for the possibility of severe weather, that is not as much of a concern now. looking at stormtracker 6 live double scan, it's a cold front and ahead of it we are zooming temperatures pulling mild, humid air from the south and record breaking highs this afternoon not only for the day but for the entire month of september. right now we are sitting on 71 degrees for your current temperature in philadelphia, upper 60s in allentown and reading and this afternoon we go for a high of 75 degrees, well above the average high of 42

we'll smash that and the record of 64 and the december high in philadelphia of 73 and tonight looks very, very mild. taking a look at the records that could fall and the record highs that fall, these are the december records in philadelphia, we are forecasting above that, and it looks like a tie in allentown, and atlantic city it's close, lets check travel conditions, delays of 75 minutes in jfk and 30 minutes in philadelphia, we'll also point out there is a two and a half hour delay in atlantic right now, it's a connecter going to and from philadelphia, if some go to and fromatlanta. >> it's another busy day of holiday travel but not like yesterday, philadelphia international airport is under a ground delay at this hour because of the weather, flights are running just about 30

rubble but this christmas tree somehow still standing. their home was torn to pieces but the homeowners are grateful they survived. again, because the damages are still being assessed authorities are asking for prayers. that is the latest from new york, channel 6 "action news." >> all right thank you. back here gun fire broke out overnight in the east mt. airy section of philadelphia, one man was shot and killed. it happened just after midnight and the 34-year-old victim was hit sitting in a car and was able to drive a half block before crashing into two parked cars, he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. the investigation continues. police in montgomery county are trying to figure out who shot and killed a 70-year-old man here, they ran down a

suspect and he turned the gun on himself. they found richard duncan in abington yesterday afternoon, arresting officers cornered the suspect three blocks away and they confronted him and asked to show his hands, that is when the suspect raised hi gun and shot himself twice, family members say duncan and the suspect did know each other. philadelphia police want your help tracking down the men that broke into an old city bar, at four fathers bar and grill tuesday morning, they got in by breaking the window with a brick and they stole two safes worth $14,000. and they tried to break open the cash register. if you have any information call philadelphia police. still to come on "action news" at noon, it's a popular gift item this holiday season the hover board but the concern over the safety of the device
