70s and record high temperatures and not a flake of snow to be found. we found sunshine at times today and clouds still trying to fight the sky a bit and all the precipitation is gone, and fireworks kick off at 6:00 here at penn's landing and at midnight for the second round of fireworks, 40 degrees and windchills remain in the mid-30s and then as we get into new years day, temperatures slip more and 46 in philadelphia and 30s to the north and west, a little cooler for the mummers tomorrow with windchills in the 30s and saturday's high drops to 42 degrees and 30s for buffalo and binghamton and pittsburgh, and 30s for high temperatures will be pushing in here monica i'll let you know when the big change pulls in coming up in the full accuweather forecast. >> as you head out to ring in the new year keep a tab on the

developing right now in dubai, crews are still working to put out a fire at a high rise luxury building, one person suffered a heart attack and the fire happened just before midnight local time and stalled the elaborate fireworks show, it began five minutes after the official start of 2016. christmas may be over but people are going into the new year injured because of this year's hot gift. doctors are swamped with hover board injuries. sharrie williams has more. >> reporter: dr. michael rifflin says he has never seen anything like this. emergency rooms urgent care centers overloaded with people falling off hover boards.

>> 7 in one and a half days. >> the number of injuries could skyrocket. celebrities mike tyson have given the boards a spin and taken a fall. >> dr. rifflin says that every day people are having accidents and getting hurt too. >> i have a 10-year-old and 36-year-old and 9-year-old and 50-year-old patient. >> on this youtube video, a priest in the philippines makes using a hover board look easy but the doctor says balancing is harder than it looks, most patients fell starting out or trying to show the kids how to use the machine, they lost their balance trying to break the fall with their hand. >> it can break any bone along the chain, people can have neck and head injuries. physicians are sharing their experiences and saying that ankle and knee injuries are

affluenza teen is held in this los angeles jail on $1 million bail charged with hindering the apprehension of a fugitive. >> put yourself in tanya's shoes, having a son that is the most hated boy in america. >> ethan couch was transferred to another detention center mexico city, where he will appear before a higher court. couch may have violated his probation sentence, the teen killed four people in a 2013 drunk driving crash and his lawyers successfully argued he was too spoiled to know right from wrong. the pair arrived two weeks ago and even writing his own state of texas on the registration and misspelling his name and only paying cash. they found this gun in the

couch's room and when ethan took it back the pair left moving into this shabby apartment and was spotted here, ethan's hair dyed black hours before the arrest. >> tanya's extradition hearing is expected to take place next week, if found guilty, she faces up to 10 years in prison. reporting live, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you brandy. it is already the new year in many places around the world but some cities celebrations are scaled back and even cancels because of fears of terrorism, in germany, officials in munich just evacuated two train stations and called in extra police fearing possible bomb attacks and in brussels they dismantled the new year's celebrations because of fear of an attack after arrested two men in connection with an alleged plot. they said it would be imable the

impressed. >> they say where have you been all your life. we are the best kept secret in philadelphia. people don't get to see it mostly out of the philadelphia area, when they come here live, it's like oh my god. >> production could cost $50 to $150,000 but participants say it's worths t as they parade down broad street on new years day. >> a lot of work to get here, drills, rehearsals and working on props and costumes, it's a philadelphia tradition that is around more than 100 years, participants say it's about family, friends and entertainment and ringing in the new year, once the parade is over, the work continues and mummers start to plan for the next year. >> there is a theme. and you know costume design and then props design and come down here and build everything, it's one big vicious circle.

adam is here with accuweather if you are outside for the fireworks no worries about rain. >> all the rain is gone and partly cloudy skies and look at brian smiling. >> no rain. >> no no no no rain in the forecast. or in the seven day. as we look at double scan live radar we have cloud cover through much of the day today and we did see some breaks here and there of sunshine and after 10 straight days of the clouds dominating it's a slow process he breaking up the cloud cover and out and about, this is a zep video to look out here and end 2015, all the waterways, they have seen plenty of water of rain and a drink this particular month. but no frozen lakes rivers or

streams, nothing so far this winter season, as we look at the numbers, 48 right now in philadelphia, we are sitting at 43 in allentown and 4-in reading and 51 in dover and still around 50 degrees at the shore. and the ocean is still 51 degrees, that is more typical of november for the water temperature, so if we get some big east coast storms and the winds wrapping off the water it will be a fast transition to rain because the water temperature is running way too warm this winter season. but when you factor in the wind, 36 in reading and 36 in allentown and 42 in philadelphia and feeling like 47 degrees in millville. the front that slipped through with the rain this time is way down to the south, you see all the showers continue from raleigh down to charleston, south carolina and atlanta, georgia and even florida, and on the cloudy side and the clouds

continue to stream in from the south and west and there is a break here and there at times. for tonight partly cloudy and dry and cool and 31 in the suburbs and the westerly wind continuing 5 to 10 miles per hour. and as we wake up tomorrow morning, at some point in the morning, a westerly wind continues, and windchills in the 30s the entire day, it will feel near freezing first thing in the morning and the mummers parade in the afternoon and the wind will funnel through the center city buildings so we'll feel cooler and especially with the shade with those buildings, you'll want to bundle up, we are 5 degrees above average sitting at 46 degrees but a decent amount of sunshine and saturday a crystal clear sky and most of the clouds should be long gone 43 for a high and to the north the first arctic front that pushes from the hudson bay and

the north pole and directs it south southward and 30s for high temperatures as we go into the first week of 2016, the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, partly sunny and 46 degrees for tomorrow and sunny and chilly saturday at 43 and we bump it up a few degrees on sunday, mostly sunny and 46 and with the front on monday clouds come with it and a flurry or two. not going to amount to anything and that could be confined mainly to the poconos, at 39 degrees for a high and the coldest air so far this evening comes in tuesday and 34 degrees for a high temperature. wouldn't be surprised in the lehigh valley, as they struggled to get above freezing. still chilly and dry, and high clouds of 41 and temperatures moderate again and it's a quick hit of that cold air 46 degrees, so we are starting to see signs of more typical winter weather when it comes to the temperatures. but not lasting too long.
