disney world. >> that is big. >> not far away on columbus avenue, lapegs restaurant is hosting a crowd, they have close to 550 for a concert at the theater next door and some stay on for a decadent dinner next year. >> it's a caviar sauce and it's really getting decadent tonight and add in specialty drinks and nice red wine, of course they expect to go through lots of sparkling wine as well. two fireworks shows at 6:00 and then at midnight, lighting up the new years night over the delaware river. every year gets bigger and better and this year we invested more in the shows and more are coming out to the 6:00 show and it's as big as the one at midnight, it's a great way to celebrate the new year. >> happy new year!

mean we don't need to be vigilant. >> there is a crack down on drunk drivers are w check points and roving dui teams. and now accuweather, adam joseph what can revelers expect in the weather world? >> a light chill with the northwesterly wind and temperatures today well above average and no precipitation falling from the sky, high temperature today in philadelphia, 52 degrees and 49 in allentown and 54 in wilmington and wildwood and upper 40s to the north and west and december as a whole running 14 degrees or so above average. this is historic record warmth by far for the warmest december in philadelphia's history, more than or less than half of the month temperatures were in the 60s and 70s and seven record high temperatures and not one flake of snow whatsoever. as we look at satellite and radar precipitation is down to the south and a decent amount of cloud cover but breaks here and

there. as we say happy new year to 2016 your temperature at 43 degrees and windchills in the mid-30s and at midnight the temperature at 40 and speaking of the fireworks i want to pull them in because they started lighting them up into the sky at penn's landing and again no rain like we did this time last night. so grabbing a great show at penn's landing at the present time. as we look at what is ahead. a cool start to january tomorrow and the sunshine will dominate through the upcoming weekend and then our first arctic air will pull in from the north. we'll talk about the dropping temperatures coming up in just a little bit. >> we want to take you back here to see the sights and sounds at penn's landing, they have so gorgeous on the delaware river, and a record crowd enjoying them. bringing the children out because they can't stay up until

a man walked out and shot the woman on the block, it happened on north 7th street and one woman was struck in the neck and rushed to the hospital in critical condition and the other victim suffered a graze wound and the police have the suspect in custody. a nasty shooting left an elderly way fair woman in the hospital. the 75-year-old had finished her grocery shop and grabbed her purse and stole $400 and shot her in the face, john rawlins has more. >> thank god she is okay. >> lieutenant dennis rosenbaum talking about the 75-year-old may fair woman shot in the face this morning, she was return frgt shop-rite with two bags of groceries when she was jumped by an armed robber on the 7100 block. >> there was a struggle and a shot was fired, she was hit in the face and neighbors called police and the wounded 75-year-old picked up her

groceries and made her way home. blood spots marking the sidewalk. >> put the grocery as way and waited for the police to come and take her to the hospital. >> those that know her she say lunch room aide. >> she is stubborn and walked home. >> she say very determined lady. >> very, very she works with 5 to 10-year-olds all day long. >> she was shot in the cheek and walked two and a half some blocks home. >> i am taken with this. >> it's hoped that the victim is out of the hospital soon and told the detectives that her assailant was a hispanic if his 20s or 30s, at northeast detectives, john rawlins, channel 6 "action news." radnor police are asking for your help finding a man wanted in connection with an armed

robbery and an arrest warrant it wanted for kenneth jones, on december 17th police say he approached two workers on a property at pine tree road and that jones robbed the pair at gun point and fled on foot. >> radnor township offered a $7500 reward leading to kenneth jones' arrest. bill cosby's defense team is vowing to fight the fell think charge against him and prosecutors say that cosby gave pills and wine to a former temple university employee before sexually assaulting her at his cheltenham home in 2004. and he was released on 1 million there's bail after arraignment yesterday. her attorney says she doesn't understand the report that he appeared frail. >> he is 78 years old and is blind and he uses a cane and

requires assistance because of that and he is in good spirits and expects justice in this case. >> though dozens of women accused cosby of assault, this is the first time he was charged. philadelphia is boasting its lowest unemployment rate since april 2008, mayor michael nutter announced it dropped to 5.9%, according to november labor statistics, more than 650,000 residents are now employed. that is terrific. there are almost 40,000 more jobs in philadelphia since nutter took office in january of 2008 and today in city hall during his final news conference, he touted other successes during his time in office. >> the fact is that philadelphia is safer today than it was the day before i came into office and the fact is, there is more educational funding report for

clinic in newark. >> they meet me and i talk about the options. >> and terry shared his personal experience with dialysis and the clinic. >> and then it struck joanne she could give more than verbal support she could give a kidney. >> was in church in line for communion and terry's name came into my head, i thought why did i not think of him. i didn't know if i was a match for terry. >> she started the testing and joanne when to terry's house to tell him. >> he said i'm on the list i'm probably getting a kidney soon and i said you are, i'm giving you one and nothing. he said it this for real.

>> on august 27th terry got joanne's kidney and terry was better than he was in 20 years. >> you get your life back. >> and he will get to meet his grandchildren. >> joanne was not nervous and felt it was meant to be and terry hopes that people will give more of themselves in 2016, the impact you can have on someone's life is immeasurable.

and that is more typical of a december for charleston, south carolina, savannah, georgia and austin, texas. what we experiences this december is what the deep south typically sees during this month. 44 in trenton and 42 in allentown and 50 in sea isle city and 34 in the poconos. and a wind in the north northern westerly direction and that is cutting temperatures back and 37 in reading and allentown and 40 in philadelphia and 40 in millville. not too bad considering we are just about to head into january. satellite and radar shows a few breaks in the cloud cover this afternoon and you can see the leading edge of the thicker clouds philadelphia to the south, as we look at the windchills with future tracker at midnight tonight as we head into the new year, feeling like

36 in philadelphia and 30 in allentown and 30 in reading and upper 30s to the south and early tomorrow morning as the mummers start their strut down broad street, if you head down there a couple of things to keep in mind, there is a wind and if are you on the shady side, it feels leak freezing in philadelphia, bundle up and just above freezing in the southern areas. and the forecast for the mummers parade, the westerly wind keeping windchills in the 30s even into the afternoon despite the temperatures going into the middle 40s. if you are in the direct sun definitely going to feel better than that, so try and find a sunny spot if you can. new year's day itself. a good amount of sun and 46 is where we top it off and it's going to feel chilly but it's 5 degrees above average and saturday a chill in the air at

43 and sunny and we are awaiting the first arctic front than drops high temperatures in the 30s for next week. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, 46 tomorrow, lose a few degrees on saturday but then gain them right back here on sunday and sunshine dominating especially over the weekend, then as the front pulls through own monday, a flurry or two, especially the lehigh valley and the poconos a high of 39 and the colder air so far comes in on tuesday. 34 degrees and many of the suburbs begin tuesday morning in the teens and a chill despite a bump back up on wednesday and we moderate the temperatures here on thursday at 46 degrees, and maybe a floating flurry or two. and dry the next seven day and typical for january. >> thank you so much. the count down to new years came early for adorable children in cherry hill.
