warmer weather, lets get the latest information from accuweather and meteorologist, cecily tynan. >> this morning is when the core of this arctic air was over us and we had gusty winds and the windchill dropped down to 4 degrees below zero in philadelphia and 5 below in trenton and 4 below in millville. and the windchill in the poconos 19 degrees below and the windchill advisory was posted and the windchill dropped down below 25 degrees below zero. the temperatures are still pretty cold and the windchill is 25 in philadelphia, everything is relative compared to this morning it's not that bad and what will happen overnight is the winds diminish, and that means another cold night that won't be as harsh as last night. it shows this arctic high pressure over western pennsylvania and what this will do is keep pushing to the east.

and myron paterson was named as deputy of control operations. he will be sworn in tomorrow morning. a pedestrian is on route to an area hospital after being struck by a car in brookhaven, delaware county, it happened at 5:25 along the 3500 block of edgemont road, details are sketchy but the driver remained at the scene and the injuries sustained by the pedestrian are described as serious, a stretch of edgemont road is shut down to conduct their investigation, and now police are looking for a driver that hit a pedestrian in newark, it happened at 6:45 this morning on the northbound lanes on the ramp to i-95, police have not released information on the striking vehicle that drove off, the search is on for the individual that invade aid home

in the bridesburg section of philadelphia and sexually assaulted a woman inside. chad pradelli is inside of the special victims unit in huntsing park. chad what is the lightest here? >> reporter: really a troubling crime, philadelphia police say the home invasion sexual assault occurred at 10:00 last night in bridesburg and the suspect remains at large tonight. it was a simple knock on the door that turned to horror on granite, a suspect armed with a gun forced his way into the home, he directed three women and a 3-year-old boy into a room and ransacked the house stealing a tv, a couple of purses and electronic games and before leaving he took one woman to another part of the house and raped her. >> i was surprised and shocked. >> she didn't hear or see anything that could help investigators and the home
