way home from the supermarket carrying two bags in moments she was shot in the face in broad daylight. the driver was driving this pearl or white colored nissan maxima, when he approached and tried to steal her pocketbook, he said do you want to get shot and she said no and resisted and he shot her point blank in the face and made off with $400 in cash and her cell phone, the bloody victim in the state of shock walked two and a half blocks to her home. >> you take a lady, 75 years old fighting for her pocketbook and you shoot her in the face. there is nothing more heinous than that. >> this woman is home after surgery and recuperating and anxious to get back to her job as a non-teaching assistant. >> she is in pain and i don't think she ever will tell us how she really feels and for that we

chester county man for sexually abusing a young family member. charles robinson will head to trial after waiving his preliminary hearing, police say between 2010 and 2014 robinson repeatedly molested a family member. police in kensington are asking for your help to find the group that stole appliances from a home on north howard street. a surveillance camera captured the crime on december 26th, police say that three men and a woman got inside of a house through a front window and took a washer, dryer and a stove and three mattresses and loaded them into a truck and drove off. they hope that someone has information to track down these suspects. >> a massive rebuild is complete and a landmark restaurant once damaged by fire is reopen tonight. in huntington, new jersey, the

the lack of progress in some of these schools. >> in these remarks mayor jim kenney hinting to lawmakers saying they have to settle governor wolf's budget that allocates $160 million to get the district out of debt and christopher lewis had a forward message. >> without education we won be where we want to be. some try to get some money to local schools. >> last month governor wolf released emergency funds to local schools, which according to hite would be forced close january 29th without the money, it's unclear how long into it's school year the money will last. there were donations and grants by the nonprofits and he reiterated they cannot rely on the private sector to get the kids the education they deserve. >> this sets the bar for the

foods, added sugar is high on the hit list mostly from drinks like soda, americans should aim for 200 calories from sugar a day or less. the 2015 report calls for more lean proteins from seafood, meat, poultry seeds and soy and nuts. and they are calling for a more environmentally diet lower in red and processes meats and that processes meats raises the risk for some cancers and that men ages 14 to 70 eat too much protein overall and they should lower their intake. >> of course these guidelines are not one size fits all and they do include a veg tearan option, they have this online tool called choose my plate and this allows you to go in and do changes you can make to make

temperatures in the mid-40s, made it up to 45 degrees and it comes with clouds, coming from the ben franklin bridge, with brightening of the skies, all in all a quiet day and evening, the situation was very different this date, 20 years ago. you remember what you were doing standing outside of the studio. the blizzard of 96, the biggest snow storm in philadelphia's history, started in the wee hours of january 7th and continued through the 8th, 30.8 irngs of snow. a close second six years ago in february, 28.5 inches of snow and hopefully we won't have another snow storm quite that big, this year a big change we are looking at warmth building across the east and philadelphia it's warmer than this time yesterday, charlotte 7 degrees warmer and atlanta 14 degrees

warmer and sunday up near record highs. 44 in philadelphia allentown and reading 41 and millville 46 and wilmington 43 degrees, not harsh at all. satellite 6 along with action radar showing this system that threw us the clouds today is actually pretty potent off the coast and this is going to continue to spin and move away from land and this is a fish storm but if you look to the west you'll see more clouds moving into the ohio valley, associated with the warm front moving in tomorrow night. the call from accuweather tomorrow night, mostly cloudy skies and not that cold for january, 23 in allentown and 23 in wilmington and trenton. as we head through the day tomorrow, more clouds than sunshine, 43 degrees by 40 books 4:00, making it up into the mid to upper 40s, this is when the warm front moves through and could bring us showers, and behind that system on saturday.

"action news" at 5:00 continues now with new details involving breaking news from the east falls section of philadelphia, the eastbound lanes of the boulevard remain closed due to a police investigation, authorities tell "action news" that this is all stemming from a domestic dispute that a man stole a car with his girlfriend's mother inside of it and the man drove against traffic in the southbound lanes and smashed head-on to another car and tried to flee from police by jumping over the boulevard twin bridge, the man as well as the woman in the other car and driver were taken to the hospital and it's causing major traffic headaches in the area. >> for that lets head to mountain pellman with how to get around this. >> that explains the response on the roosevelt boulevard this evening, southbound lanes remain closed and investigators are still out here and they haven't moved the vehicleses involved at

fake explosive vest threatened paris police officers with a butcher knife before he was shot and killed. it happened outside a police station outside of the cathedral, evidence collected from the suspect suggests he had an agenda, alex marquette has the latest from paris, france tonight. authorities here in paris identified this young man that carried out the attack at the police station stoed today and he was from moroccan -- and later today he approached two police officers with a meat cleaver, shouting ala akbar god is great and he did have an isis flag on paper. what took place today is significant because it's the first anniversary of the charlie

wounds when he flipped the suv into a parking lot into the lawndale section overnight. and the driver some how lost control and slammed through a fence and into a lot. and the suv ended up on its side, and it's not clear what caused him to lose control, no one else was injured. >> allentown lehigh county, several people are lucky to be alive. as people were overcome by carbon monoxide, this is the scene at 10:00 a.m. when emergency crews arrived they found seven people suffering from co poisoning and several people were unconscious, there were no carbon monoxide detectors in the building. >> this happened at midnight, 2:00 in the morning when everybody is asleep it's a different outcome, the only way you'll know is through a detector. they took in fans to air out the building and once it was safe they let everyone back in and it's not clear what caused the

co leak. >> i'm here now with the search for a trio of armed thieves in south jersey, gloucester township says the suspect used guyses and weapons and intimidation to rob three convention stores, surveillance videos of each armed robbery was released today, they happened at the 7-eleven along the church street in gloucester township on september 11th, one walked to the counter and asked for cigarettes and pulled out a large enough and demanded money, one returned there a week later and one tried to escape detention by crawling on the floor and they took the money and ran, the third incident happened at the nick knack store in washington township on december 30th, this time only two of the men returned. the frightened clerk moved away with his arms held high as the crooks threatened him with a large knife and they grabbed the
