an apartment complex in washington township. firefighters carried the man up the embankment and took him to the hospital for treatment. at this point, police do not know how the man ended up there, he is expected to recover. now to the latest on the accused gunman in the ambush shooting of a philadelphia police officer. he has been officially charged in that very chilling shooting. we are learning more about the suspect, edward archer fz -- from his own attorney in a past case. >> reporter: this is the first look at edward archer's mug shot. he was charged request attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault of a law enforcement officer. the charge stem from a harrow ambush of a philadelphia police officer after which archer said he did it in the name of islam and pledged allegiance to isis.

apartment complex in washington township. firefighters carried the man up the embankment and then took him to the hospital for treatment. police do not know how the man ended up there, he is examine expected to recover. now to the latest this morning on the accused gunman and the ambush shooting of a philadelphia police officer. he has been officially charged in the chilling shooting. we're learning about the suspect from his own attorney in a past case. jeff chirico has the latest developments. >> reporter: this is our first look at edward archer's mug shot. police charged the 30-year-old from yeadon with attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault of a law enfor enforcemt officer. the charges stem from a harrow ambush of a philadelphia police officer after which archer confessed saying he did it in the name of islam and pledges allegiance to isis. do you have any sense they was radicalized?
