authorities say edward archer is the man seen in the surveillance picture and he confessed to the crime. now his former defense attorney is speaking out, jeff chirico has the latest. >> reporter: this is the first look of edward archer's mug shot. he was charged with 8 counts, including attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault of a police officer. the charges stem from the ambush of a philadelphia police officer after which archer reportedly confessed saying he did it in the name of islam and pledges allegiance to isis. do you have any sense that he was radicalized in anyway. i knew he was muslim and he was in egypt all through 2012. i don't think he had anything to do with isis ago anything like that. this is an act by someone who

>> reporter: let's get you outside, when you look around the country we have it pretty easy. we have snow and biting windchills and for us we're talking about temperatures in the 60s. it could be worse, actually it's about to get a whole lot worse. double scan live showing we're looking at the leading edge of a opponent upper level low tracking northeast into the keystone states. that has developed showers and cloud to grounds lightning strikes. 422, birdsboro up to the north and boyertown and bali, we are seeing heavy downpours and the winds at 5,000 feet are roaring at 70 to 75 miles per hour. some of the storms grow tall enough it could tap into the energy and transfer it to the surface. we're not anticipating severe weather with this. it wouldn't surprise me if one or two downpours turn severe because the winds are gusting. 28 in dover, 21 in reading.
