so you can check out of your tickets. a much more somber note tonight, hundreds came together in wilmington to remember two young lives lost in yesterday's tragic house fire. "action news" reporter, jeff is live outside of the city of victory church in wilmington. jeff, most certainly a very emotional night inside of that building there. >> that's right, brian. that service lasted more than two hours. there was a tremendous outpouring of love and support for the family who tragically had been through this before. >> we pray right now that god has the love that will lift this family. >> grief and songs of praise. as the community gathers to support the carroway family and mourn the deaths of 3-year-old elizabeth and 3-month-old zipporah. >> he could have left us with nothing. but he left them here so they can still have a legacy to live. >> hundreds passed the city of victory church many with donated

clothes for mark carroway and his wife and lost everything. >> i can't imagine the pain. that your kids, it has to hurt. >> i was shocked because they have been through enough. they have been through enough. and all i could say is god, how much more? >> that's the question many are asking. carroway's mother died in a house fire in 1995 trying to save his sister's children. >> one thing i pray to god about is that i didn't want in to happen again because this is what my mother and my sister's kids went through. >> if we ever believed that you are a god, we need you right now. >> neighbors gathered in pray at the boarded up home, a memorial growing at the door. christina carroway escaped with her 2-year-old, but not able to return to save the others. the husband and wife are pentecostal teachers whose worst fears have come through. >> and we always pray, even

through last week that we don't want to lose babies. >> the couple's oldest daughter tells "action news" her mother is in critical condition with second-degree burns or her face, back and her legs. investigators are still trying to determine a cause to last night's fire. live in wilmington for channel 6 "action news." brian? >> jeff, thanks very much. meanwhile, a murder mystery unfolding tonight in west philadelphia. police rushed to the 300 block of north 63rd street around 8:15. they found a man in the rear of a business here suffering from multiple stab wounds. he died minutes later at penn presbyterian hospital. the victim's name has not been released. wilmington the scene ever more gunfire tonight and now a man clinging to life at the hospital. shot in the chest on the 1200 block of locust street at 6:40 this evening. the authorities have not yet identified the motive or a suspect. a conshohocken neighborhood transformed into what looked like an ice sculpture display

early this morning. a broken water service line sent that geyser of water shooting up into the air. but, of course, it wasn't water for long. the sub-freezing temperatures froze, and it clogged nearby drains causing a flood inside that business there. the icicles no shot with the temperatures, the coldest of all season. tonight not just coat and scarf weather, but bundling up all the way, like the top of your head. and adam joseph braving the temperatures with an scarf but no hat, adam. >> the wind died down, that is helping quite a bit overnight. but yet as mentioned, the coldest air of the winter season passed through this afternoon. high temperature in philadelphia was just 29 degrees. that is 11 degrees below average. but at least it was very bright.

right now our wind chills, 18 in philadelphia. feels like 11 in allentown, 20 in reading, 21 in lancaster, 18 in millville. the numbers far better than they were this time last night with winds over 40 miles per hour and wind chills around in the single-dick digits. and for the rest of us as we head out to work and school, sun and clouds, cold with a light wind. temperature 24 degrees at 6:00, and by 8:00 a temperature of 26. when i come back, we talk about above-normal temperatures for tomorrow and the rest of the week, and a chance for some rain at the beginning of the weekend, brian. we have the timing on it all with the seven-day forecast. >> adam, thanks so much. the head of the f.b.i. says the bureau is investigating last week's ambush of a philadelphia police officer as an act of terrorism. director james comey made the comments in pittsburgh today in an f.b.i. field office there. the philadelphia police say the suspect, edward archer, told

detectives that he opened fire on the officer in the name of allah and plannings allegiance to isis. and then information that he was part of a larger group and that the threat to police is not over. >> i am not commenting on his remarks, we are investigating it as a terrorist attack and trying to understand, as we do in all of these cases, what were the motivations. and often it is a tangled web we have to untangle. what are the motivations, who directed or inspired an individual, if anyone and who else might have been involved. that's the work we do and the work we're going right now in that case. >> and comey says isis different than the threat from al qaeda. and the islamic state uses social media to try to motivate anyone anywhere to its murderous goals. the f.b.i. investigation into corruption at allentown city hall snared another suspect. former city controller mary allen covall is charged with con

harassment against jerry devine but not simple assault charges. devine in the classroom but off the court now, teaching special education but remains suspended from his duties as coach. a maintenance worker seriously burned this afternoon when the boiler exploded at a school in west oak lane. it happened just before 1:00 today. the franklin s. edmonds school in 8000 block of thouron avenue. no children injured, the worker taken to einstein hospital in stable condition. the school closed two days while the heating system is repaired. the house lost again in atlantic city. gambling revenues dropped 6.5% and the casino took in $2.5 billion which is less than half of what the industry make in its peak years ago. and four shutdown and eight survived. of course five of them won more

we are following some breaking news out of italy tonight. a suspect has been detained in the murder of an american woman. 35 year old ashley olson found naked on her dead in a rented apartment in florence saturday. an autopsy determined she was strangled with a cord or rope of some kind. crime scene investigators returned to the department and detained a senegalese.

and he is none to be part of the local drug scene and the two seen on surveillance the day before the victim's body was found. 10 u.s. sailors back at sea less than a day after held by iranian soldiers. tonight, new video shows one of the sailors apologizing. the video first broadcast on iranian television. nine men and one woman with hands behind their heads. all of this took place yesterday when the two small boats they were in ended up in iranian waters. in part of the video, which one official says staged. >> it was a mistake that was our fault and we apologize for our mistake. >> the quick release of the sailors is hailed as a sign of improved relations between the united states and iran. secretary of state, john kerry, suggested that a resolution was a product of a now regular conversations between washington

and tehran. the bear is growling on wall street in a big way. stocks tumbled sending the s&p 500 into a market correction. considered a significant milestone. the s&p and dow jones having the worst start to the year in history. the dow fell 364 points. tech-heavy nasdaq doing even worse. analysts attribute the negative sentiment to a slowdown in china's economy and plunging oil prices which while good for drivers and transportation is economically disruptive for energy companies. in flynt, michigan word that cases of legionnaires' disease on the rise. health experts are trying to find out if there is a connection to the city's tainted water supply. tap water contaminated with too mu

3:00 and 5:00 in the morning, again could be a couple of flurries skirting the lehigh valley, especially up to the poconos. the rest of us just some clouds with temperatures starting in the 20's tomorrow morning. and then in the afternoon tomorrow, sunshine, high clouds, 41 philadelphia, 42 millville, and upper 30's to the north. 43, 3 degrees above normal tomorrow. not as cold, partly sunny, high pressure to the south. the warm front slides through friday with high clouds. up to 50 degrees on friday. 10 degrees above average while a new area of low pressure to the south skirts to our south and hits us with a little bit of light rain friday night into saturday morning, about a quarter to a half inch. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, 43 tomorrow and even milder on friday. and we stay at 50 on saturday with the morning rain. it looks to be rain even up in the poconos in go-around with afternoon sunshine returning. and another arctic front moves in late sunday afternoon in the evening, maybe a round of snow showers.
