was down to the south now, it has pushed back up, this is air that is in the 20s right now, down to the south of us, it's air mass showing temperatures in the 30s and 40s and it's actually this quality of air that is on its way in for the next couple of hours, the southerly wind component is making a difference and pushing the colder air to the north, clouds in and out of the picture this morning, and a burst of sunshine for an hour there, a few high clouds digging in and sunshine is getting through and the farther south you go in extreme south jersey the more you see now. and temperatures are better, yesterday we stopped with high temperatures in the low 30s already at noon we are at 38 in philadelphia and you don't have to go too far down the pike to get into the 40s as close by as wilmington we are at 41 and 42 in millville and this is on the way up. yesterday we had the strong cold biting wind giving us single digits in the morning and teens

alleged drunk driver, it happened at west moreland streegts in east kensington last night. the officer's unmarked car was struck by another vehicle that ran a red light and police determined the driver was under the influence and had an expired license, both injured officers were taken to the hospital but expected to be on. police are trying to identify two men suspected in a robbery. the suspects approached a woman and snatched her purse off her shoulder and the 51 victim was not hurt and seen running east on locust street. former philadelphia police commissioner charles ramsey is taking on another assignment. he is going to drexel university as the distinguished fellow, working with criminology and justice department. he began working as a consultant

meteorologist, david murphy is back now way look at the forecast and what a difference a day makes, not as raw and as uncomfortable as a day makes, we are precipitation free as you watch during the morning broadcast we had light fast moving showers but they didn't really put down anything. rittenhouse square is looking nice and bright earlier this morning and folks not really hunching their shoulders as much and not putting on as much gear.

temperatures 38 degrees, i would recommend a coat outside, not that there isn't any wind, winds out of the southwest at 11 miles per hour and gusts in the 30 miles per hour range and colder temperatures and it felt a lot worse, 38 in the city and 41 in wilmington and 35 in allentown and 34 in reading, 42 in millville and the shore and places like atlantic city and cape may, a couple of layers are not bad, and oh what a difference a day makes, like rick said. the cloud cover broke up quickly and a few more clouds are trying to roll in again across the region but they are high and thin enough we still get sunshine through. allentown clouds and sun and not as bitter yesterday but more comfortable than yesterday. 31 is your high at the shore and milder than yesterday with less wind. and in philadelphia, a high of 43, a mix of clouds and sun and

mfrp milder and winds from the west at 8 to 16 miles per hour, not quite as strong as what we had yesterday, overnight partly cloudy and light winds and 33 is the overnight low and that is above average, even though that is a cold overnight low, tonight won't feel as bad and early tomorrow morning is not as bad either, we are continuing to see the winds drop overnight. the evening commute comes at us and partly cloudy skies and chilly and 38 by 5:30, and even the 7:00 temperature of 36 is better than yesterday's high, so milder air definitely on the way in. tomorrow we have a warm front getting past us that ushers in a more pronounced southerly flow and we get a high of 50 a full 10 degrees above average, and we are on the lookout for low pressure from the south, and that brings us a quarter to half inch of rain. future tracker 6 by 9:30 has

look outside, we are looking at bright blue skies, earlier this morning in rittenhouse square and a few more clouds streaking through and it's bright out there, we won't be worse than partly sunny skies for the rest of the way, it is better today in a couple of ways, it's milder and not as much as biting wind and we have the rain on the way and while show you that in a moment. 38 is your current temperature well above yesterday where we only topped out in the low 30s, today only around mid-day 38 and we'll add a few degrees to that. the winds are out of the south, 11 miles per hour. satellite shows you as we started with clouds, it cleared out in philadelphia, and now a clouds and sun mix and the farm you go into delaware and south jersey, the better chance of seeing the bright, blue sky,

high temperatures today are all going to improve over yesterday, still in the 30s in allentown and reading in the afternoon, and better and 40 in lancaster and 43 in philadelphia and wilmington and the farther south you go the better chance of adding a few more degrees to your thermometer, cape may we'll get up to 46, as we go through the rest of the afternoon and evening, 38 by 5:00 and 36 by 7:00 and then temperatures stall at night and a low of 33 and close to that around midnight and we just kind of sit there until midnight and the southerly slow holds the temperatures stead and tomorrow afternoon with the warm front passing us we get to 50. and we are on the lookout for this area of low pressure that will come in late friday night into saturday morning with a quarter inch to inch of rain and the latest run shows this getting up through parts of south jersey and delaware and 10:00 or so in philadelphia, and

saturday morning, 7:30 the latest run shows this breaking apart and somewhere between 9:00 and noon most of us will dry out and we'll see late day sunshine, 43 and not as harsh this afternoon and better temperatures and less wind, tomorrow a high of 50 and more clouds building in during the day and it won't start raining until later that night. if you have plans for beginner and a movie and rick says bring an umbrella because it might be wet. the rainy start giving way to sunshine in the afternoon and another mild high of 48 and then back to reality, brisk and chilly and high of 48, on sunday and brisk too, feeling like it's in the 20s and 30s, and on monday 33 is all we will see for martin luther king day, and brisk and colder with the windchills in the teens and 20s, bundle up if you plan to head out and volunteer as thousands do in the delaware valley every
