will be the coach, on the side line. the it appears that the doug pederson era is about to begin. thursday night, the big story on "action news" tonight is the anti chip, it is hard to imagine someone whose personality and demeanor are any different, any more different from chip kelly than doug pederson. indications are he is up next. sports director ducis rodgers is here with all of the details. >> yes, he is more andy reid then he is chip kelly. eagles informed us earlier this evening that their coaching search is done. no more interviews are scheduled. also tonight sources tell "action news" that pederson has begun reaching out to coaches across the country as he tries to assemble a coaching staff. peterson met with jeffery laurie on sunday in kansas city. pederson says that interview went well. eagles are precluded from a announcing his hire until pederson's team season is over. chiefs will face new england on saturday. if kansas city loses an

announcement could come as early as sunday. pederson had three years experience as an offensive coordinator but no experience as a head coach. he is a former eagles quarterback. he was also an assistant with the eagles under andy reid including being a quarterbacks coach, coach reid speaks very highly of him. i spoke with former eagles quarterback donovan mcnabb about pederson. they were teammates. we will share that with you later in sports. >> thanks, dues is. so what are the the fans saying about peterson. following allah and pledged his allegiance to the islamic state. comby said today there does than the seem to be a wider threat. >> so far we see no indication that he was part of an organized cell of any sort and no indication that there is any follow on plot connected to that, any specific or credible threat of violence beyond this connected to that attack. but we never take our eye off the ball. we have a lot of work to do to understand it better. >> the shooting of officer jesse hartnett has sent shock waves through the west philadelphia community where it happened. dann. a blazing gun battle played out inside of a tattoo parlor tonight in the strawberry mansion section of philadelphia. police say that one men entered the parlor just before 8:00, in the 1900 block have of north 31st street. one pulled a gun and announced a robbery. an employee pulled out his gun and the two exchanged at least half dozen shots. a customer was wounded in the leg. the suspects fled on foot, they remain at large. it a appears that careless smoking led to the fire that killed a seven five-year old woman in trenton this afternoon. police broke auto owe blaze broke out on the sixth floor of the luther arms building of 323 south broad street. officials say the woman apparently fell asleep with the lit cigarette. seven people were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. chopper six was over another fire tonight, in south philadelphia. the fortunately, no one was hurt here. this was the the scene on the 1300 block of south capitol street after 9:00 o'clock. you can see fire fighters

battling from the rooftop, of a two story home. authorities say that the building was boarded up, and we do not know yet what sparked the blaze. philadelphia police pulled a 35 year-old man from the delaware river, just an hour and a half ago. the victim is believed to be the construction work shore fell in this evening, from pier 78, along the 2,000 block of columbus boulevard. he was rushed to hahnemann university hospital. former philadelphia police commissioner charles ramsey is filling up his post retirement dock it. word today that he will be the first distinguished visiting fellow of the lindhy institute at drexel university. he will focus on urban revitalization and also will work with the university's criminology department. this was the scene in october 1996 when philadelphia police found a body of 17 year-old angela maldonado in kensington. she had been strangled, raped,

pederson is the guy. it will be fascinate to go see how he assembled the staff and what about sam bradford. >> he need him as a quarterback and offensive line help as well. eagles have concluded their search for a new head coach. no more interviews are scheduled. chiefs offensive coordinator doug pederson is believed to be their man. pederson has begun to reach out to coaches across the country to be a part of his staff here. nfl rules prevent a team from hiring other teams assistant coaches until that team is done playing. eagles cannot announce anything until the chiefs are done. chiefs are in the playoffs right now. pederson is a former eagles quarterback. he was an assistant coach here for four seasons under andy reid. i spoke to former eagles quarterback donovan mcnabb tonight. he is happy for his former teammate but he knows peterson has some work to do.
