hospitalize. the next coach of the philadelphia eagles we are anxiously awaiting to hear from the man whole begin a new era for the birds. arctic blast, get ready for the temperatures to plummet. chris sowers is here with a look at the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. it's going to be cold. >> reporter: the big story will be the arctic express that arrives overnight tonight and sets up the coldest air mass of the season so far monday into tuesday. in the meantime, we get you outside and look over the shore there. we see cape may. it's nice and quiet. we see clouds increase and we'll see snow showers developing, as well. double scan live you can see the moisture approaching from the south. there is another coastal storm that developed around the peninsula of florida. that's like the tallahassee area. that will continue to pull to the north even work off the coast of the carolinas. the heaviest moisture will work

out to sea. some of this will push farther to the north an get into philadelphia, millville and cape may and delaware, as well. there could be a slushy accumulation in cumberland, cape may and atlantic counties, maybe just a coating that would be about it. temperatures will be above freezing so we're not worried about any slick spots out there, just a little bit of light snow flying for some of us. 37 degrees by 10:00 a.m. lunchtime, 38. 2:00 p.m., 389. back down to 36 forecasting a high of 40 degrees. here's the colder changes waiting in the wings. we'll talk about how cold it will get around here in the seven-day forecast and the potential for coastal storm by week's end. we're following breaking news this morning, two employees have been shot at a north philadelphia homeless shelter, one of them has died. it happened on the 2600 block of broad street at 6:00 a.m. police say they were called to the station house transitional

shelter after two employees were shot. they say a man who was kicked out of the short two nights ago returned to pick up his belongings and got into an argument with an employee. a suspect pulled out a gun and fired. one employee has died. one is in stable condition. we'll have a live report at 10:00 a.m. 9:02 from our delaware newsroom, 6 people, five children are being treated for carbon monoxide poisoning it happened in bear last night. when fire crews arrived they found elevated levels of carbon monoxide in the building. all six people were taken to christiana hospital for treatment. investigators are looking at whether a portable generator used without electricity is responsible. police are investigating a stabbing that left a man in critical condition. it happened on the unit block of reid avenue in wilmington last

night. police used k-9 units to search for a suspect, but no arrests have been made. philadelphia police arrested a man wanted in a thanksgiving day murder, but the search continues for another suspect. word of the arrest came a day after the vigil was held for the victim ryan kelly. jeff chirico has the details. we have him off the street so he won't do this to another family. >> reporter: news of the capture of ryan kelly's alleged killer brought family and friends together to celebrate. with heavy hearts and ryan's name on their chest they remembered the 21-year-old who always had a smile. he was a positive person. ryan was a wonderful boy, he was kind hearted. he would do anything for you. >> reporter: kelly was robbed and gunned down just a block from the home he shared with his parents in port richmond. police are looking for these two men seen in a surveillance image at a td bank where they tried to

use a stolen atm calendar. it was a robbery gone bad. though didn't get nothing off him and shot him in cold blood. >> reporter: the arrest comes after the vigil to remember kelly. while his father said he is pleased one suspect was caught, he won't rest until the other is behind bars. they know his name. he might as well turn himself in because they will get him. >> reporter: again, police arrested david ramos junior he is facing murder and robbery and other related charges. jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." this morning a family is homeless after an overnight fire on the 4600 block of g street in juniata park section. nobody was hurt, but a family of five is out of a home. the red cross is helping the family with a temporary place to live. this weekend firefighters in delaware county battling a fire inside an apartment

building. this happened saturday morning at the foxcroft terrace apartment in yeadon. ten families were force to do leave their homes because of this. when firefighters arrived at the scene they found flames coming from the third floor apartment. crews got to the scene just in time to rescue a woman from her unit. she was covered in pitch black smoke and in the fetal position as if she was asleep. investigators say the fire started in the kitchen of the woman's apartment. there's information in the case of animal cruelty in bucks county. bucks county spca is offering two thousand dollars for the arrest and conviction of the person who shot a cat with a nail gun. it happened on january 3 in doylestown. there's been an outpouring of support for the cat from around the company. the feline was found with nails in his head cheek and hip.

sadly the injuries were so bad the cat had to be euthanized. former district attorney bruce castor has been called as a defense witness for a hearing next month. he stated that cosby's deposition in a civil case would never be used him. the current d.a. said he is unaware of any signed immunitity agreement. resolution has council has concluded that the mayor is no longer an effective leader and no longer carry out the duties of his office. this comes in the wake of the fbi probe of government contracting in allentown. three city leaders pleaded

guilty to federal climbs. the mayor has not commented about the resolution, he has not been charged and denies any wrong doing. a new report is recommending spending consults for cash-strapped atlantic city. they recommend consolidating and private government functions. saving lives initiative that was unveiled five months ago, evesham township free designated driver program provides a ride home from any of the businesses that serve alcohol. officials say the program has far exceeded expectations with nearly 1,000 people being driven home since december. the program has extended to june. 9:07. tomorrow, the nation will over martin luther king junior day

10:00 a.m., sunday, january 17. i'm nydia han along with gray hall. in the news, breaking news, gunfire rings out at a philadelphia homeless shelter. we'll have the latest in a live report. the next coach of the philadelphia eagles we are anxiously awaiting to hear from the man whole begin a new era for the birds. arctic blast, meteorologist chris sowers is at the big board with all the details. >> reporter: hey nydia, we have snow showers off to the southwest. we're zoomed into the atlantic states there's richmond and baltimore right there. we had a coastal storm develop overnight this will work out to sea. this right in through here is

not actually coming up, it is heading out like that. south jersey and delaware will see a few flakes. cloudy and colder today. yesterday's high, 54. today if we're lucky 40 degrees, windchills in the mid 30s. this sits over top us of monday and tuesday, this is the upper level low pressure system. this is very cold. similar to the polar vortex, although it is not the polar vortex. it will sit over the northeast and the great lakes. it will provide windchills from zero to ten degrees above in the next 48 hours. i have to use common sense if you're outdoors monday and tuesday, bitter cold windchills dress in layers that will trap the body heat and wear the hat and gloves. all the extremities make sure they are covered if you're outside for any extended periods

of time. we have improvement in the forecast, but we have a coastal storm by week's end guys? big story on "action news," breaking news, two employees from a north philadelphia homeless shelter were shot this morning, one has died. . the suspect was allegedly a man who was just kicked out of the facility. trish hartman joins us live on the scene along broad street with the latest on the this one. trish what are you learning about this? >> reporter: good morning, gray, we are right in front of the entrance to the shelter crime scene unit is here along the medical examiner. police tell us both victims in the shootings are shelter employees, one pronounced dead and the other taken to temple university hospital and is expected to survive. it happened at the station house transition shelter in the 2600 block of north broad street. let's look at video from earlier this morning. police tell us the shooter was

evicted from the shelter when he was intoxicated. officers say when he returned to get his belongings an argument broke out between the suspect and the employees. he pulled out a gun and shot two employees and ran. we spoke to several witnesses who stay at the shelter they say they heard the gunshots at the entrance of the shelter at 6:00 a.m. i heard shots and i seen a fella come running out of the building he ran through, i ran, he ran on the railroad tracks. i was just standing there i didn't know what was going on. i don't know nothing. i didn't know what it was, i thought it was like metal pounding. everybody else was running i was just standing there. a guy just run by me.

>> reporter: now station house provides shelter for low income and homeless. the shelter is run by former philadelphia mayor wilson good. he has been here this morning meeting with others. he is very upset. police are still looking for the shooter, but they say they know who they are looking for, if you have any information contact philadelphia police. live in north philadelphia, trish hartman channel 6 "action news." thank you, that's a story we'll continue to follow. 10:04. 6 people, five children being treated after a carbon monoxide poisoning. this happened on the 100 block of flamingo drive in bear last night. when fire crews arrived on the scene they found elevated levels of carbon monoxide in the buildings. investigators are looking at whether a portable generator used in the unit without electricity is responsible. police from delaware are

investigating a stabbing that left a man in critical condition on the unit block of reid avenue in wilmington. police used k-9 units to search for the suspect, but so far no arrests have been made. philadelphia police have arrested a man wanted in a thanksgiving day murder. the search continues this morning for another suspect. now, word of the arrest came one day after a vigil was held for the victim ryan kelly. "action news" reporter jeff chirico has the details. relief getting him off the street. >> reporter: news of the capture of ryan kelly's alleged killer brought his family and friends together to celebrate with heavy hearts and ryan's name on their chest they remembered the 21-year-old who always had a smile. he was a positive person. ryan was a wonderful boy. he was kind hearted. he would do anything for you. he wouldn't hurt a fly. >> reporter: kelly was robbed and gun down just a block from the home he shared with his

parents in port richmond. police are looking for the two men seen in surveillance video from a td bank where they tried to use a stolen atm card. it was a robbery gone wrong. they shot him in cold blood. >> reporter: the arrest comes hours after a vigil friday night to remember kelly. while his father is pleased, he said he won't rest until the police put the other one behind bars. they know his name, he might as well turn himself in because they will get him. >> reporter: police arrested david ramos junior he is facing murder, robbery and other related charges. at police headquarters jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." this morning a family is homeless after a fire forced them out of their house overnight. this happened on the 4600 block of g street in juniata park

section. firefighters doused the flames quickly. nobody was hurt in the fire, however a family of five is out of their home. red cross is providing the family with a temporary place to live. the reward for information in the case of animal cruelty in bucks county has doubled. bucks county spca is offering two thousand dollars for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot a cat with a nail gun. it happened on january 3 in doylestown. there has been an outpouring for the cat from around the country. the feline was found with nails in its head and cheek and hip. the injuries were so bad, the cat had to be euthanized. bruce castor may have to testify about the promises he made to bill cosby. an e-mail back in 2005 states that cosby's deposition in a civil case would never be used against him.

cosby has been charged with sexually assaulting andrea constand. the current d.a. said he is unaware of an immunity agreement. resolution from allentown council has concluded that the mayor is no longer an effective leader and can no longer carry out the duties of his office. it stems from an fbi probe of government cracking in allentown. three -- contracting in allentown. the mayor denies any wrong doing. a new report is recommending spending cuts not bankruptcy for cash-strapped atlantic city. the city's emergency manager recommends consolidating government functions. the report stopped short of the key goals of a state takeover bill. the mayor is reviewing the report. tomorrow the nation ovaries

being questioned in belize over the murder of a chicago news woman anne swaney. the body of the producer was found in the river. she was strangled. she was on vacation in the area. she was tow take part in a -- she was to take part in a horseback riding event, but stayed hind when the group was short a horse. the search continues for a man who was seen skiing at the sugar bowl. he was not reported missing until friday when his friends reported him missing. two people are dead and four children were hurt when a possible tornado ripped through

potential of a coastal storm. there is a good chance it's rain, snow or the system works out to sea. the fact it's a southern storm and moisture loaded is the reason we have to watch it. thank you. wedding bells are ringing for a homeless couple in florida all thanks to the kindness of strangers. this couple could not afford the 93-dollar marriage filing fee. after their story was posted in the paper. they got an offer for a dream weather worth $20,000. a facility has been opened up to the couple free of charge. they have a place to say i do and wedding cake. others have come forward to complete the wedding day. she said she was once in their shoes and believes everybody deserves a chance to turn things around. give them hope. you can come back from anything. everything everybody deserves to have a great life.
