valley. the it came down this afternoon creating wintry photo opportunities, and the the snow accumulated in some spots but no major issues reported but still this was all just a prelude of is what shaping up to be a cold kick off to the week ahead. meteorologist cecily tynan in for melissa tonight and she joins us live with the first check of the accu weather forecast, hi cyst will. >> hi walter. it will be a wintry week. we add snow showers off the coast of the carolinas. storm scan live showing bulk of it has moved off but we have some light snow, falling really right along the garden state parkway from atlantic city to sea side heights. thinks all pushing to the east. it didn't bring a lot of snow, but the first real taste of snow in parts of the south jersey. sicklerville reporting an inch of snow. vineland, mount holly a half inch. delaware, newark, reporting a third of an inch. montgomery county gilbertsville, also a third of an inch of snow. right now temperatures hovering around freezing, but that is going to change. the next system that is moving

through is coming through tonight, and that is an arctic front and behind it, look the at these wind chills, the wind chill in chicago makes it feel like, 18 degrees below zero. that air mass is heading our way, overnight, and it will be sticking here for the the next two days. so tonight, once that front moves through it could bring a few snow showers but we will hear the wind's how long. we are looking at wind gusts up to around 40 miles an hour. temperatures dropping down into the the 20's. and staying there all day long tomorrow, and any surfaces that are not blown dry tonight we could be dealing with some black ice. we do want to be careful tomorrow morning. tomorrow morning, single digit wind chills. in the afternoon wind chills only in the teens. then later in the week i'm tracking possibility of a major east coast storm we will have details on that with the full accu weather seven day forecast. >> happy snowers and ski borders as well. >> exactly. >> thanks, cecily. today's snow was welcome for some, it has been a snow free winter around this area

"action news" reporter trish hartman has details. >> reporter: employees, family members and residents gathered at the station house transitional shelter on north broad street, shocked at the violence that had just taken place there. >> i saw him laying down and i saw him laying there with the sheets overtop of him and i knew it was him. >> reporter: police say a man's vick from the shelter friday night when he was intoxicated came back around 6:00 a.m. sunday. he got in the argument with than a employee, and that is when police say the the suspect opened fire, shooting one man and then, one in the head, killing him. the another employee a 26 year-old man was shot in the hip and was taken to temple

4600 block of g street in juniata park. crews quickly gained the upper hand but man, woman, two young boys and a girl have to find another place to stay. nobody was injured. no word tonight on how the whole thing started. special observance on doctor martin luther king junior's birthday took place at the a church in germantown with a very special guest. reverend doctor willis johnson, senior pastor of well spring methodist church in ferguson, missouri spoke to the congregation at first united methodist church this morning. doctor johnson played a key role in the community response in the shooting death of michael brown, who was killed by a police officer. the church of saint mary in cherry hill launched a week of prayer. clergy members from all across jersey attended today's service to kick off the event. organizers say the the celebration is a way to express, and experience, the christian faith in different ways. after today's gathering the the religious leaders joined a group of homeless men to share a meal and fellowship. this was a proud day for 104 students at arcadia

two people died and five more were injured when at least two tornadoes hit near sarasota, florida earlier today. authorities say victims were inside a mobile home torn apart by one twister right around 3:45 this morning. a second twister hit near beach town of fiesta key. tampa sky way bridge was closed twice today due to high wind from the storms. cecily tynan has a check of the accu weather forecast. is that weird, tornadoes in january. >> it is unusual but this is an el nino year. we will see things happening. >> we are saying it means you have a big clash of air masses. actually, that was part of the same system that brought snow to our region, coastal storm off of the coast of carolinas. that is moving out. we have another system moving in. storm tracker six live double

scan showing that we still have some snow showers, hang ago long the new jersey coast but they are moving out. they have now crossed the garden state parkway and they should be off the coast in the next ten or 15 minutes. and a dusting of snow was brought. highest snow total an inch but enough for a lot of this, marky's mommy, three-year old, millville, sent this to me on my facebook page. enough snow that the little ones got out, built a snow man. we have a potential for more snow later in the week but between the two systems we have a lot of cold air on the way. right now, not that bad, just yet. 32 degrees in philadelphia. allen town 30. the trenton 30. millville 31. i was skiing in the poconos today. 25 degrees. little bit of the chill in the air. a big chillies on the the way with an arctic front. a satellite six along with action radar showing moisture from that coastal storm moving out of here but now if you look to the west you can see that line of snow showers. that is an arctic front and that will unleash some bitter cold air.

so tonight a few more snow showers with that front, but really the big impact will be the wind. after midnight we will hear the the wind how long up to about 40 miles per hour. the the the gusts. so any roads that are not blown dry, could be some patchy black ice. be careful overnight and tomorrow morning. 18 degrees in the suburbs. twenty-five for center city. and for tomorrow, temperatures are really going no where. that low pressure that coastal low moves away. that arctic front moves through. so this really spills down, wind straight from canada we are looking at wind gusts throughout the day up to about 35 miles per hour, and in addition to that, it is going to be very cold. afternoon highs, well below freezing. philadelphia, about 28 degrees. allentown expect a high of 25. trenton 27. millville 27. cape may 28. partly sunny skies, but throw out those numbers, and look at the wind chills. tomorrow morning, 7:30, 8 degrees in philadelphia. it will feel like two in reading. three below in the poconos if
