4:02 pm
east coast snow storm, but there are a lot of unknowns still. does that storm hug the coast, a stronger storm that means mixing along the shore, but will it be farther to the east, but a weaker storm, the strength and movement is really key, that storm ace tim really bombs out and intensifies quickly and is slow and could stall than means hours and hours of snow. a weaker storm more progressive and faster, with lower snow amounts, something to consider, a warm ocean how much of that warmth is pulled inland, and mixing moving towards the i-95 corridor and where is the location of snow, and the euro model one of the most reliable, that means the heaviest snow is over virginia, that is just one model, these are what we are looking at, heavy snow threat

the two of these collide as they move across the country into the deep south, and develop another storm, in the eastern part of texas, that doesn't happen until 4:00, showing a little bit of precipitation, breaking out from memphis to texas to wichita, then as it moves across theteen valley it spreads the snow to the north and east and transfers to the coast to develop that nor'easter, and this is noon on friday, the band of snow is just to the south and west of washington, and the snow not expected to arrive here, after the kids are home on friday, and sometime in the evening rush on friday. if you look at the four day at 4:00, increasing clouds as a weak piece of energy rolls by and 36 and beautiful, and mostly sunny on thursday and friday and saturday is the days to watch for this nor'easter, as we look at friday afternoon and evening snow breaking out again it looks

now that the energy entered the united states. it can spit something out better that will come late tonight. as we look at double scan live radar all is quiet and just very cold today, today much like yesterday and we'll turn the corner tomorrow to bring the windchills back into at least the 20s. right now 15 and allentown and trenton 16 and 12 in wilmington and teens even at the shore. satellite 6 along with action radar it's quiet at the east coast and a system in the nation's heartland and that will come to the east and clouds thicken up tomorrow and any moisture will fall apart as it moves into this bone dry, arctic air. tonight clear and cold and winnie and the winds remain gusty out of the northeast direction and the air temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees feel more like the single digits through much of the overnight hours, especially north and west

of the philadelphia, and then tomorrow we start with sun and the clouds thicken up in the afternoon and it feels a whole lot better than the last two days but windchills will also be in the upper 20s, as we track the energy across the country we are looking at 20,000 feet in the atmosphere, you forecast and you can't just look at where we live and work and play, we have to look 20,000 feet up as well. here is the energy pushing into the pacific northwest, that tracks and pushes down to the south into texas and grabbing moisture in the gulf of mexico and you can see how we don't have a complete circulation yet of this energy, the ball of red, once it reaches the east coast, it cuts itself off and becomes a large entity of energy and wraps around and they develop a nor'easter off the coast, this is 6:00 saturday morning, when that happens, the question
4:52 pm
becomes exactly where does the energy track and transfer that energy to develop the nor'easter, the track at this point, highly uncertain, if it's certain and hugs the coast the heavier snow is north and west of the i-95, a snow to a mix of rain to the southeast, if it's weaker and offshore, the heaviest snow would be south and east of the philadelphia and a sharp cutoff to the north and west where some areas in the viewing area could get little snow, if we are taking all the information as of today right now and this storm was to come tonight and tomorrow, we are looking at philadelphia specific, looking at a moderate 6 to 12 inches a 40% chance, that is the highest chance right now, not far behind that, 12 to 18 inches but a light amount and crippling amount more than 2 feet of snow very small chance at this point that that storm is
