inforeign oh. but the big story, there is no getting around it. snow is coming. the plows are getting ready in claymont, delaware. and this was the calm before the storm at the acme in willingboro. come tomorrow grocery stores in the area will likely be bedlam, as people stock up for what should be a big storm. adam joseph, cecily tynan are on the storm beat tonight, lets start with cecily. >> this is a high impact storm, look at the watches and warnings, they stretch all the way west of memphis to north jersey, that is 900 miles and here we have the winter storm watches in effect friday night through sunday morning and i do want to take note here that a blizzard watch is posted for the baltimore and d.c. area and at the height of the storm, i think we'll have blizzard conditions

with high winds and blowing and drifting snow. double scan live radar showing a touch of snow to the west and south, that is not the storm, that is a little bit of a disturbance moving through tonight and could bring us a few snow showers, not a big deal. the actual storm itself is out to the west, and it doesn't look very impress he. we have a surface lowest of denver but they will congeal and come together and strengthen and form the nor'easter than is what will make a mess of the first half of the weekend. that being said friday should be fine, kids can get home from school and work during the evening on friday, the snow is arriving from the south to the north, late friday night, philadelphia between 9:00 and 11:00. the height of the storm is on saturday and inland wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour and the storm starting later it's ending later and the storm is winding

to a rapidly deepening storm off the carolinas that becomes it's nor'easter and the ocean is so warm the weather deepens and spreads it to the north despite the core of the storm is way to the south. another thing we have to watch is coastal flooding, winds over 60 miles per hour likely at the height of the storm in southern areas, and who will see the most snow as of right now. it's places like roanoke and washington, d.c., that is the jackpot of over two feet but we'll see a healthy amount around here and cecily tynan will have the first call map expected amounts in accuweather. >> thank you. lets go live to chad pradelli in havertown tonight, chad how are suburban communities particularly in delaware county getting ready for the first big storm of the winter. >> reporter: they are doing what they usually do, having their salt supply and checking their equipment and repaired if need

continues into the cause of the fire and even if there was one fire or two. lets return to 21st and locust streets and "action news" reporter, john rawlins. >> hi jim, a concern over a possible collapse over much of what happened today. people are not allowed back in their homes and it was thought that it was not a smart idea to have the fire investigators in the building and then lni would order a partial demolition of the upper area of the building. this morning the frozen aftermath outside of 2122 locust street. after a few quick forays inside it was decide that firefighters would stay outside because of the risk of collapse. the roof had caved in. >> the roof is in dangerous condition and there is no reason for those folks to risk their

lives until we remove the loose masonry. >> once investigators return there will be a sec structural evaluation, due in part to the current forecast. >> with the snow coming this weekend we want to be extra cautious with this building because of the additional weight of the snow to the structure. >> there was heavy fire reported in the basement and the top of the building. >> in these older buildings a fire could start in the basement and spread through the walls to the fourth floor. we don't know if there was two fires or if it spread to the roof. >> we don't know if they can retrieve anything from their apartments. they're maybes out of their homes for now and a rescue volunteer was allowed into the building and allowed to reyou fight a cat named ajax to his people. >> it doesn't look like it what

stands accused of scamming homeowners in drexel hill and that he posed as a contractor and collected $152,000 for a project he never started. >> i appreciate everything that the township and the district attorneys office has done. it's very much an emotional roller coaster. >> police say that cotrell installed his own contact information on the website of a real contractor when he received inquiries, he went to potential customers homes and claimed he was an executive with the company. and sources tell "action news" that the investigation includes 30 complaintses. atlantic city mayor feels he feels like he was knifed in the back by the state of new jersey. don guardian made the comments in response to chris christie's decision to veto an aid package for the city and now bankruptcy

police in philadelphia and new york are investigating a possible threat against both departments, tips called in by telephone. sara bloomquist is live what are the detailed here? >> reporter: jim that is right, philadelphia police and the nypd are on high alert after an anonymous call came into both departments yesterday, the caller named a man from the bronx saying he was a sympathizer of isis and now they are questioning the alleged sympathizer to see if the threats are real. it was nearly two weeks ago when a man opened fire on

philadelphia police officer, jessie hartnett, and he later told police he was pledge allegiance to isis and now police are on high alert again after an anonymous caller called in a threat naming a man from the bronx calling him an isis sympathizer who cans to kill police in both cities. >> the phone call to new york and the city, we are taking it serious based on what happened in philadelphia two weeks ago. >> as a precaution a safety precaution went out to officers in new york and philadelphia. >> we want our officers to be alert about what is going on around the country and this was directed to our department as well as new york we want them to be on stand by. >> the nypd made it clear they just want to talk to the man named. >> this is something in
