it is start of the new era with decisions to be made in trenton, not atlantic city, city hall. tuesday night, and the big story on "action news" tonight will see the state of new jersey take vast control over atlantic city's finances. some officials say that this is not a state take over but if it is not, others are having trouble figuring out what to call it. "action news" reporter dann cuellar is live in atlantic city, city hall tonight, dann? >> reporter: well, jim, it seems that everyone on city council and mayor were against a hostile take over of atlantic city by the state. leaders here are saying that bill is now null and void and that instead the governor is proposing a similar deal craft todd save the city of camden. it was a standing room only crowd at city hall for an emergency meeting in which city council was to discuss the city filing for bankruptcy. but those discussion where is put on hold after governor christie proposed a

task of plowing the rest of philadelphia's streets. the "action news" reporter chad pradelli is live in somerdale tonight. hello, chad. >> reporter: hi, jim. we are on westford road off of ashdale and this road still has in the been plowed. take a look, you can see it is snow pack. it has been packed down. it is extremely icy. we drove down it, it is slick. you cannot get through this road but drivers have had a difficult time tonight. we have been throughout the city tonight and mess roads have been cleared, as the the city just continues its clean up efforts. the bobcats navigated narrow side streets in south philadelphia tonight. the city says more than 80 percent of the city streets are new plowed, mess of the the remaining require smaller bobcats to maneuver. here on the 2300 block of south percy though, residents continue to wait. >> angry at this point, frustrated.

presidential candidate christie had some not very kind word to say about mayor patrick rosenello calling him crazy for saying they had worst flooding there then sandy. the christie was defending himself for not rushing to south jersey when that part of the state suffered serious flooding last saturday. but today christie a apologized. >> he was very gracious in accepting it and we have worked together, we will continue to work together and we will move on from here. >> yet the the mayor accepted the apology. >> governor christie graciously called me after 9:00 this morning. he did apologize for some of the personal comments he made about me last evening. >> meanwhile residents hit hard by flooding are trying to salvage what they can and must look ahead to significant home repair. "action news" was in west wildwood today as u.s. senator corry booker and congressman frank lobiondo tored serious damage. the small community was inundated with water when bulkhead at end of the glenwood avenue failed during

the blizzard. lawmakers said they would look for financial help, but that booker, i would rather under promise and over deliver. amtrak says it will be completely back on track along the northeast corridor starting tomorrow. amtrak will restore full schedules for the acela express, northeast regional and other trains between boston and washington which, of course, includes trenton, wilmington and 30th street station in philadelphia. then there is a story of the wilmington woman desperate to ger house her husband to the weekly dialysis appointment but still snowed in. that is when a neighbor stepped up to save the day. a kidney. her snow street at jefferson had not seen a plow period. for a second day in the row dart bus could not get to joseph. the couple grew desperate, even after sheila called the city's e ms and national guard. >> i was telling my wife, i'm okay. i will just go back in and lay down. and just take my chances. >> i looked up at theo and i saw a light on over there. i said, you know, it is 5:00 something in the morning. i cannot wake him up. out of desperation because it has been two days he hasn't had any treatment. >> you didn't hesitate a second. >> difficult not. >> reporter: council president lifted joe's neff to his truck and got him to treatment. >> my neighbor, it is what you are supposed to do as a human being and as a person. >> i am very grateful to my neighbor because he didn't have to do that. >> reporter: on wednesday, he has to go to dialysis.

>> he has to go back tomorrow. >> reporter: do you think he will be able to get back out. >> i think that they can try to attempt to come through. if they don't i will just take my chances again. >> reporter: drive him yourself. >> drive him myself. >> reporter: we are told city is sending plow trucks to clear neighborhood street sometime later this evening. meanwhile resident are left, stuck, doing the city's job for now. in wilmington, christie lleto for channel six "action news". philadelphia congressman chaka fattah got a scolding from a federal why today. fattah was back in federal court, where his four lawyers asked to be excused from fattah's fraud and racketeering trial because they have not been paid. the judge told fattah that he needs to rethink his priorities, after fattah says he was more concerned about raising money for his reelection campaign then for his trial. there are no reports of any injuries in the wake of the stubborn fire in morrisville bucks county. fire fighters had to battle the cold and piles of snow, in

addition to the flames and smoke. the the blaze broke out in the two story home in the 100 block of west philadelphia avenue. there is no word yet on a cause. a garbage truck that runs on natural gas, exploded this afternoon in a mercer county neighborhood, and an "action news" viewer caught the entire thing on camera. this happened on fitsrandolph avenue in hamilton township. it started a 2:59 when a battery problem caused the truck to catch fire. workers tried to put out the flames themselves but then the natural gas ignited sending gas tank on to a nearby home. fortunately, and perhaps amazingly, nobody was hurt. still to come on "action news" tonight a debate threat from donald trump as a new poll gives him more of the lime light. breaking news just from oregon, federal authorities

oregon, federal authorities, say that they have arrested the leader of a group, that occupied a federal wild life refuge for nearly a month. at rest happened last then an hour ago. fbi a says that bundy and six of his followers were arrested following a traffic stop, they say that shots were fired shortly after the stop, and one person was killed, and it is not clear at this point who fired first. bundy's group seized the headquarters of the national

week. here's cecily tynan. >> storm tracker six live double scan showing a little bit of the break in the action. we have been seeing some showers, right now, it looks like the next batch is near gettysburg swinging through a cold front. these are rain showers in the snow showers. it could end up as a few flurries early tomorrow morning along the coast but it hasn't seemed like we have gotten a lot more big winter storms, then in decades past? well, that is exactly the case. this is a astonishing graphic. looking back in the 1980's, that decade we only had one storm that dropped more than a foot of snow. 1990's we had two. look at how it ramps up, last decade we had four. and then this decade so far, normally more than halfway through, we have already had six storms, dropping a foot or more of snow, on philadelphia a so this really is an example of how global warming can make storms more intense. that being said, we don't have any big storms on the
