a similar report on the exact same day. sara bloomquist is live now with all the details. >> reporter: rick and monica, two incidents eerily similar, one in oakland and the other in evesham township. two boys were playing in their development when they were approached by the suspects who offered them candy. in recent days police came across surveillance video from one of these homes and it appears to show the suspect vehicle. in this video surveillance, you can see two boys 10 and 11 walking along the street near peter heard way. just before 5:00 p.m. on january 16 and, this black sedan drove by with an older white male with gray hair driving and a teenage girl with blond hair also in the car. >> the driver asked them if they wanted candy. >> the boys knew something

they are rebuilding the dunes that was hit hardest and some of the boardwalk was unhinged by the powerful waves, they had to use front loaders to move the sand back to the beach. volunteers for the red paul emergency relief team reached out to their families and pets in wildwood and north wildwood today. his dog, lexie alerted him to the flooding in their home during the storm. they lost everything in the blizzard and are grateful for the help with their lee beloved dogs. >> we lost everything their food and leashes and everything. >> the red pup team brought everything for families in need. the red paw emergency relief fund's goal is to relieve some stress for families rebuilding after such a tragedy. a new initiative is helping

as we look at double scan live radar. we had a few showers earlier this morning and the sunshine went to work earlier this afternoon and looking at the action cam, the cabin fever setting in and many of the walkways are bare of snow and ice getting exercise in. if you look at the snow on either side of the snow on boathouse row. you are say that is not two feet of snow. it isn't, we lost 14 inches of snow in three days in the city of the philadelphia, thanks to the sunshine and warm temperatures. as we look at the almanac, 45 degrees, 4 degrees above the normal of 41 and the record 69, and the sunsets at close to 5:15 p.m. we dropped 6 degrees in philadelphia over the last 24 hours, near 10 degrees at the shore and numbers will go down a bit thursday and friday and we'll recover as we get into the weekend.

right now though, temperatures are above freezing area wide as we go north and west in slatington, warrington 37 and chester 39 and center city 42 degrees and to the south numbers of 39 in vineland and the state of delaware upper 30s and now that the sun has set we drop the temperatures very fast and that creates icy spots especially on the sidewalks where you get the runoff of the melting and even some area roads on the side streets. as we look at satellite and radar, off the coast and morning showers, sunshine returning and clear sky overnight tonight and much colder, 12 in the suburbs tomorrow morning, 20 degrees in center city and light wind out of the west northwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour. two systems we are watching over the great lakes, this is a weak system and low pressure off the carolinas but this one is well off the coast. tomorrow in between two systems that means sunshine and sinking

air, you have rising air and what rises must fall and 42 degrees, cooler than today. the systems converge and become a powerhouse storm but merge too late to give us any significant precipitation and even new length england missing out on this storm. could touch off a flurry or two on friday and bringing winds on friday afternoon. 40 degrees for the next couple of days, and tomorrow clouds in the afternoon and blustery with a flurry or two friday and saturday we are back up to 42 degrees and milder come sunday near 50 degrees and forget 50 we'll go above that on monday for the first day of february. could be a couple of showers, as the warm air pulls in at 52, still 50 with clouds on tuesday and mild again on wednesday with a temperature sitting at 54

"action news" delaware valley's leading news program. with ducis rogers, meteorologist cecily tynan and jim gardner. wednesday night and michael nutter takes on a teacher job and philadelphia officials say that drones could be used across the city to protect public safety. but the big story on "action news" tonight is the charge of first degree murder, lodged against a 17-year-old girl. the victim was a 13-year-old boy. identified address nathaniel plummer jr., he was killed in the city of camden almost three weeks ago.

gray hall is reporting live from camden. you reported that the defendant is detained for another shooting. how did the police connect the dots. >> reporter: you are right jim, the child has been in juvenile detention since january 9th, she turned herself in because of a shooting in 2015. and it was ballistic evidence that connected her to the 13-year-old's murder. >> a community is reacting after 13-year-old nathaniel plummer's life was taken before he had a chance to live. police say that a 13-year-old girl is responsible for his death and is now in jail. >> the suspect surrendered to police in connection to a 2015 shooting and ballistic evidence connected her to nathaniel's murder. >> i was in shock. i was sad. sad for the family. sad for both parties.
