camden. you reported that the defendant is detained for another shooting. how did the police connect the dots. >> reporter: you are right jim, the child has been in juvenile detention since january 9th, she turned herself in because of a shooting in 2015. and it was ballistic evidence that connected her to the 13-year-old's murder. >> a community is reacting after 13-year-old nathaniel plummer's life was taken before he had a chance to live. police say that a 13-year-old girl is responsible for his death and is now in jail. >> the suspect surrendered to police in connection to a 2015 shooting and ballistic evidence connected her to nathaniel's murder. >> i was in shock. i was sad. sad for the family. sad for both parties. >> this neighbor did not want to

show her face on camera but she heard the shots and called police and was disappointed that no one else came out to help. >> you see someone laying there and i didn't know if it was a boy or girl or young man or old man. and me being me, my instinct was to help them. >> a community facebook page was set up to honor nathaniel's young life. people are shocked and heart broken that the victim and suspect are only teenagers. >> it's the lack of father in their homes. because education begins at home with their parents. we encourage parents to come together. >> we went by what is believed to be the 13-year-old's home. it has parents reviewing their relationships with their kids. >> try to save them look for signs, try to before it too

surveillance video of the suspect's vehicle and they sure are hoping it helps. they are alarmed there were two incidents, one in oakland and one in evesham, in both incidences the man offered children candy. this video shows two boys 10 and 11 walking down the street in the area of peter heard way in evesham township just before 5:00 on january 16th, a black sedan pulled down the block with two people inside and a man and possibly a teenage girl. >> they stopped when they were playing in their front yard and the driver asked if they wanted candy. >> later evesham police learned of a similar incident earlier that same day in oaklyn, a man and woman in a black sedan approached three kids in that case. >> the description was a little off but the driver also asked

the juveniles if they wanted candy. parents are on edge taking precautions and monitoring information from police. >> the a good reminder -- >> have you to keep your guard up and keep your eyes open and everyone is pretty well aware of that and pretty good about that. >> your children need to run and go to a family's house or a neighbor's house and yell for help and get away from the situation. >> now, the man in the car never actually asked the kids to get in the vehicle, still investigators are treating this as an attempted luring, there is a discrepancy in the description of the passenger, the children described her as a teenage girl and in oaklyn they described the man and woman in their 60s or 70s. police in either community want to hear from you if you have any information.

i'm sara bloomquist, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. the neshaminy high school basketball coach captured on camera in a physical altercation with a referee is officially off the team. the school board voted to dismiss jerry divine of his coaching duties, divine remains as a special education teacher at the school and the district attorney filed a summary harassment charge. could drones be deployed across philadelphia in an effort to improve public safety. the answer could be yes. a study found that drones would be a useful tool in detecting dangerous buildings, city controller says it would not replace inspectors but enhance workers ability to do their jobs more quickly and efficiently.

record and now only 9 inches left on the grown and wilmington went from 16 to 4 and atlantic city more than a foot of snow fell and that all melted. the melting will continue through the week and the problem is the falling temperatures, right now 41 degrees and philadelphia and allentown 35 and trenton 39 and atlantic city airport 37 and wilmington 36 degrees, temperatures tonight across the board will be dropping below freezing and you do want to be careful driving tonight and tomorrow. there are icy patches, satellite 6 along with action radar showing why temperatures are dropping quickly we don't have much cloud cover, a little bit of cloud cover along the coast and morning clouds giving way to afternoon sunshine and when you don't have clouds to insulate the earth, any warmth from the sun absorbed from the surface during the day the overnight low 20 in philadelphia and allentown frigid, down to 12 and trenton 17 and the boardwalk in atlantic city, 24 and wilmington 18

degrees and be careful for the refreeze, the day tomorrow nice but cooler with a high of 40 degrees, this coastal low i am talking about is heading out to sea and we get a clipper heading through thursday night into friday morning. could bring a quick flurry or snow shower and the two low pressure fades, far away from us so we don't get precipitation but we get a rapidly deepening low and high pressure to the southwest. what you get is a wind tunnel effect, friday the high 39 degrees, but wind gusts of 25 to 35 miles per hour and as we head through the weekend temperatures are climbing but friday feels on the cold side. so the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast tomorrow is nice, sun with a few building clouds mainly in the afternoon not quite as mild as today with a high of 40 and friday blustery and flurries in the morning and
