frontal boundary stalled off the eastern seaboard and what is happening low pressure is forming right along it off the coast of the carolinas and this low pressure like many of the storms this winter is tracking more westerly and that is what pulls the moisture inland and at the same time the temperatures are a limiting factor you are thinking what? it's 50 degrees in philadelphia, that is why it's all rain off the coast but up north temperatures are in the 30s. that low pressure will pull down the wins from the north and that will produce colder air and that will change the rain over to snow in the overnight hours. the winter weather advisory goes into effect at 10:00 tomorrow morning, this is a quick hitting event, this is for most of our viewing area for lancaster, berks or the poconos. this is off the coast and a sharp western edge to the precipitation. really we are getting brushed with the system and the problem

is the timing. this is when we'll have the snow falling and this will effect visibility and where it snows hard enough it will stick to the roads, where it is snowing light it will just be wet. it begins as rain, we get the change over to snow. the morning rush hour is snowy and visibility is an issue and some slushy spots and it moves out in the middle of the morning tomorrow. i'll talk about what to expect behind the system coming up in the full accuweather forecast. >> we'll check back if later thank you. of course the "action news" morning team has you covered during the potential rush hour mess, david, matt and karen will be on the air at 4:00 a.m. meanwhile, in new jersey last month's blizzard was the topic of conversation today. officials from governor chris christie's office held two storm assistance workshops from

representatives from several agencies and people were edge to ask questions and get information on damage issues and cleanup. police in cumberland county are investigating a crash that left a school bus on its side. chopper 6 hd over the scene on east commerce road in fairfield township. the driver of the car that hit the school bus died at the scene. four students and an 82-year-old bus aide were taken to the hospital. we'll have more tonight on "action news" at 6:00. four teenagers are now in custody following a series of armed robberies on the schuylkill trail. they happened minutes apart on sunday night and a third less than 24 hours ago, the teenagers are only facing charges related to last night's holdup but police are trying to connect the dots. for more we turn to sara bloomquist live in spring garden

tonight. >> reporter: rick, police have charged the two 16-year-olds and two 17-year-olds in connection with last night's attack along the schuylkill river trail, this is an ongoing problem and groups of teenage boys harassing and robbing people along this popular trail. those we talked to out here today hope these arrests help to bring it to an end. >> the schuylkill river trail is a highlight of the city with runners and walkers enjoying the paths all hours of the day and night. but in recent months there is a series of attacks by teenage boys on bicycles. >> we have all seen it, groups of kids come up to you on a bike and do a wheelie in your face. >> sunday night they approached two males separately only minutes apart at 8:30 p.m. they brandished what appeared to be a weapon and demanded cell phones and cash. and last night before 9:00 the

teenagers targeted a man walking along the trail and pulled a weapon and demanded his cell phone and other items. >> when he refused to unlock the phone they assaulted him and punched him and kicked him. >> they made off with a cell phone, laptop and ipad. >> police have stepped up patrols on the trail and officers caught up with two of the suspects and took them into custody, they have the victim's belongings and a b.b. gun. people enjoying the trail were glad to hear of the arrest tired of the teens terrorizing the trail. >> especially when the kids are together it's scary. hopefully it sends a message and makes people feel safer. >> reporter: so two suspects were taken into custody last night and two surrendered today and they are all charge ready assault, robbery and related offenses. coming up on "action news" at

time now for accuweather at the "action news" big board, meteorologist cecily tynan is keeping an eye on the skies and tomorrow's commute could be interesting. >> a lot of people are going to bed tonight and nothing is happening and it's just raining and there is a fresh coating of snow on the ground and double scan live is showing now we have scattered shower activity across south jersey and cumberland county and cape may county and burlington county and all the moisture is riding up from the south and this is associated with the same system that pulled through last night. that brought us an inch of rain, it's coming back to haunt us, temperatures today show us the reason why snow is melting on the ground. the high in philadelphia was 56 degrees and trenton 55 and wildwood 61 and the poconos a record high of 51 degrees. colder air is on the way and that is what is changing that moisture, the rain over to snow in the overnight hours.

the satellite 6 along with action radar showing we have showers already as far north as new england and this stretches all the way to the gulf coast, there is plenty of moisture, and the low pressure is developing off the coast of the carolinas and that will help pull in the moisture to the west and pull down the colder air. future tracker 6 showing at 11:00 tonight and dry north and west of the i-95 corridor. rain showers to the southeast and temperatures mild in the 40s generally and as we head through the overfight night hours this is when temperatures change. it can snow with temperatures 36 because it's colder higher in the hat at&t atmosphere and you see the heavier snow in south jersey, and it's out of here by 10:00 and the sunshine is back and plenty of melting at 3:00 with temperatures in the mid-40s. so what are we talking about? this is really a nuisance event, not how much snow but the

timing, the fact that it's calling during the morning commute, the northwest suburbs, we are looking at not much a coating to an inch on grassy surfaces, a lot of this melting on the roads and south jersey and delaware and 1 to 3 inches. the sweet spot is delaware, atlantic and ocean county, could get 3 to 4 or 5 inches of snow and a lot that on the grassy surfaces, but it will cause a slushy mess for your morning commute. tomorrow morning snow and afternoon sunshine and 44 degrees. the weekend is beautiful and 47 on saturday and sunday 53, and monday colder and 52 degrees and increasing clouds and our next chance of snow on tuesday with a high of 42 degrees, we'll talk about that in the accuweather forecast.

just afternoon. a medical condition started a chain reaction crash that sent three people to the hospital this afternoon. a story we are following for the last several hours now. look at the scene just off elsmere boulevard in elsmere. the driver suffered some sort of medical emergency and lost control of the vehicle, he hit a parked car and went straight into the fence. a wilmington police officer saw the crash happen and rescued the driver. no one else was hurt. a gas leak forced the evacuation of several homes in philadelphia's west oak lane section, firefighters responded to the 2700 block at 1:00 this morning after a 4 inch main result toured. ten people had to be evacuated from their homes with while crews worked to fix the break. >> i smelled that strong smell of gas when i left my home and

it was very nerve-racking. >> residents were allowed back in at 7:30. chopper 6 was over a water main break in landsdale, a private contractor was doing work with an underground digging machine and accidentally hit the line. nobody was hurt. a new jersey coast guard crew sprang into action to save an injured fisherman and the rescue was caught on tape. this is off the coast of barnegat light ocean county yesterday. the crew lowered a basketball to pick up the 49-year-old fisherman who severely injured his hand. pennsylvania governor tom wolf came to town today to pitch his plan for education funding. mayor jim kenney and others joined him in powellton. he is calling for $200 million
