dave murphy and karen rogers. good morning. >> all right, guys, well, we are starting out fairly dry across the region. we had a little bit of very light snow overnight. there's not much on the ground most neighborhoods. a lot of you just looking at a coating to half inch so far. a hint of more coming up out of baltimore but nothing super active. last night we had in the evening hours and overnight hours a little bit of light snow that popped through. just about everybody saw some of this. it started out as rain and changed over to snow as temperatures dropped last night but again low impact stuff and anywhere where the roads were pretreated i don't think you'll find anything on those roads this morning other than just moisture. 32 degrees in philadelphia currently though and 32 in wilmington. so, if you're in and around millville up and down the i-95 corridor this afternoon points north you have temperatures below freezing which means if you had anything fall on untreated surfaces like sidewalks or side streets maybe some secondaries, yes, there could be a little bit an icy or a slick sheen on there so be careful of that.
4:02 am
generally speaking this looks like fairly low impact situation. winter weather advisory in affect across most of the region. there's a warning still in effect in delaware county chester county and back towards lancaster county. the warning that was up over most of the immediate region has been downgraded to an advisory. in most areas only going for about two to 4 inches of snow. most of the accumulation is going to be later into the afternoon and tonight. we have issues with coastal flooding. could be some moderate flooding. on the bus stop this morning we're going for cloudy skies. light snow is possible here or there but i think most of are you going to get away without a lot of that during the morning bus ride. 30 degrees by 6:00 a.m., 31 by 8:00 a.m. as we roll through the day we'll get well above freezing which means any snow that comes in during the mid to late afternoon hours probably just melts on road surfaces because temperatures should remain well above freeing. our shy 38 today. a little more snow tonight

4:05 am
they have 106 tons of salt on hand. crews expect wet snow, which for them is actually easier to move. so, that's goo good news. wednesday morning could be tougher. temperatures will drop overnight making conditions very ice z as you know it is much more difficult to navigate icy roads than snowy roads. also to help with preps the city of philadelphia will deploy its contingent of vehicles to salt and plow streets so because of that sanitation trucks were converted for that purpose and today's trash and recycling pickup is canceled. so, residents are asked to hold off until next tuesday. however, no snow emergency has been declared which means parking in philadelphia is as normal. but back here live... it is a little cold out this morning so heating up your car ahead of time is a good idea. roads look very clear right now but be careful because

4:10 am
even though temperatures have dipped a little bit below freezing in a lot of areas, anything that was pretreated almost certainly was able to handle that just fine. it would be untreated surfaces and side roads that you might have an issue on where the light snow happened to stick a little bit. as we take a look outside, we have cloudy skies this morning. it's going to be a little bit breezy as you step outside and certainly as we go a little later into the morning. right now you've got winds in the upper single digits in most of the immediate region. temperature currently is 32 degrees in philadelphia so again treated surfaces probably fine this morning. but anything that wasn't treated yesterday might be a little bit slick especially sidewalks and driveways and maybe some side streets so be careful of that but we've had very little snow overnight so not really that big of a deal. winds running at 9 miles per hour currently giving you a wind chill of 24 so bundle up. future tracker6 showing you that between now up until about 9 o'clock for the rest of the rush hour there may be a little bit more snow trying to push up from the south again. this should be on the light
