continuation of weather advisories until 6:00 a.m. areas getting snow like here in cheltenham, but not a disruptive situation in the tri-state area, with the exception of the jersey shore, and the problem is not snow but flooding and the next high tide is 8:00 and authorities are seriously concerned about that. nora muchanic is staked out in ocean city but first lets get the latest from accuweather and cecily tynan. cecily tynan is live at the big board. >> reporter: jim, it's a news ang snow event all day long with on and off snow showers melting on the grown, and stormtracker 6 live double scan showing now temperatures are dropping at or below freezing and we have a couple of rounds of heavy snow showers and one working through newcastle and chester county, and one this line we are tracking at 4:00, continues to push up to the north and east and right now it's of the

pennsylvania turnpike, right at the landsdale exit and it moves up to quakertown than is dropping a half inch to an inch of snow. so that was really reducing the visible. so right now as you drive home there is a problem with the visibilities west of philadelphia north. allentown and reading reporting 1.3 miles. so how much snow did we get. lancaster the jackpot. millersville reporting 6.1 andal verson reporting 2 inches and philadelphia a half inch of snow. not expecting much more accumulation but the key is the temperatures dropping below 32 degrees that means the wet roads will be slick by the morning rush just some flurries and i'm

tracking the coldest air mass this winter. lets go live to nora muchanic live in ocean city. nora we have seen the pictures of flooding there. how bad is it? and is it expected to get worse? >> the area i am standing right now was under water this morning when the back bays started flooding and they have receded now, and thankfully there are concerns but tonight's high tide is not expected to have the same type of flooding as today. 12th street in owes city was an island for most of the day. surrounded by flood waters that put a big cramp in business. only those with big boots could get to the store that had a foot in the store two week assing. >> we keep going, this hurts because we can't get trucks in and out for deliveries, and streets all over ocean city were

swamped and high tide brought the bay water over the bulk head and into the road. cars were splashing through water up and down the island. on bay avenue and roosevelt boulevard. the entire area was under water. >> it's unsettling because you can't leave your home, that is why i'm out early this morning so i can leave my car and go back this afternoon. >> this military surplus vehicle had no problem navigating the water and others charged right through it and others did not take the risk. >> you have to make sure you drive in the water that is too high. >> many were dressed for the flooding and this woman wanted to cross the street and paid for it. >> your feet are soaked. >> yes. >> no boots, you didn't prepare? >> they are at the house. >> it seems since sandy our highs are higher than normal. i have been here for 1 years and

i have seen highs before like this but not so consistent. >> reporter: remember it was just a couple of weeks ago that the shore was pummeled by the storm that caused serious flooding and millions in damages. today's floodwaters receded and tonight high tide is not expected to be as bad as it was this morning. live in ocean city, i'm nora muchanic, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. lets look live at route 309 in fort washington, the snow is falling right now in pennsylvania and penndot crews are out all day to treat the roads and make sure they are clear. the action cam caught a few trucks and right now roads are wet with little or no accumulation. in delaware snow did not effect drivers on route 2 in wilmington and del/dot says the roads could get icy and crews are salt if

that happens and many roads are still too warm to cause serious problems. the "action news" team will get an early start tomorrow morning and we hope you'll join us starting at 4:00 a.m. we'll be here with the latest on the forecast and traffic conditions. police in pottstown are investigating the submerging of a car if the schuylkill river with a man inside of the vehicle. chad pradelli is live on the banks of the river, what do you know about this. >> reporter: jim, the scene is cleared here, authorities towed away the vehicle and an hour ago it was found behind me, that is the schuylkill river, right there you can see the boat ramp where it appears this car was driven into the river. police released little information up to this point. here is the scene a couple of hours ago, this is the vehicle as it was found inside of river.

you can just see the top of the buick. that vehicle was spotted by a passerby at 1:00 and authorities were called and came out here and the phoenixville dive team came out and helped north coventry police to get the vehicle out of water and that is when police realized a man was inside. the lower pottsgrove police department, said the vehicle belonged to 93-year-old harold lister he suffered a head injury the day before he disappeared. it's not confirmed that the man inside is lister, but they don't expect foul play and believe that he accidentally drove down the boat ramp and that is where he was found earlier today. chad pradelli, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you chat, we are getting word about the first confirmed cases of the zika virus in pennsylvania and

delaware. late this afternoon the pennsylvania department of health say that two women that travelled to infected countries contracted the disease. the patient is a woman but pregnancy is not an issue. as with all of the cases but one in the u.s. this was contracted outside of country. zika is generally a mild illness, found in central america, south america and the caribbean but it can cause birth defects. it's primary day in the state of new hampshire, and just like iowa it appears that the turnout will reach record levels and while the spotlight is on the candidates for months today it turns to the voters. live in manchester, monica malpass. monica this is such a political drama but as far as new hampshire goes we are in the final act tonight. >> reporter: absolutely jim,

schools like this one and community centers and churches across the state hundreds of thousands of voters will cast their ballots finally, they are courted by months by the presidential candidates then re ready to make it official. throngs of voters waiting patiently at webster elementary in manchester, and 3,000 people steadily flowing in today is up to 75% of registered voters in ward three an impressive turnout. they can choose democrat or republican and they can go back to undeclared before they leave. >> they can have a party or not have a party. >> if you forget your i.d. just fill out an after david and get your peck tour taken on the spot

three people were hurt this afternoon when a ckacar smashed into the front porch of wilmington on east 11th street. and it's not clear whether the three people were injured inside of the car or on the street, or were taken to christiana hospital. and sources tell "action news" that warrants are being prepared in connection with assault investigation involving lesean mccoy at an old city nightclub. this is new video of the brawl showing mccoy and three friends in a fight with off duty philadelphia police officers. two of the officers were seriously hurt. no arrests were made after the early sunday morning incident at the recess lounge, police have

recommended criminal charges. and the district attorney has the case. and pennsylvania governor, tom wolf, presented his budget plan for next year today in harrisburg, he also spent a good deal of time focusing on the fact that the state doesn't have a budget for this year. governor wolf compared the financial situation to a ticking time bomb and proposed a $33.3 billion spending plan that would take effect in july and comes with a 2.7 billion there's tax increase and says that the increase would close a long-term deficit that has damaged pennsylvania's credit rating. >> because of years of budget irresponsibility. pennsylvania is considered to be one of the least credit worthy states in america and this is embarrassing. >> governor wolf urged the house and senate to pass the budget

so the fact is the storm underperformed as far as the immediate philadelphia area. >> for here philadelphia we got about a half inch of snow but the trough access i was talking about, really set up over lancaster and chester county, they had 5 or 6 inches of snow in the higher elevations. pretty much right there. philadelphia area southeast we didn't get much snow. >> really disappoint. >> really? i don't think you are disappointed at all. stormtracker 6 live double scan showing we have snow showers we are dealing with and whenever you see the pink color on stormtracker 6 live double scan that is a heavier burst of snow, one right now is moving into burlington county and crossing route 206 into tabernacle and one sitting of lancaster for the past half hour it's lifting up

and moving along the northeast extension now and now an area of slightly heavier snow in parts of chester county and this is beginning to shrink north of chadds ford now. this is really it. not expecting much more accumulation but today with temperature as above freezing the snowflakes are really milting into one another and they looked like cot on balls falling and marion posted this and says it looks like a snowball tree. it's a pretty sight but with temperatures dropping below freezing we have concerns about untreated roads. philadelphia 34 degrees, but wilmington 32 and lancaster 30 degrees and warmer at the coast atlantic city airport 35 and temperatures below freezing means the untreated surfaces will be refreezing.

and stormtracker 6 live double scan showing this mess of a storm really fragmented. a trough to the north pulling through right now and that takes the steady snow with it. 11:00 tonight still a scattering of snow showers really not expecting much more accumulation a coating to an inch possible and 7:00 tomorrow morning snow showers south of philadelphia and elsewhere north sunshine peeking through and tomorrow by the afternoon sunshine and temperatures around 40 degrees and 40 in philadelphia and 40 in cape may and 40 in allentown and 40 in wilmington and winds pick up from the west 20 miles per hour. and then over the weekend you have been warned, you have an arctic attack. you have cold air bottled up north poll and the winter will be released into our region and dips to the south.

temperatures dropping down to the teens and single digits and that is where they stay on valentine's day. the coldest air mass since last winter. the exclusive accuweather forecast, a few lingering snow showers in the morning and breezy and sunshine and a high of 40 degrees, on thursday we drop it down to 90 degrees and a couple more snow showers not looking to be a big event and friday brisk and cold and 32 degrees and friday night into saturday morning, that is when the arctic front alives and brings us a round of snow showers and the high of 22 we'll actually hit that in the morning the low of 2 on sunday that would be record cold and then on sunday, the high for valentine's day, only 19 degrees so snuggle up with your loved one and then we rebound up to 32 degrees for president's day and the next system will bring snow changing over to rain with a high of 46 degrees and i'll have a complete list of snow totals coming up on
